Beautiful, completely renovated and enlarged house on Mission Road, Tilghman Island, Maryland, the Pearl of the Chesapeake!
Tilghman Island is on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay. It is still a working waterman's village and home to the last commercial sailing fleet in North America, the skipjacks.
Experience Tilghman Island while staying in this perfect getaway vacation rental home, a completely renovated and enlarged house, which is like a brand new one. You can relax in the sunroom, where you can read or watch one of the movies provided, fix a meal in the large eat-in kitchen, sun bathe or eat steamed crabs on the deck, read a book in the comfortable living room, take a nap or write a letter in the large den, which can be a fourth bedroom if needed, by using the king-sized daybed.
The three bedrooms upstairs are beautiful, comfortable and homey, and each has a ceiling fan. One bedroom has a queen bed, one has a double bed and one has bunk beds. Two full baths complete the home, with one upstairs and one downstairs. There is even a new outside shed, which holds two bikes and helmets, for a ride around the Island and beyond, as well as a croquet set and other outdoor toys for use in the huge backyard.
There are so many fun and relaxing things to do in the area. Several excellent seafood restaurants are just a walk away from the house. You can take a sail on a historic skipjack or on a charming sailboat at nearby harbors. You can rent kayaks or canoes at nearby marinas to use on the water trails or rivers. Fishing and hunting trips are available (brochures are in the house). The local school has tennis courts and there are golf courses nearby.
You will enjoy day trips, just a short distance away, to historic Oxford via the car ferry or highway, or to St. Michael’s with it's charming shops, galleries, spas and restaurants, or to Easton, where you will find numerous shops, restaurants, antiques, galleries, a golf course, movie theaters and a Farmer’s Market in season. The best part will be coming back to your home away from home, propping your feet up and relaxing! |
