Beautiful home, trustworthy owners

The house was everything you would hope for. Cozy, clean, comfortable. The other two cabins aren't too close and the piers are easily accessible. We enjoyed visiting Bonds Falls, Crystal Lake and you should be sure to visit Bent's Camp just down highway B from the cabin. We enjoyed great fishing while we stayed in late June...nice perch and crappies were plentiful (along with some bullheads and small northern). We saw many loons, eagles and families of geese as well as turtles. There is also a beautiful beach just down the road at Black Oak Lake--a beautifully clear lake! The one drawback was we had a group of 10 and there was only sleeping space for 8. So just be aware of this if you have a larger group...I wouldn't recommend the Eagles Nest...although I'm sure the other two cabins would have been fine for us. The couch and loveseat could hold small children, however.

Unforgettable

My family recently stayed at the Bear's Den lodge which is situated in the middle of the Moose lodge and the Eagle's Nest lodge. The lodge itself was amazing, new, clean, and comfortable. Plenty of room and great views. The owners were very helpful answering all of our questions and even called in once during the week to make sure things were going well for us. We were a bit concerned that it might be a resort atmosphere with little privacy and relaxation. However, it was quite the opposite, from fishing off the piers or by boat, hiking and biking on nearby trails or simply sitting by the campfire watching the eagles and loons. The swimming was endless as well. I can't say enough good things about the experience we had. The pontoon rental worked out great, the fishing was good (had a perch meal one night), and the location is excellent. We took a day trip to Ontanogon, MI and swam in Lake Superior and also stopped at Bond's Falls on the way (a must see). A different day we went to Northern HIghland State Park just outside of Sayner and swam, biked and kayaked in and around Crystal Lake and FireFly Lake (another must see and do). My wife and I even went to the casino one evening in Watersmeet, MI only 10 miles away. Also, took the family minigolfing and go-carting in Eagle River. What a great vacation - Can't wait to get back.
