Fantastic Experience

We stayed in the Charming Chalet as a little getaway from the heat of the Phoenix valley and could not be happier. The house was beautifully decorated. Charming, cozy, and just the right amount of mountain with the antlers, black bears and moose! The deck out front was where we spent most of our time. It was large enough for 3 adults to sit and relax while 2 toddlers run around and play. All we had to do was put a chair in front of the stairs and they were locked in! What I was most impressed with was that the owners chose finishings and details that made it seem like a stay in someone's home, not just a rental property. The towels were newer, thick and soft. There was every kind of kitchen gadget you could want so cooking was easy. And they left a little welcome basket of snacks and a bottle of wine to get the weekend off to a good start. The owners were also very easy to deal with. Amy was extremely prompt in her communication and answered all my questions easily and in a friendly way. We are already thinking of the next time we can stay at the Charming Chalet. It is definately worth a few extra dollars a night!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

(via email) Hi Amy, Your Charming Chalet is indeed charming. We really enjoyed our stay this past week. We were pleased with the plethora of towels, hand towels, wash cloths, dish towels, extra blankets, and pillows. I, in particular, LOVED that the kitchen is SO well stocked with just about everything we needed for our stay. I was also happy with how clean the place is kept. Having two new babies and a toddler, having the laundry was incredibly helpful, and we really liked that the washer and dryer are updated and functioning well. The neighborhood was really quiet and we enjoyed family walks just about each evening, and the porch was really great for outside meals and evening (and even early morning) enjoyment. Thank you for your hard work in keeping this place nice and available. We will definitely be keeping your Charming Chalet on the top of our list of places to stay when we visit the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Charming Chalet. I cannot think of anything that could have been done to make it any better. Chris and Amy made the entire process from booking to arrival to enjoyment about as painless as I have ever experienced. The property was absolutely beautiful. We felt like we were home the entire stay. I would highly recommend this property. Sitting on the proch in the pines and enjoying the views and relaxation is priceless. Wish I had purchased this property.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wonderful cabin

This is a beautifully decorated, very clean and very updated cabin. We had seven family members gather here over Thanksgiving weekend and were happily surprised to find Thanksgiving themed decorations waiting for us on the dining room table when we arrived. There was even a welcoming basket of goodies! The kitchen was well stocked with a wide variety of pans and utensils. The comfy leather furniture in the living area was great for reading by the fire and he toy box and DVDs kept the kids entertained when they weren't outside exploring. There were even 2 bikes in the garage. A lot of thought and care has gone into this home and it's obvious that the Doyles want their guests to really relax and enjoy themselves. Thank you, Amy and Chris! Staying in your lovely home was a delight, and we hope to be able to return again someday.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I would definitely recommend this property! It was very clean, well maintained and just plain comfy!! Little extras like games, snacks and ziplock bags make all the difference! It is a beautiful wooded lot with empty lots on all sides and is on a very quiet street. The deck has a great mix of shade and sun to please anyone. Can't wait to return!

Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

We have stayed at a few different places we found on VRBO in various places (Forrest Highlands, San Diego, etc.) and your cabin was by far the best experience we have had. It is so nicely decorated, the towels were fresh and the beds were so comfy and cozy. The kids had a blast exploring the toy box upstairs. It was a great trip and we hope we can go back up there and stay at your place again in the near future.

A beautiful clean and well kept cabin situated in a wooded neighborhood. It is nicely appointed with comfortable furnishings and bedding. The owners were accommodating and easy to work with. I look forward to returning next year!

I just wanted to tell you that we had a fabulous time at the Charming Chalet. It is truly beautiful—the décor is awesome. We had everything we needed and it was such a nice, relaxing time. We rode bikes a few times and walked and enjoyed the clean air and wind in the pines. We played cards and read books, and just kicked back and veged! What a wonderful place to unplug!

The name "charming chalet" fits. It was so beautiful and what a relaxing long weekend. It was very clean and well stocked, you thought of everything. What a lovely home!! The cooler weather and the rain storms every afternoon, we even had hail one day. The home, trees, rain, rainbow, and stars in the clear night sky, we could not have asked for any more. It was everything the posted comments said it would be; like checking into a ski lodge. Our son, daughter-in-law, and their 2 daughters shared the cabin with us, and it was very homey,especially with the available toys. This is a great property with lots of room. It was so nice not to have any other houses right next to the property and gave it a great private feel! Skiing at Sunrise was wonderful, and we enjoyed the Casino. The local store and Safeway were close enough for us to stock up for the week without having to bring anything from Phoenix. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, and recommend to anyone looking for an amazing getaway!! Thanks again :)

Quality vacation home with hospitable owners. We stayed over Thanksgiving with another family. "Everything" we needed, even things we forgot, (incl bottle opener, gravy boat?!) was already there. The girls were quite pleased with the utility and ambiance. The great room with fireplace and high vault ceiling - wow - we hope to be back. Everyone was well accommodated for sleeping with 2BR and loft trundle bed. Thanksgiving morning snow was a nice change from typical Valley weather. Hard to go wrong with this one.

You can't go wrong choosing this home. Absolutely perfect condition in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood yet close to all the local activity. Really felt like I was staying in a friend's home and Chris and Amy are a pleasure to work with. We'll be back.

(via email) Amy, Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed your chalet in the pines. The weather was beautiful with rain every day! We enjoyed eating outside, having the windows and doors open all day, and being able to walkd down the middle of the street without worry of traffic. What a nice neighborhood! We went for a drive on Wednesday and got to see a couple of elk in the forest....another treat for desert dwellers. It was hard to come back to 110 degree weather! Thanks for the opportunity to share your wonderful escape. We hope to do it again sometime!

Loved the porch and enjoyed our coffee out there every morning, and dinner out there every night!! Everything was perfect right down to the luxury linens. You have gone to great lengths to make your home away from home very welcoming to others. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great get-a-way in the White Mountains!!

(via email) Hi Amy - Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at the Charming Chalet! Our only complaint - we didn't book for two weeks instead of one! The cabin worked our very well for the 6 of us (the boys loved their loft) - we slept well, enjoyed walks in the forest and around lakes, and had some good thunderstorms and rain, too. The temperatures were wonderful, of course.
