CASA DOS VISTAS - This lovely casa has spectacular views of the Bay of Jaltemba to the West and the jungle-covered mountains to the East. Bird-watching from the garden and decks in jungle trees next to gardens.

The house is at the end of the road and next to two other lovely homes in one of the best neighborhoods in La Penita. The house has a full deck on the ocean side where you can find many nice spots to enjoy the sunrise, sunset or any other time of the day you feel like taking it in. The view of the sunrise is lovely from the deck on the mountain side of the house.

The house is built in traditional style with tile floors and baths. The wood trim and some of the tables are all handmade of local hardwood. The living room is furnished with traditional Equipal furniture. The house has two floors. The lower floor is occupied by our hosts and property manager, one of our sons and his fiance and their friendly labradooole. They are happy to help you in any way and can be hired to give customized tours. The upper level, which is for rent, has two bedrooms with one queen and one double bed, a bath and full kitchen and living room.

Small swimming pool in front. Secure parking for one vehicle. There are two charcoal barbecues, one in the front garden and one in the back.

The house is located just five blocks from the central shopping area of La Penita, which is an authentic Mexican town next to the resort town of Rincon de Guyabitos, about 50 miles north of Puerto Vallarta. You can find almost anything you need here from groceries, bark cloth paintings and exquisite silver jewelry in the stores, to pots and pans and plastica in the weekly Thursday market.

For entertainment in the area try: golf at El Monteon for a mere
$25 per day; swimming from the safest for toddlers to surfing-depending on what part of the bay you are on; a guided horseback ride which is available in area; guided trips to local villages and larger towns nearby; guided birdwatching trips in the area. Many local restaurants serve freshly caught seafood of the area. There are two new restuarants with upscale menues and ambiance. One is Italian and the other has an eclectic menu and art gallery attached.

Since there are year around live in hosts this place is available when many other vacation rentals are not. If you are coming during the typical "off season" for any reason besides a vacation this is a great place to stay.
