Welcome to "Ocean Escape" located on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Bodega Bay. Our panoramic view extends from the Pt Reyes Lighthouse in the south and includes Tomales Bay,Dillion Beach, Bodega Bay and Bodega Head in the north. From your hot tub or large wrap-around deck, you can watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets, see the fog roll in, bird-watch,and listen to the fog horn and the seals.
Come and escape the inland heat and enjoy beautiful morning walks on the beach. We are located on a 12-acre plot surrounded by a 500-acre cattle ranch that is just south of the Bodega Bay Harbour development and golf course and ends at the Pacific Ocean and the Estero Americano (a salt water river that extends four and a half miles inland-great for canoeing or kayaking).
If you are looking for an "off-the-beaten path" place that is still near civilization, then you will enjoy the peace and quiet of our space. You enter the property through a locked gate and travel on a gravel road.There is a short five to ten minute walk down the hill on a private road to a limited access private beach and the Estero and a slow invigorating hike back up.
Ocean Escape is two-Identical one-bedroom modulars connected with a large wrap-around deck and hot tub overlooking the ocean. Ocean Escape IS RENTED AS 1 UNIT and since they are both fully furnished, it is ideal for renting by two couples, a couple and their parents/in-laws or a family with children sleeping in their own place just 10 feet next door. To preserve the delicate balance we have with the land and nature, we have a MAXIMUM occupancy of 4-7 including children(4 total beds). This is an ideal locale for artists,writers,bird-watchers,beach combers or anyone who wants to enjoy a natural setting and ocean life.
We feel this is a one-of-a-kind property which offers privacy,seclusion and wonderful views and beach walks. Take the time to investigate and we are sure you will want to stay with us.

Our stay at Ocean Escape could not have been more perfect. My husband and I came all the way from cold Pennsylvania for our honeymoon and wanted 2 things - Privacy and Warmth. We couldn't have chosen a better place! The weather was PERFECT but more than that, the cabin was well stocked and absolutely beautiful. We were so secluded and loved exploring the beaches (on which there was NO ONE!), kayaking up the estero and driving a few hours north to see some MASSIVE redwoods. We went horseback riding, enjoyed the small town restaurants and shops and grilled out on the porch after watching the sunset over the ocean from the hot-tub. There are simply not enough words to describe how perfect this vacation spot was. If we never vacation anywhere but here ever again, we will be perfectly happy! Dave & Diane (& Steve too!!), thanks for everything - you were so wonderful and helpful and made our honeymoon one we will remember for the rest of our lives. Can't WAIT to visit again soon...& bring all our friends!

There were unexpected things like a basket of treats, premium channels including fox soccer channel, and even a first aid kit if we needed it. No condiments though; I would bring a few packets of ketchup and mustard... Meticulously kept units.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My husband, two boys and I came up to get away for a week. We also brought our 2 energetic dogs. The houses were wonderful and had all the extras we could need. We had a blast at the beach. the kayaks and canoe were great on the Ewstero. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a great week!

This was our first visit to Ocean Escape, but it won't be our last. We loved our time here! The location is spectacular. It's a perfect place for two couples. Axel the dog loved the beach too. We especially enjoyed the canoe/kayak trips on the Estero. thanks for everything!

Our first trip to California was made particularly beautiful by our stay here at Ocean Escape. The serenity of the landscape and the seclusion form mayor city noise and commotion made it a perfect getaway from daily life. We were lucky to be able to take a trip on the canoe out on the Estero and enjoyed the view from the hot tub on many nights. Thank you so much for the hospiltality- we are already making plans for our next visit!

This place is such a wonderful surprise...The weather has been gorgeous the whole time! Some highlights have been seeing whales, kayaking the Estero and seeing a seal swim close by, and finding abalone shells hidden in the tidepools where there TONS of starfish, sitting in the hot tub hearing the sea lions bark in the distance. We hope to make this place a regular vacation spot from now on. You have been wonderful and so attentive!

This is an amazing place! We loved the quiet, peaceful, landscape and ocean view.Having the beach as private as it is, was just awesome! The beauty and splendor of the ocean was so enjoyed w/out mobs of people. The weather was wonderful for this time of year! Really enjoyed the little extras and welcoming environment. Very,very nice way to spend family holiday!

I can't really be sure that 3 weeks can go by so quickly! This makes 4 times here, sharing Ocean Escape with our friends, experiencing all that the Sonoma Coast has to offer. This place is quiet, comfortable and a great base of operations for exploring all that wine country has to offer.

A lovely few days in this very special place-walking along the beach was especially memorable. Shame about the fog, but coming from the Atlantic coast of Soutwest England, I am well -used to it. Very comfortable accomodations and great deck!
