This new, fully equipped home is located in a gated community with 24 hours guards. It is walking distance to all points in Antigua including ruins, the mercado, the central plaza, shops and a great variety of restaurants. Antigua is an expatriate community located in the coffee growing region of the Panchoy valley. As a UNESCO World Heritage site building is limited to colonial standards. The house is part of Residenciales Ermita Santa Lucia, just off of the Alameda behind the Santa Lucia Church. A quick walk to the mercado and five blocks to the central park. The house is comfortable furnished as a home including art by local artists.
The streets are cobblestone (appropriate shoes are a must)and the weather is ideal (the average year round temperature is 75 degrees). Antigua is centrally located at 5500 feet and is a two-hour drive from Lake Atitlan (many say "the most beautiful lake in the world") and the Pacific coast area of Montericco. The Mayan ruins of Tikal are a 30-minute plane ride from Guatemala City.
The house has high-speed internet (wireless too) and a computer (PC)for tenant use, a fully equipped kitchen, a full-time housekeeper Monday through Friday, a gardener and a bi-lingual property manager who lives ten minutes away. English is widely spoken in Antigua which has a number of shops featuring local crafts and a number of restaurants featuring food from all over the world.
