Guests rave about this beautiful Marais apartment, completely renovated in mid-2006 and maintained to the highest standards (see the on-line guestbook). Perfectly located in the 3rd arrondisement just three blocks from both the Place des Vosges and the Picasso Museum, Apartment Tournelles1 is in a lovely and well maintained XIX century building. Everything in this apartment has been updated, from the plumbing and electrical to the tasteful furnishings and decor.
Unusual to Paris, Apartment Tournelles1 features two equally well-appointed bedrooms, each with comfortable queen-sized beds and en suite modern bathrooms! The well-thought out layout of Apartment Tournelles1 maximizes the living spaces and, for privacy, creates excellent separation between the bedrooms (see the layout photo below).
In addition to the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, Apartment Tournelles1 features a separate tiled kitchen with all new appliances, and a light and airy living/dining room. While the many neighborhood restaurants and wine bars will beckon, the well-furnished kitchen also invites you to bring food home from the nearby open-air markets and wonderful foodstores.
Unwind on the comfortable leather couch in the living/dining room after a day of exploring the Marais and surrounding neighborhoods. High ceilings, tall windows, original moldings and wood floors, a black crystal chandelier, stylish furnishings, lovely art and a quiet street below--this wonderful vacation retreat has all the ambience of old Paris combined with the best modern comforts and conveniences.
The apartment is on the first floor French (second floor American), easily accessible by a wide and gently curved staircase. It of course comes with every amenity---flat screen TV with cable, DVD, phone with free calling to 28 countries, washer/dryer, free WIFI, heated towel racks, etc. We've also equipped it with a laptop computer so you don't have to lug yours along, and a cell phone for your use while staying at the apartment.
In addition, the apartment comes with its own off-site manager, fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. In addition to making sure Apartment Tournelles2 is spotless and ready for your arrival with fresh flowers, coffee, a bottle of wine, water, milk and other staples, our Parisian manager can assist you with any questions about the apartment.
Tournelles1, and its adjacent sister apartment, Tournelles2, is in the midst of the Marais, one of Paris's most historic, most beautiful, and most desirable neighborhoods. From French history to French chic, the Marais has it all. To help you get acquainted, Apartment Tournelles1 is equipped with numerous guidebooks and maps, as well as information on our favorite places to shop, eat, and sight see in the neighborhood. Also, we provide a complete binder, with directions on how to use all of the appliances, lots of neighborhood resources, and general Paris information.
While it is easy to spend all your time in the Marais, many other Paris attractions, including the Louvre, the Seine, Notre Dame, and the Left Bank are in easy walking distance of Apartment Tournelles1. And, when you're ready to get off your feet, several Metro stops are conveniently nearby (Chemin Vert is less than a block away, and Bastille is less than a five minute walk).
The all-inclusive weekly rental fee covers high quality linens and towels, and one cleaning. While weekly rentals are preferred, don't hesitate to ask us about rates for shorter or longer stays. No smoking or pets are allowed.
Tournelles2 is an equally beautiful adjacent 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment that can be rented separately or in conjunction with Tournelles1. Its vrbo reference number is 114205.
Important note: We DO NOT list either of our two apartments on CraigsList...any posting you see there using our pictures, apartment names and/or some or all of our descriptions is without our permission.

Stylish & Highly Rated 2BR/2BA Near Place Des Vosges
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 3
We love the Marais...it is central to everything, yet retains a neighborhood feel. We love walking out the door and being steps away from fabulous bakeries, restaurants, museums, and great shopping. Paris is a great walking city, and our apartment provides easy access to so much of it. We also love the location because the Paris Metro (subway system) is so close and so easy to use. We also love the Marais because of its history and diversity...from the elegant Place des Vosges to rue des Rosiers' Jewish delis to rue des Archives' gay friendly bars and stores---everyone can feel at home in the Marais.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Some of our favorite things to do revolve around cooking and eating! We love being just across the street from the twice-weekly Bastille farmers market, and within easy walking distance to two other historic markets on rue des Bretagnes and at Place d'Aligre. And we can never stay at our place and not stop for a meal at Chez Janou, a block away, making sure we save room for their incredible bowl of chocolate mousse! We also love that a short walk takes us to and across the Seine, to Notre Dame and the Left Bank, and never get tired of window shopping along rue des Francs Bourgeois' chic boutiques,or walking under Place des Vosges' magnificent arches.
Our other favorite past time is exploring Paris' various neighborhoods or arrondisements. The fact that we're so close to the 2nd, 4th, 10th, 11th, and 12th facilitates our "expeditions." As in our home city, San Francisco, it is the neighborhoods away from the tourist areas that give one a great perspective on the city and its people---and, just like San Francisco, the best food at the best prices are found in the neighborhoods!
On Thursday and Saturday mornings, he Bastille Market stretches for several blocks along Richard Lenoir, Organic produce, farm-fresh chickens and eggs, cheese, flowers...and wonderful prepared foods a
a favorite neighborhood place with wonderful Provencal food and, according to experts in our family, the best chocolate mousse in the city.
a new and lovely wine store with a great selection at all price points.
the place for wonderful croissants, baguettes, miniature quiches, and all sorts of other sweet and savory goodies.
In the heart of the old Jewish quarter, L'As du Falafel serves up some of the best falafels and shwarma you'll ever have.
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 3
Two San Francisco families own this beautiful apartment and its adjacent "sister". One family has two small children. We traveled to Paris in the winter of 2006 to research buying property, and came home 10 days later as Paris apartment owners. Our dream is to live in Paris, and having these apartments gets us one step closer to that. We renovated, decorated, and equipped these apartments based on our prior experiences with vacation rentals in the US and Europe, and hope that you will enjoy all of the amenities and small touches that we have provided. We travel to Paris as often as we can to make sure the apartments stay in top condition. Our goal is to have you love Paris as much as we do!

