Lovely and bright, custom-built contemporary, pleasant WALK TO SOUTH BEACH and bike/drive (approximately 2.5 miles) to historic Edgartown. Beautiful setting for an unforgettable island visit; views overlooking Katama Plains to the ocean. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. Meticulously and lovingly maintained. Three levels of living space - 2400 sq ft of bright natural light: spacious living area with cathedral ceiling great room open to large, fully equipped kitchen (22 ft of counter space) and sun-filled dining area (seats up to ten guests).
The house features a second floor overlooking the first floor living space. The first floor great room is designed for relaxing; furnished for comfort, gently cooled by a ceiling fan and softly lit in the evening by track lighting. Three sliding glass doors open to a large South-facing deck overlooking lovely landscaped lawn and garden area. The bedrooms are immaculate and comfortable. The house is filled with wonderful features that will make your vacation truly pleasant and carefree.

Amenities for this house include:
Walk to salt water beach, views over Katama Plains from 3rd floor balcony, adjacent to the Herring Creek Road bike path which connects to all routes on Island.
Kitchen: Full complement of cookware and tableware, blender, microwave, ice-maker, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, mixer, iron and board, dishwasher, cooking utensils, pots and pans, lobster pot, food processor, waffle maker, and many other conveniences. Clothes washer and dryer conveniently located nearby kitchen.
Dining: The dining area seats eight to ten. There is a child's highchair.
Entertainment: DVD/VCR player (2), HDTV with full cable programming (2), stereo system with CD player, board games, clock radio/cd player (3), iPod stereo docking station, family video library, board game, books and puzzles for the rare rainy day.
Outside: Large south-facing deck on first floor overlooking lovely landscaped lawn and garden area, BBQ grill (gas), dining and deck furniture, fully enclosed private hot/cold water shower, and for the beach: chairs (4), towels, cooler and thermos.
General: Ceiling fan in great room, Island activity guides, restaurant guides, walking/hiking/biking guides, child's porta-crib (2), child size play table and chairs. Hair dryers.
Other: Wireless internet access, bed linens and towels provided: we also provide household paper goods, laundry and dishwasher detergents.
Updates for 2012 - GE profile gas range/oven and Electolux front loading washer and dryer. In 2011, for third floor sitting area, new furniture (a queen sofa bed, coordinating chair and ottoman, coffee and end tables, and lighting). For third floor bedroom: a lovely handcrafted armoire provides plentiful storage space. In 2010 we updated the great room furniture: a sectional sofa, recliners, console and coffee tables, area rugs and more . . . There are many other enhancements to furnishings each year.

This was at least our 7th time in this home. The owners are very accomodating. Each year they improve and update the house. It is a very clean home (important to us). An unusual and welcome feature is that the owners supply paper goods, condiments, towels and linens. This is a great convenience. We walk or bike to the beach. The front lawn and deck is great for family gathering. The kitchen has everything you could imagine. All of good quality. I highly recommend this property.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children.

This spacious home provides a great common area with lovely high ceilings (with fan) where eight of us could comfortably come together for meals and conversation; this great room opens through three sliding doors to a large outside deck which is perfect for grilling and dining outdoors. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and of ample size. The wrap-around kitchen is beautifully stocked with coffee maker, processor, utensils, many standard spices, large pots and pans, dishwasher, etc. We enjoyed using the enclosed outdoor shower especially when returning from the beach. There are lots and lots of sheets and towels and board games, books, and videos which make for a cozy and welcoming environment. The owner was terrific to work with and very responsive. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+.
