This was our 2nd time staying at Sueno Del Mar and it was just as fantastic as the first time. Harriet is so easy to work with by answering all of your questions and is prompt is getting back to you. The pictures don't do justice to how awesome the condo really is. Beautiful and tastefully done in all the fine craft and workmanship of Mexico - right down to the hand made dishes and beautiful pictures. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the gadgets, blenders, coffee maker, juice presser - you name it you got it! There are 2 infinity pools to relax and spend a day gazing at the ocean and small ships passing by. And the balcony (right off the master bedroom) is a great place to watch the sun set as well as sit and have your favorite cocktails after a day at the pool or beach. The condo is squeaky clean and well maintained. Zihua is a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather and Mexican food and there is no other place to stay than Sueno Del Mar.

While you may think that title of this review is a bit over the top ... we kid you not. We defy anyone to spend a week at Sueno del Mar and not be completely captivated by its beauty, charm, romance, luxury, and the well being that will envelope you the longer you stay there. The art in the condo is so very perfectly chosen; it was this and the view that first took our collective breath away. The owner Harriet was so easy to work with, very accommodating and so very helpful. The onsite staff were very friendly and helpful. The town also seemed to welcome us with open arms. We laughed, cried, loved, relaxed, lounged, played, slept, swam, read, sailed with Eddie, hiked, explored, shopped, cooked, ate, drank, and allowed the lingering winter cold to steadily drain out of our 50-something bodies ... to be replaced with wellness, no morning stiffness, no aches, no pains. We had no issues with bugs or critters. Yolanda kept the place immaculately clean for us. The only downside of this amazing place ... having to leave.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We can't say enough about how gracious Harriet was and how much we enjoyed her beautiful condo. The condo is 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a full washer and dryer in the second bedroom closet/storage area. The master bedroom has its own bathroom, and a private balcony that allows you to sit in bed and look out over Playa la Ropa. I am very particular and fussy, and this place met every expectation. The condo is fully stocked with everything you need - a full kitchen with all appliances and miscellaneous items (coffee maker, grinder, juice blender, you name it). Harriet was in Zihuatanejo and stopped by to say hello. We were getting ready to go to the grocery store, and Harriet gave us a bag of great coffee beans when she found out that we couldn't find any coffee in the condo unit. This place was fantastic!! 5 stars all the way.

Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

Caracol is one of my favorites...the strong beans of course! I loved having two exuberant happy couples staying in my place. I loved watching Angela in the mornings cruise effortlessly down the sand on a run. You were excellent guests. I know you are great at finding the best places to stay so I was honored that you chose us.

We had the privilege of calling Sueno del Mar "our home" for two weeks in January for our first trip to Zihuatenejo. This condo is even more beautiful than the pictures on this website, and what the pictures can't convey is the beauty of nature you'll experience from this place: the sound of the surf, the wonderful breezes and the drama of the sunsets. Everything in the condo was of excellent quality and in perfect working order. The art and accessories in every room are a delight and a beautifully equipped kitchen was an added treat. The rental process was great and the owner provided both an excellent guide to the condo and an "insiders''" guide to Zihuatenejo that was invaluable. I would absolutely recommend this property! During our stay, we enjoyed eating at lots of local restaurants: Paty's Mar y Mar and La Candela on La Ropa, La Casa Vieja and La Gula at La Madera, and Los Braceros and Coconuts in Zihua. We spent one Sunday evening with lots of local folks at the basketball court in Centro Zihua and ate some wonderful food from the street vendors. We enjoyed cocktails and sunsets at La Escorella and Las Brisas del Mar (though our condo was hard to top for this!) and music at Daniel's (Jimmy Mamou), Bandido's (Michelle La Valle) and La Casa Vieja (a charming pianist/singer whose name I've forgotten.) As for outings, we enjoyed and would recommend: we took a panga from the pier in Z to spend the day at Playa Las Gatas twice, took the bus to Playa Linda in Ixtapa then a panga to Isla Ixtapa for another day of hanging out. We enjoyed a great sunset cruise on the Piquante catamaran and rode buses to Barra de Potosi where we took a wonderful boat tour of the lagoon with Avi "Shark Boy." Bottom line: we loved many things to see and do in Zihua, but most of all, we loved coming home to Sueno del Mar!

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It's difficult to express just how beautiful Harriet and Rons' condo Sueno del Mar is!! The view is breathtaking and the condo is amazing. We had a wonderful vacation, Everything from restaurant and excursion tips found in Harriets guide book, the beach, the pools, the neighboring vacationers in other units,,,all was just fabulous. Harriet is so helpful and easy to communicate with, answering all our questions promptly either by phone or e-mail We are definately telling friends and family about this wonderful vacation location and are also looking forward to returning!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Sueno Del Mar is just what its name implies! The condo itself is absolutely gorgeous. As you drive up the steep stone driveway to the condo entrance, the magnificent Pacific Ocean is to your left, and the perfectly sculpted Casa Que Ve al Mar to your right. The condo complex itself is a mix of beautiful terra cotta and iron dirt red. Smiling faces are always ready to greet you at the gate and as you walk past the bougainvillea to the elevator, the sweet smell of flowers begin the relaxation experience immediately. Walking into the condo does not disappoint! The west facing wall is a large open window, looking directly at the ocean. The kitchen is quaint, but fully stocked with all necessities; coffee maker, Tupperware and lime juicer. The master bedroom has an amazing view, accompanied with a private lanai. Harriet has done a wonderful job placing plants appropriately to create optimal privacy. Unlike most vacation rentals I have found online, the photos are NOT deceiving. The condo is exactly as it is advertised…a Dream. The beach is a few minutes away by foot. The laundry room has all kinds of fun water toys and beach bags. Everything you need is provided. The beach was perfect for swimming, sun tanning and the consumption of beverages….but find somewhere else to eat. We usually had brunch in El Centro (town). I have enough Spanish to get by, but if my significant other had been left on his own, there would have been issues with getting a taxi to pick us up at the room. Harriet has an amazing guide book with all kinds of advice. The 35 peso water taxi rise to Las Gatas is absolutely worth it. We spent two days with Frank at Otilia’s on Las

PERFECT Honeymoon!

