After finding The Blue Heron on VRBO site some years ago, we think we have found the perfect place for our stays in Florida while visiting family and friends. Others just don't measure up to what the Blue Heron has to offer our family. Many great restaurants and the outlet mall are within walking distance or a very short drive, and Disney is right within sight. Shuttle service is offered to the other parks in the area such as Universal and Sea World. The complex is spotless, staff is always overly attentive to any needs or questions we have and always friendly when we meet them on the grounds with a hello or smile.The nicely furnished condo is most pleasant and we feel like home with the full kitchen and washer and dryer in the room. The views from the balcony are beautiful with the morning sunrise overlooking the lake, walking path and pool. In the evenings, we can step out of the room and see the Disney fireworks. We have never been disappointed with our many stays at the Blue Heron and would highly recommend it.

Spacious property, beautiful lake view!

This was my and my girlfriend's first trip to Disney World and I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. The condo was beautiful, spacious, and had a spectacular balcony view of Lake Bryan. We were about a five minute drive from the parks, but didn't have to pay expensive resort fees. The convenience of a Walgreens across the street allowed us to get groceries at the beginning of the week (and save money on meals!). The pool was never crowded and was a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I would definitely recommend the Blue Heron to anyone travelling to Orlando.

WONDERFUL VACATION AT THE BLUE HERON BEACH RESORT!!

Had a great 2-months' stay at BHBR (1bed/2bath 14th floor) Feb/Mar 2013. The unit was spacious, clean and well-equipped -- and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the large 8'x15' balcony - the beautiful sunrises on Lake Bryan - the heated pool. Starbucks is on the property - Cici's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts are next door. You can't beat the location - close to shopping, restaurants, Hwy 4 ramps and Downtown Disney. The owner keeps the booking process really simple - pleasure to deal with. We give it a 10 out of 10. Great value - will definitely be back!!

We retired one year ago and stayed in this condo in March, Oct., and Dec. in 2012. We also are booked at the Blue Heron in March 2013. We have an annual Disney pass and love how close the condo is to the parks and other Orlando attractions, eateries, and shopping. Very clean and great views and the pool is lovely.

I have been going to Disney for 15 years and I wish I had known about this place a long time ago. I have stayed on Disney properties many times and have overpaid for a small room. The Blue Heron is absolutely beautiful!. The suites are big and beautiful .the resort is gorgeous and the location is great. We drove tot downtown Disney in 5 minutes..While we were relaxing at the Blue Herons huge pool we decided to take a jet ski ride right from there dock on the lake the resort is on. I HIGHLY recommndend The Blue Heron .

We have just returned from our November 2011 Disney vacation, and I am SO glad I booked this condo. We were practically seconds from Disney, surrounded by restaurants and attractions - and a Starbucks, which we used every morning! The condo itself was spotless, the bed comfortable, and everything we needed was already there! We had a fabulous time, and Jared was a dream to work with, answered all my questions quickly and set everything up for us! My ONE tip for people coming to the Blue Heron - Jared mentions as a response to one of the reviews that the tiimeshare presentation is not mandatory. We fell for it - just say NO to the presentation and you will have a PERFECT week!

A VACATION FROM OUR VACATION. THIS PLACE ROCKS!!

I can’t say enough of this amazing resort! First off the resort itself is beautiful! We were amazed how spacious, clean and well decorated the condo was. It had everything you need! The view of the lake from the balcony was amazing. We all rented the Jet Skis form the resort. That was a blast! It was great to come back to the resort after a long day at Disney and just relax and enjoy the Blue Heron . It was like a vacation from our vacation. And the location was just perfect. The entrance to Disney was 5 minutes and Universal was about 15 minutes, also tons of great restaurants within a mile from the resort. And as a bonus, working with the owner (Jared) couldn’t have been easier. He really made the booking experience easy and safe and took the time to make sure got what we needed. We will definitely be back!!

My experience in June 2011 at the Blue Heron was a very good one. The place was great for the price paid. It was not in "brand new" condition, but it was a great deal for the money, and very clean. The location is excellent. Close to everything. The pool was cold...it does not get afternoon sun, so an evening swim can be chilly! The view over the lake is lovely in the morning. Be sure to pack a blow dryer, the unit did not have one so I had to go pick one up. Also, I was told that I would have a high floor unit (12th or higher), but when I arrived they gave me a unit on the 3rd floor. I told them that I was supposed to have a higher floor, but the clerk would not hear of it. She basically told me I was already getting a special rate, so I should be happy. Well, I was too tired to pursue it further. And it is nice to have a shorter elevator ride. So, no real harm done. Maybe shouldn't guarantee the higher floor if it is going to be a problem.

Owner response: I am so glad that this guest had a great experience at the Blue Heron. It is truly an EXCEPTIONAL value as you could see by the many positive reviews. I had told this guest that my unit ( on the 14th floor) was sold out and I would REQUEST a higher floor for them and if one was available they would be glad to accomadate them if not they would put them in the highest available floor at that time. The resort was very busy that week and the 3rd floor was the best available ( The unit was Identical to mine ) .

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. We didn't have the greatest initial opinion of the resort after being harassed by a particularly pushy sales person while trying to get the parking pass. But we ended up being happy with the amount of space and the location - super close to the parks. The view was nice, too. We would have appreciated a more comfortable master bed and cleaner floors, but the other amenities made up for it.

