The apartment is on the sixth floor of a modest century-old apartment building one block from the Ecole Militaire and within a few blocks of the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. A major attraction of this location is rue Cler, a pedestrian neighborhood market street lined with shops and restaurants. The apartment is one block from rue Cler (via the narrow Passage de la Vierge) and four blocks from the Seine, about twenty minutes’ walk to the Champs-Elysees.

The 400 square foot apartment consists of a bedroom with queen-size bed, a sitting room with foldaway couch and dining table, kitchen, large bathroom with tub, shower, and double sink, separate water closet, and entry hall. Furnishings are early-21st century Ikea and a couple of older pieces, plus walls of paintings, prints and maps. The books include a full selection of Paris and France guidebooks.

The apartment has a full length balcony facing west toward sunset and the Eiffel Tower over the rooftops. Street noise is minimal and muffled by the height of the apartment and trees on the broad avenue Bosquet. Do google-map the address, enter 73 avenue Bosquet Paris 7eme.

The apartment was completely renovated in 2001 and the entryway and stairwell in 2003. There is NO elevator, so prospective renters should be prepared for a healthy climb and efficient planning of sorties. No smoking, please.

The rate is €1000 per week. This is roughly the price of a small room at a nice hotel in the neighborhood. Under some circumstances we prorate at €160 per night, but seldom for less than four nights. The apartment is managed by its owners, an American couple who live not far away in the seventh arrondissement, and is their only rental property.

    • We loved staying in this apartment. The location was great, the view (of the Eiffel Tower, from both the living room and the bedroom) was spectacular, and the accomodations were quite comfortable. We thought the absence of an ascenseur might be a problem, but it was not. Walking the stairs helped us stay fit for the two weeks the we spent exploring Paris. We look forward to staying there again.

The apratment was absolutely the perfect size for our family, and provided all the stuff we needed to make it a terrific home base for our visit to Paris. Our initial fear of having no lift was soon put to rest. The walk up was no problem whatsoever, even after our 10-12 hour days of walking and touring Paris.
