Here is a picture of a 5 Lb bass caught in Sept 2009. We are at the lakeshore home frequently doing our two favorite activities - fishing and kayaking.
The lake has 33 miles of shoreline and a large island in the middle. It's a 2-3 hour kayak trip to circle the big island. The lake is actually not very busy - it's a terrific escape. We also have a canoe if you prefer.

My family of 7 enjoyed the cabin over the New Year's weekend. We greatly appreciated the relaxing atmosphere. The cabin suited everone's needs for sleeping arrangements and entertainment. The lower level TV kept all the football lovers happy as they were still able to watch the weekend's games, yet we enjoyed not having it in the upper level while we played cards and board games as a family without the temptation of turning on the TV the rest of the time. The distance to town is an easy 10 minute drive so when you forget anything you don't have too far to go and the area has ample options for groceries and other necessary items. The cabin was also beautifully clean and well stocked with linens and blankets. We have rented before and everything has not always been exactly as depicted but in the case of this cabin it truly is as great as it appears. We hope to find an occasion to return in the summer and enjoy the lake when it's not covered in ice!

This cabin is, by far, one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed at. The setting is beautiful. We saw otters, eagles and loons. The cabin is adorable. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. Daryll always promptly replied to my e-mails during booking.

The cabin was wonderful! It was very clean, with all the luxuries of home. The location could not have been better...on a beautiful lake, but only 10 minutes from town. Our boys loved the kayaks and canoe and we enjoyed the fires in the fire pit in the evening. There was plenty of space for all of us. We can't wait to go back.
Owner response:Betsey and Kevin and their five (5) teenage boys stayed at the cabin for four nights in June 2011. They were great guests, and I appreciate their postive reponse.

A perfect setting. It is a quiet place that is alive with Nature! My children love catching turtles, bullfrogs and small fish right in front of the pier. We watch the eagles fly overhead and listen to the loons. We even get to see deer walk right by the cabin. What a wonderful place to be. The cabin is always clean and cozy. We love to use the kayaks that are available to explore the lake and see it's beauty. It's hard to believe this place is so close to Hayward. We can be fishing one minute, and in ten minutes we can be eating saltwater taffy in the candy store in downtown Hayward! Our family feels very lucky to have found this vacation spot to create forever memories.
Owner response:Melissa and her family are repeat renters - four years in a row. We look forward to seeing them next year! We thank them for the thoughtful review.

We stayed at the cabin for a long weekend in early September 2006. The property was very clean, very large cabin right on a quiet bay of a larger lake. We went fishing and I caught a 2 lb bass the first day and a 5 lb bass the 2nd day. My wife caught plenty of sunnies and crappies. We made a fire in the on-site firepit and roasted marshmallows and made 'smores. In the evening, we saw 3 deer and a fox right in the backyard. There are a few cabins around, but no one else was up for the weekend, it felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves. The fishing boat and motor on-site worked just fine. My wife really enjoyed trying out the kayak. We are definitely renting this place again next year.

Tim, his wife, and 2 teenage sons stayed at the cabin for a 3-day weekend in August 2006. He left a hand-written thank you note stating "We were surprised how large and roomy the cabin was. It is actually a house, 2-levels, with plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the canoe and kayak that were on-site. We are returning next year and plan on bringing our bikes to take advantage of the many bike trails in the area. The cabin was spotless, sunlit, and cheery. The bullfrogs and loons provided plenty of entertainment in the evenings. Very Relaxing!" T.W.
