I would give this place an 'excellent' review. Clean, well-maintained, beautiful grounds and so pretty. We were in the lower apartment and basically had everything we needed - and everything we needed to take to the beach (beach chairs, beach bags, etc. They even have snorkel gear, but we brought our own.) We only found out later, that there 'was' a path to the beach. But no matter, we rented a car and explored the pristine and gorgeous beaches. The only downside (and it wasn't a downside for us, really) is that you need to rent a car to get around. I don't think there was bus service on the island. The snorkeling was wonderful, (try just next to the Rainbow Inn near the tennis courts - and snorkel next to the overhanging rocks) and the beach on the very northern end of the island is second to none. At the end of the day it's nice to come home, grab a few lawn chairs and sit outside.

The apartment is amazing and the location perfect! It is fully furnished. There is everything you need, also an Italian moka for your coffee! We had the luck to know Bobby. She is a great host! We highly recommend this place.

We stayed in the Cabana at Long Reach last week and it was such a nice way to spend a vacation. Everything that you need is there, right down to beach towels, chairs, snorkeling equipment, etc. The Cabana is decorated so nicely and the owners have provided information about the area in a booklet that was very helpful to a first-time visitor. The property itself is beautiful and well-maintained, and the neighborhood was great for taking walks. We walked down to the Rainbow Inn several times and snorkeling is nearby. We would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful winter getaway for those who desire peace, tranquility and a beautiful island to explore. Our hosts Mark and Bobbi Updegraff helped us find our way around the island by compiling a book with all of the attractions. Our accomodations were clean, comfortable, and enjoyable.

My husband, Marc, and I stayed at Long Reach for our honeymoon as a wonderful gift from the homeowners, Bobbi and Mark Updegraff. We couldn't have been more pleased with everything. It was paradise! The house is beautiful and is fully stocked with anything you might need, the area is secluded yet you arent far from places like the Rainbow Inn or Big Rock, and the Bahamians are sooooo friendly and helpful! We particularly appreciated the book the Updegraff's put together, listing all information on anything you could want to do on the island. So helpful! We also appreciated the book they had on the beaches of Eluethra. We went to several each day and it was sheer paradise. Marc and I STRONGLY recommend this vacation rental. You truly won't be disappointed!

We are young people and Long Reach was the perfect location for us. Quite near there is great snorkeling - Long Reach lays in the center of the island, so the perfect spot to explore the full beauty ot the island. also surfing spots are not far, but you need a car. Long Reach is perfect!! - fully equiped - you only have to bring your cloths - the rest is there - we had a great time, perfect for full relaxation - never saw so much stars, nice beaches and friendly people...we fully recommend! hope to see you there caro & michi (age 30)

Hello Mark and Roberta, I am writing to let you know our stay at Long Reach was pleasant and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for more. When I saw the quilts on the walls I knew we had made the right choice. As a quilter, I appreciated the design and color of your quilts. I have quilts hanging all over my house too. John and the offspring -- they're too old to call children anymore -- enjoyed the fishing, and we all enjoyed the beach and the sea. The night sky viewing was amazing -- you truly have a spot in paradise. Thanks for allowing us to share it.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Long Reach for a long deserved vacation. We arrived to find a beautiful, secluded home with an unbelievable view of the oceans from the deck. We experienced snorkeling for the first time at Rainbow Beach. Can you imagine a 5 foot Barracuda next to you as you are snorkeling in 30 feet of crystal clear water. We practically lived in the water from morning to night. The vacation home was a actually that, a home away from home. It is very cozy and homelike. We hope to return in the near future. It is a difficult decision to share one's home with strangers, but our guests have all been wonderful. It has been a pleasure to serve them. They have treated our house like home in TLC for the property and respect for the owners. We have discovered new places on the island because of the entries in our house journal. Eleuthera may not be for everyone, but it has been a treasure to share with such great guests.

Long Reach was a great spot to enjoy rest and relaxation with great friends, Bobbi and Mark. It was wonderful running along the Atlantic Ocean and 5 minutes later along the Caribbean Sea. The snorkling was a blast and the water awesome!

The rainbows are beautiful, stretching from the Caribbean to Atlantic across the deck of the house. The grounds are lovely, and the hosts provide lots of personal touches, like little things you forget. The natives are friendly and the store at Big Rock gives wonderful, friendly service. You can see the ocean from both the downstairs and upstairs apartments. It is a comfortable, cozy place to stay with lots of privacy, but offers new friends in the Bahamians who live on the island.

Long Reach was a lovely place to stay. The top floor was bright and clean and had lots of games to play. It was near enough to the beach for a nice walk, or you could take a short drive to many gorgeous beaches. The owners are very nice to work with. Highly recommended.

The apartment was clean and nicely decorated with many extra amenities. The view from the deck is beautiful. The owners give lots of information on their website, and provided a great guest guide with all the restaurants, sights to see, etc. etc. The place is off the beaten path, but very nice if you like privacy. It is not on the beach but pretty secluded beaches are an easy short walk. We had a great vacation.
