Cub Creek Mt. Getaway was great! We had a nice time. The apartment is wonderful, peaceful, & very clean. It was just right for the two of us. The only reason I gave it a good instead of excellent is because there is no cable. I like to watch the morning news ect... We did bring our own dvd's which was helpful. The owners have dvd's and vhs movies to watch. If we had stayed longer than 3 days I would have been tired of dvd's. On our first full day we took the train from Charlottesville to D.C. We came back on the same day. I don't recommend this if you have never been to D.C. We have been there before, so there were only a few things we wanted to see. On our second full day we went to Monticello. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. It is an absolutely beautiful home and gives you lots of information about our 3rd President. We also toured Walton's Mt. Museum. If you are a fan of the Walton's you will love this place. Just wanted to list a few places to visit in the area. Thank you Allen and family for letting us stay at your apartment. We HIGHLY recommend CUB CREEK MOUNTAIN GETAWAY!!! Sincerely, The Happy couple from Huntsville, Alabama

Wonderful alternative to staying at Wintergreen Resort

My wife and i made our initial reservation here primarily because it was cheaper than the Wintergreen Resort hotel. We were SOOO glad we did, as the experience was much better than having stayed at a hotel. The reservation process was very simple and easy. We had some questions initially and the owner responded almost immediately. The listing description and photos were certainly accurate for the apartment. The two-level set-up was great, and we certainly wouldn't have had a full kitchen in the hotel. The bed was super-soft, the sheets and towels comfortable, and the coffee great. The owner met us on the porch when we arrived and quickly showed us through the apartment. The only negatives against the place were that it didn't have any TV/cable/dish set-up and that the cell service was spotty at best. If you're looking to truly escape from those distractions though, then this would be about perfect. There weren't a lot of places around for meals though, unfortunately. That's not a fault for this apartment specifically, but rather for the area. We would likely plan to go to a grocery store on the way in and cook our own meals the next time. We would highly recommend this apartment for anyone traveling in the summer. Winter travel may be a little more difficult with snow and/or ice on the roads, though we've never been through that area in the winter.

We had an excellent time staying in this apartment. It was very attractive and the owners were very graceous. The location is great for anyone wanting to visit the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, Monticello, vineyards, or go skiing at Wintergreen.

The cabin was the perfect getaway. I surprised my boyfriend and took him for two nights. The only thing we wished for is that we had been able to stay longer. The cabin is fully furniturished, down to coffee and creamer, and fun Disney movies to watch..which we needed since there was no cable. It was nice to get away from it all and cuddle up with a wholesome movie on a cozy couch. I have already recommended it to my colleges at work and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys getaway and appreciating the outdoors.

This is a beautiful, brand new apartment, well equipped, comfortable spot for two in the forest. We holed up for a weekend and enjoyed it. Though it is fully equipped for cooking, it is also only a ten minute drive to several nice restaurants. We hope to come back sometime!
