This is a fabulous house. We were a large party of 10+ in Woodstock for the weekend attending a wedding at the Woodstock Inn so the location was just perfect. The living room/kitchen area is large and spacious and the fireplace made everything very cozy. It has a very nice dining room with a beautifully tiled gas fireplace. The deck was very nice and the weather was warm enough that we could enjoy it. The house is situated in a very pretty setting. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean, lots of hot water and great water pressure. All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. It could not have been a more perfect weekend. We were the envy of other family members who stayed elsewhere! Many thanks for sharing this home with us!
Owner response:Thank you very much for your kind thoughts. I am very glad you had a good time.

We spend the 2nd weekend in September at this house - it is a great location has a great yard right on the river and is very spacious! We had 5 couples at the house and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house was large enough that when we were hanging out in the kitchen and living area the people that were asleep upstairs couldnt hear us. The house was pretty clean - just the usual dust bunnies you get from the house not being lived in year round. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious!

I agree with Wen's (Arizona) review. The house's location and the surrounding countryside are great. The house is large with a wonderful great room, kitchen, and dining rooms. But the house has been sorely neglected. It needs a good cleaning and many pieces of furniture need to be replaced. Dust, dirt, and cobwebs are everywhere. Fabric is torn and dirty on a number of sofas and chairs. Most of the furniture seems to have been collected from rummage sales or other people’s castaways. The kitchen is awful. The oven and stove have never been cleaned. Leftover food in the refrigerator, which also needs a good cleaning inside and out. Dirt and food in the kitchen drawers and cabinets. Trash and dirt in the closets. And so on.

There were a lot of nice features in this house--it was large, good space downstairs, there were several bedrooms, and the outdoor space was good. But this house is not in great condition. We found the grill deteriorated and had to buy a new one; the owner agreed to pay. Bed slats were broken; we had to fix. Some couches were torn. The pond was in no way swimmable, tho the kids had a great time finding frogs. The washer dryer were ancient with the dryer completely dysfunctional. The area under the sink was filthy as was the interior of the stove. The vacuums and brooms were so old they were virtually unusable. Our family did a great job of ignoring/compensating for this, and I informed the owner of the deficits. The location was great and the space was great and the "caretaker" was helpful and nice to deal with.

We went up to Vermont for a weekend in January, and had the best time in this wonderful, cozy, spacious house. We loved every moment of it. Thank you for sharing your property with us. We look forward to going again. :)
