Why the Owner Chose Lake Arrowhead

Lake Arrowhead is an easy drive from anywhere in Southern California, and at a mile in elevation makes for a great four season getaway

The Unique Benefits at this House

With lots of windows and two large decks the western views out over the lake and mountains are great (and they make for some beautiful sunsets).

Owner's Map of Lake Arrowhead

We live in Orange County, but love to getaway and relax up in the mountains (and we like to share the place with others)

Seen Better Days

As a fellow vrbo.com owner I try to be lenient. I know this business is hard but I was disappointed in Lone Star Lodge (LSL). Issues: - one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, the roll on the holder. I immediately contacted the owner via cell phone and she asked me to go to the neighbor's house and ask them for a roll. I asked her to contact the neighbor first. She asked me to contact her husband and have him make contact with the neighbor. I left a message for him and he replied back asking me to go to the store and buy more toilet paper and other necessities. - no paper towels, no napkins, no sponge in the kitchen (or the whole house). No trash bag in the kitchen or bathrooms. No trashcan in the bathrooms. I finally found a trash bag (not in the kitchen but in a totally separate area of the house) but not until I went to the grocery store and begged them for 1 trash bag. - the first pole of the stair railing was broken and tied to the nearby end-table's leg to give the pole support. Support was minimal and hand railing was too wobbly for use. - the second pole of the stair railing (adjacent to the first pole) was missing providing for a gap large enough for my 6 year old son to crawl through, let alone my 2 year old. - "video library" contained about 4 baby dvd's and 30 or so VHS movies ranging from 007-James Bond movies to City Slickers with Billy Crystal. Problem was, no VHS player. - upstairs screen door was off and leaning against the sliding door when we arrived. Over night, a wind and rain storm rolled in and the sliding door slammed against the room causing a scare for those in the house. - provided TV station guide was inaccurate. Conclusion: The LSL is a well priced cabin for 8-14 persons. The rooms were large, the beds were comfy and the pool table was a blast to use. The dining table, silverware and dinnerware were in GREAT condition. The range was very nice as was the new refrigerator. Our extended family of 10 really enjoyed the dining table where we ate 3 meals and played a ton of card games. Sadly though, the feeling I received from staying at the cabin is one of "its seen better days". From the 1" gaps in the carpet on the upper level (you could see the carpet pad), the lack of necessities, the broken pole on the railing, some pans in the kitchen need replacing, the dining room chandelier needs to be centered over the table (I hit my head on it)... the LSL needs some TLC.
