We very much enjoyed our stay at Jean's condo. The view from the lanai is wonderful, and the condo was clean and comfortable. Everything you might need for your stay is there. The iPod/iPhone/cd/radio combo was great. The bed is very comfy. Nice to have the washer and dryer -- makes for less to pack. Jean met us there and was very helpful -- especially in helping us find a parking spot. Mahalo for that, Jean. It was great being so close to the beach. Things got a little busy, though, with the APEC event happening when we were there, but we worked through it. We enjoyed the security of the building, too. Lots of good shopping and restaurants close by. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone visiting Waikiki. Mahalo, Jean, for everything. Norm & Donalda Stanick

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Waikiki Shore. The studio was great for the two of us. Jean was a pleasure to work with and even met us upon our arrival. Everything was as described and pictured. The location overlooking Fort DeRussy cannot be beat. It provides a measure of peace and quiet not found anywhere else in Waikiki as well as a view that few hotels can match. Being on a high floor allowed us to leave the lanai doors open the entire trip. We didn't even need the A/C though it was there if we did. Out the front of the building is everything you will need for dining, shopping and entertainment as well as banks and the post office is right in the park. Out the back you are directly on the beach and the pathway that runs all along Waikiki. We couldn't ask for more. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone wishing to go to Waikiki. Many thanks again Jean, Aaron and Denise Maple Shade, N.J.

My husband and I spent a week at the Waikiki Shore in February and we loved it. The condo appears smallish at first but we quickly settled in and found it to be perfectly sized with everything you could want for a relaxing stay - and it is right on the beach. The view from the balcony is over the park next door and the west end of Waikiki Beach and is really beautiful. So many Waikiki hotels views are jammed up to the the hotel next door but not this one. We had a great view of the fireworks on Friday night and a Train concert in the park also. It is a short stroll to Waikiki shops and restaurants either along the beach or on the streets. Waikiki is a bustling place (and that is part of the attraction) but it can be noisy at night. We slept with the louvres open to catch the breezes rather than using the airconditioner and you do get used to it. One negative would be that the shower pressure is not great but with so many positives that was a small thing. Thank you Jean for a wonderful stay - we look forward to coming back and would not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone.
Owner response:Thank you So much Carolina & Howard! I enjoyed meeting you both and look forward to seeing you next time. Your spot will be waiting for you. I'm so glad you all had a great experience here. Hanahou! Jean

Jean, I wanted to write you to thank you again for letting us stay at your place. Having a home base on Waikiki made it fun... walking distance to shopping and restaurants, yet so very nice to be able to come back from our touristing-around to a spot where we could see and hear the ocean and still have cherished privacy. Thanks, too, for keeping your little condo in such good condition—nice fixtures and such. We especially appreciated having the washer-dryer set so handy. We were able to tumble the suitcase wrinkles out of our outfits before hitting the town, and when we ventured off to our next stop--Kauai--we were able to pack only clean clothes. Of all the surprises about Hawaii, I think one of the main details overlooked in the tourist books are the island breezes. Strange to me how often I find my mind wandering back and fixating on that. To me, they seemed a greeting in and of themselves--a welcoming embrace. And it all began at your place. Thanks again. And I should say again that it was indeed a pleasure to meet you personally. Mahalo, Rock Luster

Karen and I have have come to Waikiki a dozen times in the past 10 years. We found Jean's unit two years ago and have stayed twice. We've stopped looking at other buildings and units because this one is perfect for us. We plan to stay here every time we return. This unit has one of the best views and locations in Waikiki. Being right next to Fort Derussey is a huge plus and the unit is high enough to have tremendous views out both the front and the rear. Our favorite place to eat is the Shorebird which is right next door. The new Beachwalk is right around the corner and if you need to have a car, the very best parking deal in Waikiki is in Fort Derussey. There really is no better location in Waikiki!