This lovely two bedroom has all that you need: a very easy one flight up from street level, quiet street, 3 blocks from Place de Vosges, 3 blocks from Place de la Bastille, cafe and boulangerie one block, well stocked kitchen, two baths en suite. Clear and easy rental arrangements. Pleasant touches upon your arrival. This is the best kept secret in all of Paris and now I have outed it!

This apartment was even more gorgeous and spacious than we imagined. Owners Cheryl and Pam have excellent taste and thought of absolutely everything to make us feel at home. We were greeted by their gracious Paris hostess, Adele, who had just placed fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, and a few other treats in the apartment. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room-dining area are clean and beautifully decorated. The bookshelves were stocked with owner recommendations and guidebooks. One in particular, WALKS, was a particular delight and every day we explored a different neighborhood. We visited the nearby bakeries, local cafes, and open-air markets, cooking some of our meals in. We also made a few neighborhood discoveries of our own - the highly-entertaining Cirque d'hiver that opened on the weekend we arrived, and we explored the charming nearby street, Rue Amelot. Two recommendations: the Piano Bar Bistrot, where we had a good meal while being royally entertained by fabulous musicians and LaCuizine, 73 Rue Amelot where we ate twice because we loved the food and ambiance. The first night we visited LaCuizine, my husband accidentally left his credit card. They were closed the next two days, but left a nice note for him in the restaurant window. We retrieved his credit card, but also went back another night because they were so nice and the food was so delicious. We would definitely rent this apartment again. Thank you!

The apartment was perfect for our family of 4. The location was ideal; we walked everywhere, and when it rained there was a Metro stop less than 2 blocks away. Everything about the apartment itself was charming and in excellent working order. We also very much appreciated the wealth of information that our hosts left for us, including two bookcase shelves of guide books. We couldn't have had a better stay, and can't wait to go back! We still talk about the chocolate mousse at Chez Janou...

A friend of mine and I rented Pam and Cheryl's apartment for a week this past July. It was truly a wonderful experience. The apartment is tastefully decorated, clean, and has everything one could need. It is nicely located, as well. It is easy to jump on the metro there and not a far walk from the busy section of the La Marais. A bonus in the experience is that we had a chance to get to know the owners. They were gracious and accommodating, not to mention extremely helpful in assisting us with ideas of places to eat. I thank them both for renting us their unit and for their hospitality.

I would highly recommend staying at this lovely apartment. Everything was just as described and the pictures are exactly how the place is. The apartment is so comfortable and wonderfully cared for. The location is very convenient and has many places to eat close by. We stayed here as a family of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pam and Cheryl were very accomodating and helpful as well as Amele, the property manager. We LOVED this apartment and would definitely stay there again. Having the laptop and wi-fi at the apartment was an added bonus and much appreciated. It really was home away from home. We miss it already!

We had a great vacation largely en-part to the rental of this apartment. It was as described, well appointed, very clean and well cared for. The manager had added some nice welcoming touches after a long trip. We discovered the local farmers market only blocks away on our first full day, and stocked up for the week! It was so nice to be able to bring food back and have all the comforts of home. The area was perfect for us! Walking distance to so many attractions. The Metro was very close and easily accessible. The incredible restaurants in the area are a must visit, Le Petit Marche was only a block away. The food was awesome, as was the friendly staff. So much so we returned for another great experience later in the week. Another must, a nice walk through the neighborhood a few blocks away was Robert et Louise 64 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75003 Paris 3e. If you'd like a very traditional Parisian experience this was the place to be. With different grilled meats over an open flame while you watch, adds to the charm of the place. We cant wait to go back and rent the place again. The only downside to the whole trip was, it was only a week! :) We could have stayed another without question. Thank you P/C for the ease and simplicity of the rental process and a great apartment. We really enjoyed our time there and cant wait to return.

We stayed at this lovely apartment the last part of October 2010 with another couple. It was absolutely perfect!! The neighborhood is charming and very safe. We walked around and took the metro everywhere and sometimes did not arrive back to the apartment until close to Midnight. The beds are super comfortable, and the water pressure is outstanding! Apartment is well equipped with everything two couples or a small family would need. We are already planning on going back to Paris and will definately stay here again. Thanks Pam & Cheryl for sharing your lovely second home with us!

We found the apartment spacious, the kitchen was small, but had everything we needed and then some, and the location was really easy to walk to many sites in Paris from. It was also easy to catch the metro and go to the places we couldn't walk to. We ate at many of the local restaurants and had excellent food at all of them. It was a bit noisy at times, it seemed like they were picking up trash at all hours! The convenience of the location and the pleasant clean apartment made up for that. I would definitely stay here again.
