this little bungalow was the perfect spot to come. Quiet in a residential area surrounded by cascading bougainvillea and birds.The host couple are very kind and attentive fresh flowers on the patio every other day.Great shower and a good collection of dvd,s after a hot beach day.Close to food stores and the many road market stands.Good comfy bed clean everything you need.Guadeloupe has much to offer for escaping the chill of winter a must go location!

We have just spent one month (January 2012) in this wonderful little bungalow. Marie-Jo and Christian are the perfect hosts, respectful of your privacy but always available to help you, answer your questions and tell you many interesting places to visit and things to do. Having rented a car (highly recommended), we toured the islands from one end to the other (+ 3000 km ). There are so many things to see and do, so many beautiful beaches easily accessible, free of charge. Similarly the road network is in perfect condition, which is not usual in the Caribbean islands. About the studio and contrary to what some reviews suggested, I have found the steps leading to the bedroom upstairs were easy enough to use even during the night (I'm 72 years). A month was clearly not enough to see and enjoy everything to discover in Guadeloupe . We shall come back. Do not bring travelers checks even in Euros. No business accepts them. The pictures are exactly like the cottage. Very quaint and quiet. Marie was a wonderful hostess and was helpful in recommending places to go. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower. The steps need to be climbed like a ladder, so you need to be agile. Beware if you have a manual car, the parking is on a hill. We found Guadeloupe easy to drive around, but the many sites that we wanted to see just seemed to be hidden. It didn't help that we didn't speak French. We did find one close beautiful beach in front of the Club Med but you had to know where to turn to find it!

We spent a week at this property in mid-January 2011. It is located in an upscale residential area east of Gosier, close to everything. The owners, Marie Jo and Christiane could not have been more helpful, and respectful of our privacy. The bungalow is charming, well equipped, and secluded. Access to the loft bedroom is by a narrow ladder-like stair that takes a bit of getting used to, and is not for anyone with mobility issues.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay in Marie-Jo & Christiane's cottage. They were very congenial hosts and very respectful of our privacy. The cottage is cute and tastefuly decorated. Our only warnings are that you must be physically able as the bed is located in a loft upstairs and the steps leading to it are more like a ladder. Also, there is a restriction to running the AC from 8pm to 8am. Not a problem for us and it did work like a dream at night, keeping us cool! I would highly recommend St. Felix beach only a 5 min drive away. (very private, quiet beach & a pleasant hiking trail off the beach). There are also an abundance of markets and great restaurants nearby. We would definitely return!

Nous avons logé dans ce petit bungalow charmant pendant deux semaines. Tout simplement génial.Bien centralisé,propre, bien équipé avec l'eau potable et à proximité de tous les services.Les propriétaires sont des gens très gentils, honnêtes et soucieux du bien- être de leurs locataires.Si vous en avez assez des destinations soleil habituelles où vous partager une petite portion de plage, La Guadeloupe offre des dizaines de plages souvent très peu achalandées toutes aussi différentes les unes des autres, un dépaysement assuré.N'hésitez pas à vous louer un voiture,les deux portions du territoire ont beaucoup à offrir.Nous y retournerons !

It is thanks to VRBO and this property that we ended up spending our vacation in Guadeloupe! We found this guest cottage to be our most charming accommodation during our stay. The cottage is lovely and gave us the experience of living in a typical "case créole". Despite being on the owners property, it is very private (and the owners are very discreet). We enjoyed its location on the bourg side of Gosier, which means you can get to the farmers market and the many restaurants in 5 minutes. It's also very close to Ste. Anne and its beautiful beaches. In short, we would return without hesitation.

Nous revenons à peine d'une merveilleuse semaine en Guadeloupe. Ce Guesthouse était au-delà de nos attentes! Un endroit exceptionnel d'un grand confort. Décoration minutieuse à la fois moderne et exotique. Toutes les accomodations (air clim, cuisinette complète, douche, et hamac! etc).Joli quartier avec une petite plage à 5 minutes de marche. En voiture, à 5 minutes du centre-ville du Gosier et à une quinzaine des superbes plages de Ste-Anne. Ce bungalow est très central, facile de se rendre d'un bout à l'autre de la Gwada.Des propriétaires gentils et chaleureux mais très soucieux de notre vie privée.Un endroit somme toute romantique et parfait pour une semaine en couple!Ici, des fans de pronto pizza. Écrivez-moi si vous voulez des conseils ou des directions!

Mon conjoint et moi avons passé deux semaines de Noël inoubliables à Gosier dans le bungalow de Marie-Jo et Christian.Que des superlatifs pour décrire notre émerveillement, une entrée privée bordée de magnifiques et géants bougainvilliers, une invitante terrasse extérieure où nous avons pris tous nos repas et passé toutes nos soirées quand nous y étions. Bon vent, carillon en bois, piaillements des sucriers qui se nourrissent... chaise berçante et connection WiFi, rien de tel pour planifier notre journée du lendemain. De la petite plage à pied de notre bungalow jusqu'aux plus sauvages et aux plus magnifiques, la palme est revenue à la Plage des Raisins Clairs à St-François, ne la manquez pas, l'eau y est claire et transparente et il y a une multitude de poissons à observer près des rochers – sans autre équipement qu'un masque et un tuba. Ne manquez pas non plus de vous arrêter à la plage municipale de Gosier, éclairée le soir, pour une dernière plonge en revenant vers votre bungalow en fin de journée. Vous dormirez tout votre saoul avec les bons vents d'alizées qui circulent dans le bungalow, nous avons à peine utilisé la climatisation. Bon café, bonne cafetière.Bon sommeil, bon lit. Bon voyage, bon logis! Hospitalité bienveillante. Accueil chaleureux. Très sécuritaire et central.Merci à nos hôtes, merci à VRBO.

We can't ask for any perfact place to spend our vacation in Guadeloupe. Meri-jo and her husband are so welcoming and helpful, we felt like long lost friends of theirs. The cottage is very charming, the decor is lovely, and the kitchen is well equipped. We would've spend more time there, but they were totally booked. I just like to thank Meri-jo for giving us such a nice time.

It was a pleasure to spend the week before Christmas in the balmy breezes of Gosier. It was hard to believe I was enjoying the gentle night breezes nestled in this cute little bungalow while my friends in California were dressed in woolen sweaters. From the loft I had a view of the tree tops,hillside, and the small beach at the base of the hill. The accomodations were perfect and the home owners extremely helpful. I highly recommend this cozy cottage. Close to everything but quiet and secure. I plan on returning to share the experience with my husband.

Notre séjour en Guadeloupe a été absolument parfait. Le pavillon (guest house) était en tout point aussi parfait que le texte de présentation le prétend. De plus, un bbq vous permet de vous faire des grillades et un hamac de vous reposer à l'extérieur. Les insectes piqueurs sont quasi-inexistants et la terrasse tout à fait intime.Grâce aux judicieux conseils de nos hôtes, nous avons pu organiser nos itinéraires quotidiens de façon à tirer profit au maximum du temps dont nous disposions pour visiter. Leur accueil a été chaleureux, et nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous.

My wife and I found this bungalow to be quite charming, comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped. The owners were very polite, friendly and accommodating; and the location is superb: a five-minute walk to a beautiful beach, and close to major roads and the airport. It was a prime location both to enjoy for its own sake, and to serve as starting point for adventures on the beautiful islands that make up the Guadaloupean archipelago.