We have stayed twice at the Waikiki Shores and have enjoyed both stays. The condo is somewhat small, but perfect for two. We spent most of our time outside enjoying Hawaii. Everything is close and the beach is just steps away. We enjoyed having pupu's and dinner on the lanai each evening watching the beautiful Hawaiian sunsets as eating out can be expensive in Hawaii. Thank you Jean

Aloha, Richard & Kathy. Thanks so much for staying in # 1314. We do have smaller properties here on the island- welcome to Hawaii where land is scarce, but we'll take quality over quantity! Average hotel rooms are 224 sq. feet and the place at the Waikiki shore is 400 sq. feet. I think it feels bigger to me, becasue I always leave the lanai wide open. And, the bathroom and entry hallway are very spacious by island standards. This building used to be a YWCA. The rooms were dorms and we have these extra high ceilings like they don't do anymore. I used to allow 3 guests, but you're right- perfect for 2 people. 4 people can confortably enjoy the lanai for sunset/fireworks/nightlights. While the ocean goes dark, you can still hear the surf, and all the city and mauka lights go on. Aloha, Richard & Kathy- come back soon- Hana hou! Jean Riley

I can say that the pictures Jean took do not do the proper justice to this condo. It is absolutely spectacular from the sunsets, the views of Waikiki Beach, the security, the cleanliness, the location. It has EVERYTHING you could ask for and more. If you are considering whether or not to saty here, consider no further. The value is exceptional and Jean is a peach, always there if you need her. Thanks so much Jean for the condo and the memories ! And did I mention the sunsets?????

Great location, excellent Waikiki beachfront condo! I was pleasantly surprised, close to everything, and it was very comfortable. A great bargain versus a hotel room! Only complaint was there is construction across the street and it wasn't easy getting in and out. The wand on the blinds didn't work but the owner was having it fixed so it shouldnt be an issue again. I would reccomend this condo!

Having travelled to various destinations we have zeroed in on Waikiki Shores for the following reasons. Unsurpassed location, location, location on the beach with fabulous views. The safety aspect of city very important ,clean water with excellant entertainment ,restaurants, shopping all within easy walking distance. We have also had the good fortune to have met a great landlord who we have complete faith. In summation ,fantastic.

My husband and I stayed at Jean's Waikiki condominium in October 2007 for our 25th wedding anniversary trip. Not only was the view spectacular, but the breeze from her apartment was so refreshing because it was on the 13th floor and we slept so well. Fort DeRussy is next store and there is a very worthwhile military museum there. You can walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Moana Surfrider has the most delicious Mai Tai's. Because the condo is right on the beach you can walk on the beach all the way to Waikiki Beach. If you reserve Jean's condo you will not only enjoy meeting Jean, but you'll enjoy your stay also. My wife and I spent 6 days at the beggining of this month (Oct 2007) and can say that it is a beautiful unit, on the small side but ample for 2 persons which is what it is designed for. It is very clean and quiet, although their are renovations going on at the Outrigger next door, we found the unit to be very quiet. We loved the fact that it is fully furnished and equipped sans telephone. The location is fantastic! with beautiful ocean views and the beach less than 200 feet away, the bus stops within a couple of minutes from the unit.It is centrally located with restaurants and shops very close by. Mark down in the lobby (who doesn't represent the owner) told us that Ms Riley is very honest, which made us happy as we are too and we certainly found her to be honest and the lovely unit as stated. We would definately stay here again in the future and would highly recommend this condo and Ms Riley. We received very good value for our money.

What more can you ask for -- a lania with an ocean view, a short walk to the beach, convenient to all activities, parking across the street, friendly and good service. My husband, daughter and I had the most incredible vacation while staying at this condo. We can't wait to come back in 2009.

We stayed in Jean's studio from 2/24/07-3/3 for a wedding/family reunion and we were very pleased. The location was perfect and the view was excellent. Her studio was clean and tastefully decorated. Perfect for two. Jean was happy to help when we had questions and she met us in the lobby as soon as we arrived. We look forward to renting from her again in the future.

Aloha Jean, We loved the views from this oceanfront condo, the lanai was the perfect place to watch the sunset every night. Your condo is very well appointed and clean, we will recommend it to friends and family. Next time we go back to Oahu, we would love to stay at your place again, it is close to everything!
