Location: Lakeland, Central-Disney-Orlando Area, Florida, USA (Minutes from I4 between Tampa and Orlando, Detroit Tigers)
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: House
This house is a beautiful and comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath on the 10th hole at Sandpiper Golf and Country Club, a superbly manicured, active retirement community in Lakeland, Florida. There are queen size beds in both bedrooms. There is also a queen pullout sofa in the Florida room for additional sleeping.
Each bedroom has a large walk-in closet. Bedrooms, living room and Florida room are carpeted. Entryway, kitchen, dining room, baths and laundry room have white tile flooring. A formal dining room which seats 8 and an open breakfast area which seats 4 or more, are easily accessible from the kitchen. From the Florida room, where we spend most of our time when in residence, there is a marvelous view of the 10th hole and it's sandtrap. Those great Florida sunsets appear in the same windows quite regularly, as well.
Quiet neighborhood with lots of sidewalks, friendly neighbors, and access to the great amenities in the community facilities, such as heated pools, spa, exercise room, tennis courts, shuffleboard, and much more, and popular activities within the community are part of your rental. Golf is great here, though is not included in the rental package. Arrange your games for yourself on this very popular championship course. The main community center and Golf Club are only a block away.
Walk, although many folks use golf carts, which are not provided, to grocery shopping, drive a couple of miles to Lakeland Square Mall and other shopping, drive 3 miles to Detroit Tigers training camp games when in season, drive 20 minutes to Cypress Gardens, a Winter Haven, 30 minutes to Disney and Universal Studios in Orlando, Historic Book Sanctuary at Lake Wales Gardens, about the same to Busch Gardens in Tampa, a little over an hour to the Gulf Beaches of Clearwater and St. Pete. We are natives, ask us.
Lakeland did not get its name for no reason. There are myriad lakes around the area, in which we keep your fish alive and growing, waiting for you to claim them, and waterskiing and boating is happily done year-round.

I had the pleasure of living at this property in June of 2009. The property was just as described there were no suprises. The rooms are most spacious and we were not on top of each other. The greens on the course could have been better, but I cant fault the owners for that. Gene & Marsha told us everything we needed to know upon our arrival, and we did not have to bother them any more. They gave us 2 numbers in case of emergency. The neighbors were nice, and the we felt like we were in a very secure enviroment. The only dislike I had was there are only two televisions in the house & one of those is a 13inch. There is also no internet service on the property, but an internet cafe is not that far away from the property. Outside of that, I would recommend this property to anyone.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, people with disabilities.
