Lovely home, great pool, beautiful surroundings. My husband and I enjoyed swimming and sunning by day, star watching and listening to the sounds of the surf and howler monkeys by night. We saw a variety of beautiful butterflies in the yard, including Blue Morphos. Coati Mundis came to visit one day as well as a troup of Howler monkeys. The magnificant Toucans visited daily as did a variety of other beautiful birds. The house itself is very comfortable with lovely stone tiled bathrooms. Close to three beaches and nice ocean view. We would definitely recommend Casa Mono for others wishing to have a private, peaceful retreat in the jungle and we hope to return as well. Thank you Sheri!
Owner response:Thank you Anne, Glad to hear you love the house and location as much as we do! Would love to have you as a returning guest. Pura Vida, Sheri

Words can't describe how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa Mono. The house is beautiful and the property and surroundings are breathtaking! The sounds of the Howler Monkeys and the colorful Toucans in the trees filled our days with awe, We felt like the sloth that hung around the trees became like a pet while we were there and the Capuchin Monkeys came around every few days to say hi. We enjoyed the many beautiful beaches and the small villages nearby had everything we needed! Can't wait to return!
Owner response:Thank you Richard, Blissful is a good choice! Glad to hear you love the house and wildlife as much as we do! Would love to have you as a returning guest. Pura Vida, Sheri

After spending a little over two weeks at the home for our honeymoon, my new wife and I have decided that this is by far our favorite area compared to all our combined travels. Not heavy with tourist-Unless you want it, the area is great with local flavors and the best restaurants. State ran beaches in the area are super clean and we were the only ones there many days. The house is great, every morning we ate breakfast and listened to the monkeys all around us on the mountain. Great pool- perfect for cooling off and the house has all the comforts. What a great view… By far our favorite, easy to get to from the airport with many fun stops in-between with great fun. From this location we fished, canopy toured, bird watched, white water rafted, visited the local indigenous Indians, had surfing lessons, and ate at lots of great local restaurants, sea kayaking, hiking, and most of all watched great sunsets. This area is a gem. An absolute must visit for nature, culture, and great adventures.

Our family of six (3 young teens and 3 adults) stayed at Casa Mono for 2 weeks in early Feb/10. (second visit to CR; we are seasoned vacation home renters). We had a great time! The views were astounding as were the gardens and the wildlife: butterflies, birds, howlers and blooms abound! The property was clean, and well maintained and provided all the basic amenities required of a jungle/mountain holiday home. The rural access road is typical for the area: 4WD vehicles, only! The staff were very attentive, helping us with tour arrangements, etc. We did horseback riding, snorkelling, boat touring, hiking, swimming in local waterfalls, zip lining, etc. The beaches were beautiful: great for body surfing but be wary of riptides! Although well hidden, restaurants abound within a short drive, and there are many diverse and tasty options. The grocery stores in the area were well-stocked and competitively priced. This is a beautiful, un-touristy area of CR that is highly worth the trip!

Because of business related issues, I had to go many times to the Osa Peninsula, and fell in love. When I stayed at this house, pulled me in even more. The breathtaking view, sorrounded by nature, monkeys making their noise, toucans flying by. You can trully enjoy its nature at the fullest staying in this house.
Owner response:We appreciate your business and are glad you have had a chance to get to know the Osa Peninsula. It truly is a paradise on earth. Sheri Robbins

Dear Sheri, Your home is absolutely wonderful, It is so much bigger, nicer & better than the two previous ones we stayed in!. The upstairs veranda is spectacular with its ocean views and breeze. Everyday we would sit and listen for the monkeys who always ended up in the big tree to the right. Oh the Toucans my favorite bird! I have a photo of six of them all sitting in your tree... Cocktails in your pool at sunset were great. I even had the pleasure of swimming with a sloth who was sleeping on your pool steps. Anyone wanting to experience the jungle and unspoiled beauty of Costa Rica I highly recommend this property. We will be back again next year.
Owner response:Thank you so much! We are so happy your vacation was a memorable. We look forward to having you again as a guest. Pura Vida, Sheri Robbins

