This bright, elegant Georgian (1760) flat is your perfect pied-a-terre in Central London. Situated in a very quiet, very safe tree lined side street just off Brunswick Sq in the heart of Bloomsbury, it's barely five minutes walk from Russell Square tube (Piccadilly line) or the double decker buses on Southampton Row. A pleasant ten minute walk though Russell Sq Gardens will take you to the British Museum or up to Kings Cross and the British Library; or twenty minutes (or two tube stops) to Covent Garden and ten minutes more to Shaftesbury Ave and the West End theatres.

The whole building was completely refurbished in 2005 and this first floor flat (second floor in US) is a charming place to return to after a busy day of sight seeing or shopping. Retaining the original marble fireplace and cream painted shutters, the high ceilings and long Georgian windows give a feeling of space and light whilst modern, quality furniture ensures your comfort.

Both the queen-size bed and the sofa bed have deep mattresses, the comfortable chairs are of cream leather, the kitchen area is fully equipped and the pull-out dining table easily seats four. The bathroom has shower/bath, basin, toilet and heated towel rail and the separate utility/laundry room on the landing has a sink, washer and dryer, iron/board and room to store luggage.

The Brunswick Centre, Bloomsburys new High St. is moments away and affords great grocery shopping at gourmet supermarket Waitrose, two Chemists, a Starbucks, the artsy Renoir Cinema and a selection of interesting restaurants and a small Farmers Market on Weds and Sats.
Travel to the flat is excellent with Heathrow just an hour away, straight through on the Piccadilly line. The Eurostar train to Paris/Brussels is 10 minutes walk or one tube stop, similarly to Euston Station. With Liverpool St.(Stanstead) or Victoria (Gatwick) a short cab ride away, this delightful home away from home has the advantage of being in a most central location and yet enjoying a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood setting.

A recent visitor from VA says...'we LOVED the flat. The location was superb, we fell in love with Waitrose and enjoyed walking in the gardens nearby. The light was wonderful and the history of the house fascinating, we had never seen windows with shutters like that! You had thought of everything - the advantage of you the owners living here part of the time is that it is so well equipped and comfortable. We definitely want to come again.

  • This was the perfect accommodation for our family on our first trip abroad with our two boys, aged 11 and 13. The flat was quite comfortable and well equipped for all our needs, and the location couldn't have been better. Having the large Waitrose grocery store so close made it easy for us to pick up food and drinks in the morning for our daily trips out and about. Having the tube just around the corner made returning home in the late afternoon a breeze, and the loads of great restaurants within 5 to 15 minutes' walk meant that dinner was easy and convenient. And knowing how messy boys can be sometimes, it was good that a washing machine was close at hand had we needed it. Judith was full of great information leading up to our trip, and the book in the flat was also quite helpful. And Antonia (Judith's daughter who looks after the flat) was very quick to respond when we needed help with anything. We will highly recommend this flat to friends and family, and hope we'll be able to use it again on a future trip!

  • What a wonderful place to stay; quiet, but convenient. The apartment was very spacious, the private washer/dryer was a big help, and the bed and chairs very comfortable. Lots of good tips in the notebook in the apartment. All-in-all a great find, and we look forward to renting it again when we return to London.

  • Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Flat is very clean, modern and homey. Perfect location - close enough to walk to two tube stops, shopping center, British Museum & Library, and Wagamama! Whenever wife and I make it back to London, we will definitely try to stay here again.

  • This flat was in a perfect location. Close to the tube and the Brunswick shopping center with restaurants, and a great market. After exploring London all day we walked through the center and stopped at the market for items we needed for the next day. The pictures on vrbo were accurate and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the manual in the flat with great suggestions for restaurants,etc. We loved the Acorn restaurant. We are happy we chose this flat and would stay again in the future.

  • Great place. Close to the City for business and Soho and Covent Garden for fun. The apartment was clean, efficient, comfortable. Everything worked great. Terrific grocery store across the street in Brunswick Center. Great pubs nearby in Lambs Conduit and Russell Square. I was there on business by myself, but I would definitely bring my family back to this apartment.

  • We stayed in this flat September 2-9, 2007. It was our first time to London and we loved this flat. It is beautiful, great location and made our time in London more fun knowing we were coming back to this flat at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We began to think of this as 'our' flat in London! :) There are plenty of inexpensive, good places to eat nearby. Between those places to eat and eating in the flat, we saved quite a bit on our budget. The owner is wonderful to work with and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Judith for such a wonderful place!!

  • Great flat! Excellent location for launching a wonderful week in London. The description was very accurate. Great grocery across the street, good restaurants in the neighborhood and a short walk to the British Museum and British Library.
