This was a great place to use as our home base. Yes, the photos are accurate, the apartment is charming and quiet, and close to the U-tube although we never used public transportation. We rented bikes from Fat Tire over by the zoo on our first afternoon and never gave them back till we were done four days later. (Fat Tire was okay with this, we did call them from time to time) It turns out that Berlin is fantastic for bike riding to everywhere. Even in October. There is a little quickie mart on the corner of the street - you can almost see it in one of the photos. Its next to the Ubahn stop but its basically a 7-11 kind of mart. KaDeWe will be happy to sell you all the groceries you might possibly conceive a need for - but that is a very overwhelming food floor extravaganza. Instead, consider a larger, better stocked store over by Wittenbergplatz with amazing sausage and very patient german speaking counter clerks. Kaiser? I've already forgotten the name. It was great to stay here and I commend it to all who may follow. One little thing - and this is more about me then our hosts - my timeline for contacting and being contacted was a touch tighter then the apartment owners' timeline. But I can be anxious like that. In each case, Liz was dependable and delivered. So - I guess my message is this - Liz is trustworthy, be patient. And please feel confident about renting this apartment. Its charming.

Perfect location for visiting Berlin. The apartment is lovely and more spacious than it looks in the picture. Although it is on a quiet side street, it's less than a five-minute walk to be in the hub of the city. Wish we could have stayed longer. The balcony is an extra plus for relaxing after a long day of touristing.

My wife and I decided to stay in this apartment for 5 days in early June 2011 based on its description and the favorable reviews on this site. We found it to be as advertised: great central location, convenient to grocery store, U-Bahn, and restaurants. Clean and spacious with ample storage. Double-paned glass helps dampen city noise. The housekeeper greeted us on arrival and everything worked fine, although you may need the instructions provided by the owner to operate the washer and stove. The owner promptly refunded our damage deposit after our stay and was a pleasure to work with.

We stayed in Berlin over New Year's and liked this apartment a lot. It's close to the subway, restaurants and shopping - yet quiet and comfy.

I stayed 8 nights in this apartment with my sister and we both agreed it was fabulous. Excellent location -- fabulous grocery store with in house bakery, deli, fresh produce, and good wine selection in the basement of the nearby Karstad Department Store, a short walk to Zoo Station, which is a major transportation hub for buses and trains, and excellent tourist info centre just off the Kudamm. The apartment is spacious, immaculate, and well equipped. It has a nice little balcony. Small bathroom and kitchen (but more than adequate) and large bedroom and living/dining area. I absolutely recommend this apartment. In fact, I loved Berlin so much that I am planning to return next year with my husband and will definitely want to stay in this apartment.

Absolutely recommend this apartment. It is spacious, clean, and well equipped. Also very reasonably priced. Excellent location near the Zoo Station, which is a transportation hub for buses and trains. There is a fabulous grocery store in the basement of the Karstad Department store a block and a half away. In house deli, bakery, fresh produce, good wine selection. There is also a very helpful tourist office nearby just off the Kudamm. My sister and I stayed here for 8 nights and found the apartment so comfortable to come home to after a day`s sightseeing. I loved Berlin and definitely plan to return. When I do, I will want to stay in this apartment again.
