Secluded 1.3 acre parcel with five acre nature preserve behind property and shelter from other neighboring properties. Unbelievable views from master bedroom, living/dining, and freestanding bunk house (with separate bath and coffee bar)all looking east to the sunrise, and moonlit nights to O'Neal Island just offshore. Bike ride to Roche Harbor or Westcott Bay (for oysters), sit on the deck with the propane firepit and watch the eagles swoop directly in front as they traverse the waterfront. You can keep an eye on your boat (or is that yacht?) moored at our new mooring bouy directly in front of our property.
Go whale-watching with Capt Jim Maya, or paddle out in a kayak to watch the Orcas in their native habitat. This is the place to just rest up, read, watch movies (three lcd televisions with DirecTV hook-up), sit in the new jacuzzi which faces the waterfront between the house and the bunk house. No neighbor noise. Just you and your family. Pets are okay, but extra charges apply to clean for the next family that may have allergies to our pets. Great local food market for home chefs and wonderful seafood restaurants for those on vacation from cooking. From the ferry ride to the island until you return this vacation is just very very special.

Why the Owner Chose Roche Harbor
We visited this place in 1983 before we were married and always loved the ferries and the whales, and the island feel of relaxation. We decided a trade of a house on a manmade lake in san diego for an ocean front bungalow was a no-brainer! This is the "catbird seat" when it comes to great views.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The relaxation from sitting outside watching the water and the eagles fly overhead can only be explained by experiencing the pleasure. We assume those who come to visit will feel that as well.

What a Great Week, Great Place to Stay... Right on the Water!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at Catbird Bungalow!! We arrived at the quaint town of Friday Harbor via ferry. The drive to the property was beautiful, and a nice first view of the island. The home is very secluded and comfortable, with everything there to make us feel at home. We went out to dinner AND enjoyed preparing meals at home... well-stocked kitchen, at that! The bunkhouse is a perfect place for a couple or even kids. This was a nice home base for us. You'll enjoy the stay at Catbird Bungalow!
