Located in the Village of Ma'alaea this one bedroom, one bath, ground floor beachfront/oceanfront condo has modern furnishings and updated appliances. Access to the beach is literally 10 steps from the condo! This is only one of three oceanfront ground floor units in this small, quiet 24 bungalow complex, at the end of a dead end road. This is only 1 of 2 Ma'alaea condo complexes with direct beach access! The owners knew this and this was the biggest selling point for them!
Ma'alaea has an old town Maui vibe, completely removed from the crowds of the bigger resorts. The property starts at the beginning of 5 miles of white sand beach (Sugar Beach), where you have complete access 24/7, for long walks or jogging. There is a calm ocean swimming/snorkeling area directly in front of the unit, and one of Maui's premier local surf spots called 'Rusty Pipes' during south swells on the islands. Be assured,there is always a calm spot to swim in.
Watch the sunrise from your lanai over the grand volcano and jewel of Maui, Haleakala Crater. Enjoy the sparkling lights of Kihei across the bay at night. Complimentary access given to our guests to: BBQ gas grills and fenced freshwater swimming pool.
This property is located on Ma'alaea bay, a significant calving and breeding location for Humpback Whales, November through April. Whale activity can be witness directly from the Lanai, while having morning coffee, reading, grilling or swimming in the private pool. We provide complimentary binoculars for your exclusive use during your stay, so you can watch these amazing creatures!
There's a quaint local grocery store within walking distance (Tradewinds) for local sustainable produce and meats, liquor,cold drinks, and Island treats!. Local daily farmers market (within walking distance and another a 10 minute drive) with modern grocery stores also a 10 minute drive, along with a shoppers paradise for everything you will need to enjoy your stay.
Ma'alaea is also home to its own harbor, with 24 hour coast guard protection. Easily within walking distance, you can enjoy booking and taking off for a whale watching adventure, sunset cruise or sightseeing tour directly from this harbor. Why the Owner Chose Maalaea
This property is at the end of a quiet street, with direct and private access to the beach. It has an "old Mauitown vibe", and basically is "off the radar" for most visitors to Maui. The property is also the finest place to view whale activity on the Island! That is why the Pacific Whale Foundation and the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium) chose Ma'alaea for their location. The trade winds provide natural "air conditioning" so you can feel "green" about your stay here (along with access to local sustainable produce/meats grown just a few miles away)!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Ma'alaea is quiet and private, with a calm place on the ocean to snorkel, or swim! Sugar Beach is never crowded! The Pacific Whale foundation is a 10 minute walk from the property so you can walk to your whale watch tour, or take educational classes without a car! Boogie board and stand up paddle board rentals are available just down the street. This central location is perfect as a jumping off point for a excursion to Lahaina Town, Haleakala Crater, the road to Hana (rain forest), and upcountry. What a wonderful condo. Great location to access everything that Maui has to offer. Stephanie was wonderfu to work with and the extra touches we found in the condo were a nice surprise. The location is very quiet and peaceful. The grounds of the complex were in terrific condition and what a view out to the ocean. Eat at Freds' Mexican Cantina in Kihei for the BEST Mahi Mahi Tacos. Taco Tuesday is a bargin. The CD in the condo for the journey to Hana was great and added to the trip. If you go up to the crater to see the sunrise...do it the very next morning after you arrive your body will still be on your old time schedule so getting up at 3:00a.m. is not bad and so worth the trip. What a view....onto of the world. Go to up country and visit the towns there. Everyone is so friendly and it is such a different vibe than down at the resorts. Snorkeling is wonderful. Make sure you check out as many of beaches as you can. We are already planning our next trip to the island. If there is paradise on earth Maui is it.

WOW!! What a great place to come and relax to!! The view was wonderful, very peaceful and beautiful. My husband and I came here for our "25th" wedding Anniversary and I also celebrated my birthday here too. We had a great time relaxing, sightseeing, shopping and on our last night a sunset cruise.