We really enjoyed our stay in your house. The location, the sounds of the jungle, the early morning tea while watching the toucans fly from tree to tree and the sunset in front of the pool, all were just delighful moments that we'll long remember. We didn't see the howling monkeys, but we did hear them no doubt! This was a very special experience for us as we never had holidays like this.We don't have a car in Paris and driving a 4WD up the hill was a challenge, but we especially loved driving through the river bed on our way down.We were only three in a huge house and we wish we were more since the house is so confortable!Que les francophones n'hésitent pas! C'est un endroit merveilleux, perdu dans la jungle et pourtant si confortable qu'on se prend à paresser la journée entière entre la piscine et le jardin...
Owner response:We enjoyed having you as a guest and glad you experienced a taste of the jungle. Please come visit us again! Sheri Robbins

This is an absolutely beautiful and comfortable home with a phenomenal view of the beach. Secluded and surrounded by lush foliage, you feel embraced by the jungle . . . beautiful birds of all kinds, the occasional monkey sighting . . . all while lounging in the pool. I highly recommend this house and the experience of Uvita, a beautiful and very welcoming beach community.
Owner response:Thank you! We look forward to having you as a guest again. Pura Vida, Sheri Robbins

I am a very seasoned traveler and would rate this villa in my top three! The accommodations were superb and did not lack for any creature comforts!! The early morning and evening sights and sounds around the property were more than I ever anticipated. The black sand beach was private and one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been on. There were plenty of local restaurants (two of them with five-star chefs) and any tourist attractions safely within driving distance. For the more adventurous types you can drive to San Isidro where the views were spectacular or take a trip to Panama and visit local beaches along the way. I would highly recommend this to anyone wishing to see Costa Rica and will definately be back again myself! One of the most affordable vacations I have taken to date.
Owner response:Hello Margaret, I did not get the pleasure of meeting you, but I heard you are a pleasure to have as a guest. We are glad you got the chance to experience the reason we own a home here. It is true paradise in the rainforest, very enchanting. We hope you come again. Pura Vida, Sheri Robbins

This is one of the great places to stay anywhere: gorgeous surroundings where you can wake up to see howler monkeys, toucans and stunningly beautiful blue morpheous butterflies literally at your doorstep; privacy that lets you - and I confess - enjoy a risque skinny dip in the pool; incredible ocean views; and proximity to excellent restaurants and leisure activities. Frank and Sherry's house is a paradise for both couch potatoes like me, and those active naturalists or adventure seekers who can't sit still. I make it a point to stay there whenever I'm in the area, and can count on the house being immaculately kept and inviting. Thanks, guys!

Dear Sheri, Your gorgeous villa is away from high tourist areas and set in an unspoiled part of Costa Rica. It is spacious, well appointed and has everything we could have needed for our stay. In fact, the photos do not render justice to your property. For us, it outshined by far the other Costa Rican villas we have rented before. We want to thank you for sharing such a great place. We were impressed by many other things. The ocean, jungle and mountain views from the pool deck or from the master bedroom deck are unbelievable. We kept our wildlife guide and binoculars out constantly and enjoyed bird watching, as well as viewing howler monkeys play nearby. We were amazed how much wildlife there is around the villa. The early morning walks for watching birds and the jungle coming alive followed by a dip in your very private and topnotch pool were one other big part of it. Overall, your property makes a great spot just for swimming, sunbathing and gazing. It's simply Pura Vida. The local French bakery in Ojochal made the best bread we ever had in Costa Rica. The local wine and cheese shop has unexpected gourmet food items and very good wine choices. It did contribute pretty well - along with the firefly shows - to our magnificent evenings. The mangrove boat tour on Terraba River delta with Jorge was undoubtedly worth seeing. Add to these beauties the kindness of everyone we met. Ann and Ted thoughtfulness and friendliness (and the useful information and knowledge of the area) help create one of our most memorable vacations in Costa Rica. Please thank Ann, Johan and Kumari for all they did. Let it suffice to say that we would definitively stay at your villa again and strongly advise anyone that is thinking of coming to this beautiful part of Costa Rica to seriously consider your villa as their base. Thank you again, Yves, Canada P.S. We have traveled all over the word and we have been to Costa Rica several times.
