This was our first time using VRBO so we were a little hesitant about sending money site unseen to someone we hadn't met but decided to take the leap. It couldn't have gone better. Right from booking the e:mail responses have been so prompt. The Condo...WOW, we absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it. It's actually better than described. On top of what is listed in the description, there is a hairdryer, a decent sized toaster oven, really a fully equiped kitchen. The apartment was spotless and the view is absolutely to die for...we thought we were spoiled last year at the Hyatt, the view is so much better. The Condo is about a 15 minute walk from the main part of Waikiki with tons of restaurants and great shopping within walking distance.

Every detail had been taken care of. The three things we liked the BEST about this condo were the super comfortable king bed, the free internet which connected very well and the included free parking pass. Parking at the Ilikai cost $25/day normally so we appreciated the cost saving. The view from the room is spectacular and all the mirrors enhance it. The unit was quiet. It faced the ocean not the busy road. It was easy walking distance to the Convention Center and the Ala Moana Shopping Centre as well as the beach. We would stay here again when back in Honolulu.

We have stayed on Waikiki numerous times and this was by far our best experience. As they say location, location, location... this condo is located on the quiet side of Wakiki Beach, with the most amazing view, but all you have to do is walk around the corner and up the street and you are in the center of where all the action is; we like to get out and do things and then have a restful/noise-free room where we can relax and get a good night's sleep, and this condo definately offers that. Many of the condos that we have stayed in prior are managed by large property managment companies and it shows; conversely, the owners of this place have literally thought of everything and anything that you could possibly need and it is all there in the condo waiting for you (things like beach chairs, travel guides, maps, discount coupons, picnic dishes, etc). We also appreciated that the kitchen was fully equiped, the dishes and towels were plentiful and new-like/matching, and that there was soap ( hand, dish and dishwasher), papertowels, toilet paper and all such necessities supplied. This unit is completely remolded, and tastefully decorated with modern furniture. The bed has the most comfortable matress that we have ever slept on. In other words, everything is just like it is presented in the VRBO listing; no trick photography here. The owners has made the absolute most out of this unit and combined it with a personal touch of hospitality that guarantees a most enjoyable stay. P.S Oahu is a beautiful and special place. Even if you don't have a car while you are on Oahu, try to get out and see the island a bit (the mass transit system is great: believe it or not, you can see the majority of the island by public transit). Also a trip to the Bishop Museum, which is considered to be the finest Polynesian anthropological museum in the entire world, will really give you a much greater appreciation/clearer understanding of Hawaii's real identity.

We loved this apartment and thought it was great value. The pictures are a true indication of what the apartment is like - great views! It is nice and clean and it is well stocked and the bed is extremely comfortable! The pool in the hotel looked pretty boring but with the beach at your door we never even bothered with it. The hotel does appear quite old but this apartment has been renovated and is really lovely. We were very sorry to leave because we loved our stay. Thanks very much Kamakani

We stayed 2 short nights here & loved it! The view from the balcony was the perfect way to start & end each day. The unit is clean & modern. The bed is very comfortable. The locale is great--at the start of Waikiki so you're close to the action, yet separate. When we first arrived at the unit late at night, we gasped at the view. In the morning, we found the view even better. It was enjoyable watching the surfers, parasailers & ships, as well as see the sun set over the water. Given the historic nature of the Illikai, it was special to stay here & in a renovated condo. We even saw the filming of a scene for the new Hawaii Five-O. I understand they have sets below in the harbor. Next time, we'll stay longer!

