Fantástica casa!!!!

It's been a week since we left Casa del Marullo and I find myself longing to open the big glass doors, walk out onto the terrace with my steaming cup of Joe, and listen to and watch the waves crash on the shore. Or maybe watch the beautiful horses stroll by or watch the iguana work on his suntan in the yard. This casa was everything it was described to be and more. It was fully equipped with everything one needs for a stay and for trips to the beautiful beaches. The owner, Barbara, was very good to work with, and patient, too, answering my many many questions. The caretakers, Marcelle and William, were very friendly, accomodating, and helpful, We were two couples staying here and felt that the house was very spacious and comfortable. It was especially nice having the washer and dryer to keep everything clean. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting a laid back, relaxing type of get-a-away. While some say there is not much to do on Vieques, that is the absolute beauty of it! In the seven days we were there, we did not have near enough time to do everything we wanted. We did visit many of the beaches (funny how everyone you ask has a different favorite) and finally decided upon OUR favorite---Media Luna. This may not be the beach for everyone but it was small and quiet and not very populated. We didn't eat out much as we preferred to cook in (or out on the terrace on the nice BBQ pit). We visited Morales Supermercado many times, as well as some of the local Colmados, and the fruit and vegetable market. Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful. We did manage to hit Sol Food one day on the way to Sun Bay...OMG...it was truly amazing! I thought it funny before coming to Vieques that it was the #1 rated "restaurant" but now I see why! We did the Bio Bay tour and while we enjoyed it, I would recommend to anyone else to not go in kayaks--it was not the most comfortable experience for us. Overall, an excellent experience, we loved loved Casa del Marullo, and I cannot wait to do it again!!!!!

We stayed at this house last October. This is a great house right on the beach. It is large and has everything you need. We had 4 adults and one child and it never felt crowded. It was great to have all the beach toys and umbrellas. We loved sitting out on the back deck and watching the ocean, as well as the few stray horses that found their way into the yard when we forgot to close the gate! The location is close to everything, and a short drive to some great beaches. I would definitely recommend this house!

Las vacaciones en Casa del Marrullo fueron unas de las mejores. La casa es hermosa y esta muy bien equipada. El patio es la playa. Por la noche en las habitaciones puedes escuchar las olas. Realmente es espectacular!!! Me encanto!

First of all a disclaimer - we travel a lot! You couldn't ask for a better place to stay than Casa del Marullo. The owner, Barbara, was extremely detailed and organized AND HELPFUL! Everything we needed was provided and more, including lots of information about Vieques and things to do and see. The location of the house is just fantastic - literally right on the beach, very private (like your own - we saw almost no one the whole time). And the house has simply everything provided! Very comfortable, very clean, very nice. This is one of the nicest vacations we've ever had. One other comment about Vieques: The food and restaurants there are unbelievably good. As I said, we travel a lot and every meal was soooo good. You can't go wrong with either Casa del Marullo or Vieques for a vacation.

This property was everything as described. The first day on the beach wild horses went by to welcome us. The hardest decisions to make everyday were ...where are we going to eat and what beach? There isn't alot lot to do but relax on the most beautiful beaches. Local restaurants were great, in fact never had a bad meal. The local people were friendly and helpful. The owner and managers were informative. You definitely need a car, however, nothing is far. We were there 10 amazing days. Hope to go back someday. The biobay kayak tour well worth it....it's a definite must do. We didn't get to deep sea fish due to winds. We snorkled at every beach..it was amazing what we saw. If you want to relax this is a great place to do that.

I have one big regret about my stay at Casa del Marullo...not staying longer! My husband and I traveled to Vieques in January 2011 for our wedding. We got married on a public beach there, and rented this house to host a small reception afterwards on the lawn. What a great place! It was all we had hoped for and more. The owner and caretakers were a joy to work with, and took great care to make sure the house and grounds were immaculate. The house is in a quiet location on the North side of the island, right on the ocean, with beautiful views. It is spacious, and well-equipt with everything you may need in a home away from home. (I even found a steamer for my wedding dress tucked away in a closet.) The house is only minutes away from grocery stores, shops, restaurants and the ferry to the main island. Our stay was filled with visits from hermit crabs, pelicans, iguanas and wild horses. The beach is perfect for kids to explore and search "treasures". We had such a special time here, that we've already reserved the house for our vacation next year. We cannot wait to make more memories!
Owner response:I was so happy that Carrie and Jose chose Casa del Marullo for their wedding. They sent me pictures of their wedding and reception and I was so pleased to share in their beautiful memories. They are returning in January, to celebrate their anniversary, relive their happy memories and create new ones.

This was our first Christmas away from the snow, and we couldn't have picked a better place! Barbara was amazing, very prompt in her responses, and keeps the place in tip top condition. Every morning we walked along the beach and collected sea shells, and every afternoon, we picked a different beach to explore. The place had snorkels, beach chairs, towels and sun umbrellas. All we needed were swim suits and sun screen. It was also amazingly safe. Make sure you get a car, so you can explore this enchanting island!
