Recently renovated, handicap accessible, attractively furnished, bright and airy home with WiFi sits high on a hillside facing southwest for amazing water view sunsets and abundant sunlight throughout the day.
The home has 2 master bedroom suites, each with its own private bath & TV, plus a 3rd full bath, 2 additional bedrooms and a bonus room with 2 queen size futons making it ideal for 2 families to share the home, or to comfortably accommodate guests.
Waterfront with a private dock on Potter's Pond, a pristine salt pond, this is a perfect location for clamming, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, windsurfing, boating, water- and jet-skiing.
An extra wide outdoor deck overlooks the tranquil salt pond and is perfect for family gatherings and barbecues. Only 1 mile to great family ocean beach with all amenities (lifeguards; food; bathrooms), and great waves for body surfing and boogie boarding.
Enjoy all 4 seasons in East Matunuck. Of course, Summer is the premium season for beachgoing and watersports, but Winter and Spring are great for tranquility, wood-stove fires, and the beauty of uncrowded off-season beach strolls with the pounding surf and windblown sand. The Spring sunshine helps to warm the brisk ocean air, and there are usually a number of days of sunbathing weather in May & June, if not at the beach, then on the deck where the off shore winds are calmer. The winter surf attracts a hardy group of die-hard surfers (including our son), who swear that the technology of modern wetsuits keeps them warm in the coldest of nor'easters, which produce the best waves of the year. If you can't join them, you can watch!
September is a local secret, with the warmest ocean temperatures of the year. The absence of tourists and crowds makes the beaches close to private, and the best restaurants are much easier to access without reservations. Those who vacation in South County at this time of year understand the local bumper sticker 'Pray for Labor Day'. In October, the outstanding foliage and fishing are great attractions.
Tired of the crowds, congestion, and traffic of the Cape? South County RI was selected as one of the 12 best places to vacation by CNN's Money Magazine in April 2001. Not only are the beaches beautiful, but also nearby are golf courses, tennis, shopping, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, mini-golf, bumper boats, go-carts -even an indoor ice skating rink!
For a little culture, there is a variety of museums and galleries to visit. This home is centrally located between Watch Hill & Narragansett for easy access to great dining and sightseeing. Enjoy outdoor performances? Your choices range from Blues on the Beach to the RI Philharmonic Orchestra to Shakespeare in the Park.
Easy day trips include catching the ferry to Block Island or Martha's Vineyard, sightseeing in Newport, or chartering a fishing boat from the local marina. Catch the famous 'Waterfire' in historic Providence. Other area attractions in neighboring Connecticut include Mystic Seaport & Aquarium, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun Casinos, and the Pequot Museum. Owner provides comprehensive guide to local attractions & activities.

This home was everything described and more! The home is spacious, comfortably and tastefully furnished, and has a knock-out view of the salt pond. One of our family members uses a wheelchair and was able to fully enjoy the main floor and deck. The deck is enormous and was the scene of delightful cookouts most evenings, and quiet time for reading and observing birds and wildlife early in the morning. Access to the ocean beach is a quick drive or bike ride. Be sure to try the chowder at Jim's Dock.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/5