Imagine you are a stone's throw from the north (quiet) end of Waikiki Beach. Your on the 20th floor, staring through a wall to wall window in direct line to a dazzling sunset. A sailboat cuts across the glint of the sun, followed by a string of outrigger boats. You walk out onto the balcony, breath in the air and look at the clouds as they cruise west past Honolulu. This was how it was, every day! Kamakani hasn't over-hyped this room at all. It was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The bed was a comfy Tempurpedic King (hard to find in Hawaii). The kitchenette was wonderful. There are many restaurants nearby, the Hilton Village is a short walk, and every tram in the world stops directly in front of the condos. Several rental car agencies are literally across the street. 5 minutes from the condo is wading lagoon, and a jetty to watch the surfers from. The marina is just below the room, and you feel like you would see Gilligan and the Skipper motoring out at any moment. Kamakani is serious about making sure your stay is a comfortable one. We had a couple minor snafus that were addressed promptly. He couldn't have been kinder. The transaction is very simple, and security deposit promptly returned. NOTE: A serious perk of staying here: Parking is FREE!!! Kama has a pass for a nearby garage. If you stay at any hotel nearby, be prepared to pay $20-30 just to park your rental that's already costing you $60 a day. Best advice I can give: DO NOT SHOP AT ABC MARKETS or FOODLAND!!!!! Unless you feel like taking out a second mortgage to buy a handful of groceries, take the pink trolley to Ala Moana Mall. Walk through the mall to the back side, then about 2 blocks to WalMart and Sams Club. It was the only reasonably priced food around. The mall itself was just okay - unless you intend to really shop high-end (Chartier, Tiffany's, etc....), it wasn't really worth all the walking required (in our opinion...). Also nearby at the Ward Mall was a cozy restaurant was a fun arcade that was a blast, even for adults (we are in our late 40's). It was Dave and Busters. It is a chain, but if you haven't been, the food was excellent. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed this condo and would highly recommend it. Thanks Kama!

We stayed at Kama's condo for 4 days in Sep'10. The condo is very clean and comfortable, everything in this condo looks new, the ocean and sunset views are wonderful! there are beach chairs, umbrella and cooler in the condo for us to take to the beach every day (we found this is very thoughtful, Thanks Kama!). Our deposit was quickly refunded after couple of days of check out. We highly recommend this condo to everyone visiting Oahu. Thanks Kama again for a wonderful accommodation!

My wife & I have stayed at this Condo for 3 times already. And every time we stayed there we're always impressed at how comfortable the bed is (actually the most comfortable bed my wife & I have ever slept on). The view from the balcony is just amazing. The room is very clean & spacious. They sure put lots of upgrades in this condo. We plan on staying there every time we go to Honolulu. We just love that place so much!

Sometimes pictures or descriptions are not up to expectations, but this condo was more than expected. The condo is essentially brand new, certainly well-kept, and the finishes from granite to nice appliances to a world class bed make this condo (and we searched and looked at many) probably the best in the Ilikai complex. But the owner: Well, we have traveled around the world, and Kamakani is one of most hospitable, first class people we have ever come across. Every attention to detail was met both in hospitality and the condo itself. There is a reason this condo is rented year round! Kama ensures your stay will be perfect!! Thanks for the great stay....please keep a few weeks open for us!!

We stayed in this unit in January of 2010 for our honeymoon and were pleased with absolutely everything. The unit is gorgeous and is equipped exactly as advertised. We found the location to be outstanding and extremely convinient. Equally as important, the owners are an absolute pleasure to deal with and their courtesy and professionalism is second to none. We would highly recommend this unit to anybody wanting to stay in the Waikiki area. We know we will return here!! Mahalo!

This is an amazing place to stay!! The views from the lanai are incredible from rainbows to sunsets. We were able to plan everything we wanted to do right down stairs. Everyone was very helpful. However, everything you needed was right in your condo no need to worry about housekeeping!! The bed was extremely comfortable and apparently the couch is too because our daughter never opened the sofa bed. You’re only a short bus ride to down town, however, there are plenty of eating and shopping places within walking distance. We also really enjoyed the lagoon. This was our first trip to Hawaii and now we can’t wait to go back but, when we do we will definitely want to stay here again.

Beautiful views over the marina, super comfy king-size bed, clean and well maintained, a kitchen well supplied with all you need to cook with, and pleasant and quick to respond persons to deal with. All this makes for a hassle-free memorable vacation destination, one to surely come back to.

This is an exceptionally clean and newly renovated studio with all "top of the line" furniture and appliances. It has a great ocean front view and is one of the rare units in the area away from major traffic noise. Being from Kauai, it is difficult to find a quiet place in Waikiki to stay. Hopefully, it will be available when we need to stay again.

The honeymoon suite with a most amazing view, centered in the heart of paradise. It sounds to good to be true, but it was a dream come true for us. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, the condo is amazing. All the work that has been completed to the space is incredible. We peaked in some of the unrenovated places and learned how lucky we were to be able to stay here. The kitchen had everything we needed, from utensils to a microwave. The whole place is outstanding and comfortable. It was difficult to leave everyday just to experience the paradise of Hawai'i. The views are breath taking. Something to see for yourself. I took around 300 pictures from the balcony alone. It is very private, a perfect home away from home in paradise.