THANK YOU so much for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your beautiful and amazing condo this past week during our honeymoon. Your personal touches made us thankful everyday that we did not stay at a hotel. Waking up every morning to the sound of crashing waves and the view of the bay does wonders for those hoping to recharge their batteries. Your guide was perfect, and helped us navigate our stay! We love what we saw of Zihua and hope to come back in the future. The food was amazing in almost every restaurant. What we loved the most was the pace of life and the ease of being in Zihua. We walked everywhere, and the people were so friendly. The yoga at Paty's is great! In addition, we treated ourselves to Massages at Sotavento on the Beach. It was $30 for an hour and was one of the best massages either of us have ever had. Mark got a 30 minute massage where two therapists worked on him, and I had an hour massage which included a variety of techniques - would HIGHLY recommend this! We spent one date at Los Gatos and to be honest preferred La Ropa. Los Gatos seemed like a tourist trap to us, and we preferred the style and pace of being at La Ropa beach. This was a perfect honeymoon for us in so many ways. The views from your condo are breathtaking! You can tell the care you have put into the place, and the decorations are beautiful. I especially loved those stars that you had hanging from the Balcony and would love to get some for our new house in Baltimore! Your kitchen was stocked with everything we could have needed, and we filled it with just a few essentials for the 7 days. Yolanda provided us with wonderful service, and Eliezar was available for any questions we had. We came on this trip with grand expectations of all the things we were going to see and do, and we ended up staying close to home the whole time which was perfect. The biggest decisions we made were beach or pool and where would be like to eat? - SUCH a treat for 7 days! It was so nice to come "home" at the end of everyday, and we ended all of our days with a dip in the infinity pools just before sunset. We met quite a few people who live in the complex, and who were renting, and everyone was so nice and accommodating! Thank you, Harriet and Ron!

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed a week at Sueno del Mar in early May 2010. The photos do not do justice to the beauty of the condo. Harriet Garfinkle has decorated it with astounding Mexican art that fits perfectly with the décor. Her guide to Zihuatenajo, over 70 pages, was full of interesting information and tips that made our stay much more enjoyable. We felt that we really got to know the area in a short visit thanks to her guide. The staff at the condo could not have been nicer or more accommodating. All in all, a most enjoyable vacation.

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had an incredible escape from reality and so much enjoyed your (our) Dream of the Sea. Zihautanejo is an absolutely amazing place and a "Mexican Minute" is our new mantra... Sueno del Mar is our new fantasy! WOW WOW WOW !!! I will be writing back to you as soon as I have all the pictures and words to describe the most amazing time and place on Earth and quite possibly the Universe. We did journal our trip and so glad we did because it's all running together and our journal is the only way to keep our special memory in order, except that we will always remember what a phenomenal time we had in such a wonderful paradise! We lived your guide and are so thankful for it, so many spectacular things to see and do… Love Sueno del Mar, Zihautanejo, the Mexican people, and the wonderful staff at La Casa que Ve al Mar. Sueno del Mar was all that we had hoped for and more. It is truly a home - with all the comforts and thoughtfully chosen decor. We were struck by the beautiful, expressive folk art throughout the condo - from dishes to paintings to furnishings. Sunsets from the indoor/outdoor living spaces are spectacular. Harriet's and Ron's suggestions were (mostly) right on for restaurants, beaches, shopping and recreation. We'd like to add the Inn at Manzanillo Bay at Troncones for great lunches and a spectacular, deserted beach. Thank you so much for sharing Sueno Del Mar with us. We had the most wonderful, relaxing week. The condo is beautifully decorated and we had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The view was unbelievable! The perfect place to watch the sun set while we had margaritas in the evening! We visited many of the restaurants you recommended in your guide and all the food was excellent. The beach was a short walk away and was perfect for swimming. This was our first visit to Mexico and we found the people so friendly and helpful. Again, thank you for the perfect week!

Recently my husband and I had the pleasure of spending three weeks at Sueno Del Mar in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. We stayed with another couple and we all enjoyed the beautifully decorated condo. Harriet, the owner, has written a comprehensive local guide and even though we have visited Zihua many times, there were many helpful suggestions in her notebook. The living room and master bedroom views are absolutely spectacular. The infinity pools are wonderful. Yolanda, the maid, is very efficent and sweet. Vladimir, the security manager was very professional and personable. We hope to return next year to this lovely condo. Thank you, Harriet, for opening your home to others.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. The minute we opened the front door it felt as though we were home. We enjoyed the open air living and dining area. Your boogie boards were used daily and the waves were perfect for riding on. We had some great times and look forward to coming back again some day.PN, MinnesotaOnly a week here wasn’t quite enough! Time went by so quickly. So much to see and do. The condo is so comfortable and gorgeous. We really like it here and hope to have a chance to come again. The view is spectacular!
