This beautful home was perfect for staying and seeing Washington D.C.. It is nicely furnished, has a kitchen, and is located right next to the Supreme Court. I would highly recommend staying here when in town.

Good choice

My husband and I enjoyed this townhosue. It's charming, as in antiqueish (sp.?). Convenient, clean, comfortable. Definitely need to add Wi-Fi! Washer & dryer were a godsend - pack light! We walked to most places though Capitol South Metro closeby. Head to Barrack's Row/8th Avenue for a quick meal - or better yet shop for fresh food at Eastern Market. "Tune Inn" had a great burger and fries. Would stay there again, if they add wi-fi.... (Also - not keen on the watersaver shower head.)

great location

What a cute place, great location. Union Station and Capitol South Metro were short walks away. And everything else on the mall is a nice walk or a short bus ride. Eastern Market is also a short walk and has some great markets...go on a weekend for sure to see the amazing artists and their wears. We love to cook in and that is why we chose a place with a kicthen...The kitchen needed help. A good cleaning and more items to cook with. There were a pots with out lids, we used cookie sheets for lids. There were tons of baking type pans. The stove is small, the size I grew up so that was more than fine. The house could use a good overall cleaning. The wood blinds and windows had not been cleaned in a very long time. The beds were very comfortable, firm but not stiff as a board, a good nights sleep is always a bonus. Our dad had a hard time with the stairs in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Also would highly recommend the owners to add Wi-fi or come kind of internet access which is key now days to have for those of us who do not have a iphone or similar product to use. Research public transportation before going, that is where wi-fi would have been the most helpful...as that was a hard one to figure out. We would stay here again if there were more than just the usual two of us traveling.

Our DC vacation townhouse

Guest: Amy (Belleville, Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 06/12/10 Review Submitted: 07/03/10

We found this property was the perfect location for our DC trip. You can walk to the Capitol, Library of Congress, the botanical gardens, the Supremem Court Justice and the metro, to name a few. We enjoyed coming back to the townhouse getting cleaned up after a day of touring and being able to find great food right inthe neighborhood. We enjoyed "The Good Stuff Eatery", "White Tiger" and an italian pizza joint. The owners were incredibly thourough and tmely about answering all my questions prior to our coming out. The property was clean and had all the necessities. Our children (10 and 12) loved the charming Shabby Chic interior The only disappointment was the back patio was really too small to sit out as a family of four. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Great Location and well worth the money ...

Guest: Jimmy&Christel (Springtown, TX, USA)
Date of Stay: 05/02/10 Review Submitted: 05/13/10

We had a great experience staying in this townhouse. Very economical when you consider the fully furnished kitchen and laundry facility inside the home. First I want to state the cons just to get them out of the way. Not a deal breaker and I will stay there again, but need to point them out anyway. 1) There were dirty towels on the floor when I arrived; therefore we changed the sheets on the bed just to make sure that we were sleeping on clean sheets. The place appeared to be clean, but I wasn't 100% sure. 2) The beds were not the most comfortable in the world. I have slept on worse in major hotel chains, but I am funny when it comes to beds. I think hotels/VRBO's should be built around the bed, not an afterthought. 3) No hairdryer Now for the Pros, there are too many to list, but I will do my best. 1) As stated two Metro stops within walking distance, and once you figure out the Metro the entire city is opened up to you. 2) Very safe location, 24-hour Federal Guards all around 2nd street for the Federal Buildings so it is a safe walk from Union Station at all hours. 3) Well equipped, everything you need is already there (except hair dryer) and a complete laundry facility. They even brought in Detergent & Bleach. So you can pack light and save on the check bag fees. 4) For me having the bedrooms upstairs was perfect. I had to work during the day, but my wife and her friend could stay up late and watch TV without disturbing me. 5) The quaint atmosphere, I cannot stress enough how great the townhouse & surrounding areas were so much more appealing than staying in a hotel. The neighbors were super friendly. Like I said I could go on and on about the accommodations, but I am limited to the number of characters. This place was great, and I can honestly tell you that I will stay here again. And I will recommend this to my co-workers as we travel to DC on a fairly regular basis. I also would like to recommend filling your grocery order online and have them delivered. So for about the cost of a cab ride your groceries will be delivered in a two-hour window of your choice and you do not have to hassle with it. I also recommend that you take a cab to and from the airport (DCA) Its only about $14 and it beats lugging your luggage from the Metro, it may only be 3 blocks, but they are huge blocks. I highly recommend staying at this townhouse, hope this helps in your decision.

This townhouse has a great location. You are close to Capital Mall, the subway, Union Station and Eastern Market. It is only about a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport. The unit is furnished nicely and is clean. It is on a quiet little alleyway less than a block from the back of the Supreme Court. Much nicer than staying at a hotel.

My sister and I stayed for 5 nights in this townhouse . It is perfect, it is much better than a hotel. It is a cosy little house, convenient, well equipped, clean, with perfect beds. (Though we were only with the two of us, it is large enough for 4 persons.) The location is ideal, quiet and centrally located, just a 5 minutes walk from the capitol. And at Pennsylvania Ave (SE), which is a 10 min. walk, there are some nice bars and restaurant and a grocery store (and a Starbucks). We love Washington DC and we had a wonderful time!

This unit is in a great location. With easy access to the Capitol South and Union Station Metro stops, getting around Washington D.C. was a breeze. The unit itself is clean, charming and quiet. The owners have provided comfortable cotton linens and down comforters for the beds and nice thick towels for the bathroom. We loved our time in the apartment and in the city. We are lookin forward to our return visit.