Owner response: I would like to respond to some of the comments that this guest had. The Blue Heron are indiduallly owned condos. The resort apparently has units for sale and I quess they are asking quests if they would interested in looking at one for purchase in return for some compensation. If a guest is not interested simply tell them you’re not interested and the issue is dropped and you are not asked again. The owners, including me, have no control over the resort asking .(Incidentally, I was told the 'pushy saleperson' was recently fired.) As far as the master bed issue. This guest did not stay in my unit. The beds are are well maintained. However after learning about this experience, the management immediately changed the mattress.

Great and close to Disney property!

My family and stayed here for 4 nights -right before Christmas, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The descrption of the room and its location are accurate. Staff at the resort was courteous and helpful. Concierge was only open until 3PM, but the front desk staff was extremely helpful with directions and suggestions. It's about a mile from the Disney entrance -off of SR 535, so you don't have to get back on I-4 to go to Disney, however, take into account, the traffic on this road is crazy. We sat through a 'condo' sale presentation for the 100$ resort credit. Note, if you wait to buy tix at the resort, the staff will automatically sell you the park hopper option (if you don't know any better). So, I highly recommend buying tickets on-line or at the park since the lines were not busy- first thing in the morning. The linens were clean, & the kitchen / bath were clean: however, the floors did not look like they had been mopped in a while (dusty). In addtion, if you have a small child or are a light sleeper, be prepared for being able to hear loud noises through the walls and the windows - especially if you are near the elevator (like this unit), and especially, if your neighbors liked to party late (like ours did). I'm sure if I had reported to the front desk, they would have stopped it. The owner answered all my questions quickly and gave us a great rate! My family will definitely try to book with him on our next visit!

Great Place For Larger Families Visiting Disney

My family stayed at the Blue Heron Resort in Orlando during November 2010. It is conveniently located to the Disney Parks, restaurants, shopping and just a few minutes from the Universal Parks. It was so great to have a nice and roomy place to come back to after spending all day visiting the theme parks. The full kitchen was great for eating breakfast before heading out for the day. Way better than staying at an over priced hotel room on Disney property. Would not change a thing. Thanks Jared for your help.

Our family stayed at the Blue Heron Beach Resort from 10/2-10/9 2010 on a recent trip to Walt Disney World. My dad, who is a recent widower decided to go on the trip with us, so we selected the two bedroom suite. When I looked at the floorplans, I requested the Sunrise Suite option from the owner of this condo. He accommodated our request. Our overall experience with the condo was excellent, and we will definitely consider the Blue Heron again for future visits. The location was close to everything Disney related...very easy to hop in and out of the parks. I've stayed in the All Star Resorts before, and I'm convinced that this location is closer (not to mention a much better value) than the All Star hotels. You could see both Wishes and Illuminations from your balcony each night. Not only is it close to Disney, it is close to shopping, restaurants...everything. The lake views and sunrise every morning was also amazing. The size of the condo was also excellent. Our party of six had plenty of space, and the kids loved the bunk beds. Having a washer and dryer in the unit also was super convenient and is a big plus on a week's vacation. Lastly, working with the owner (Mr. Simon) was also a plus. He was always very responsive to my requests, even when we were given incorrect information at checkin, he responded to my email question quickly and provided his phone number in case there were any additional issues. I would highly recommend this owner, and the Blue Heron Beach Resort again. I plan on running the Walt Disney Marathon in 2012, and I will be sure to contact this owner again!

My family and I stayed at this resort for the week of July 4th, we were very pleased with our accomadations, they were so nice and well maintained that we extended our stay another night. The resort is everything that is advertised and more. With it being the 4th of July we enjoyed a spectacular view of the theme parks fireworks all around us, the balcony view was beautiful and the kids loved the pool/hot tub area. We liked that the resort was surrounded by other businesses that would meet a vacationers needs such as a small grocery store, starbucks coffee, cici's pizza and even a mini golf course. We also used the shuttle service offered for our theme park visits. Overall this resort met all expectations and we would recommend it to anyone who is in search of a clean accomadations for a reasonable price. Thanks for a great vacation.

My family and I went to stay at this awesome condo when we decided to visit Disney. What a fantastic place! It was so close to everything..... Disney, downtown Disney, restaurants, etc! We walked in and it was better than what the pictures showed. My girls LOVED the bunk beds and we loved the fact that we had our own bedroom and bathroom and didn't need to share like you do in a hotel. The pool was wonderful and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. We plan on staying here again next year when we come back to Disney!Thank you so much for renting your condo to us! We will recommend this place to everyone :)

Fantastic location. We couldn't have booked a better 'hub' for our activities. My fiancee was conventioning and it took only about 5 minutes to get her to the sites. Front desk was friendly as well.

My husband and I LOVED this condo. We were hotel people before this. I will never pay for a hotel when something like this is available. The staff is extremely accommodating. The facilities are beyond comfortable. The weather did not cooperate (record cold-we ran the marathon), but it was nice to return to a warm "home". No difficulty in maneuvering around to parks and entertainment, grocery stores, restaurants. Can not say enough good things about this facility!!!

We recently stayed in this unit at the Blue Heron Beach Resort between Dec 21-26 and would recommend it to anybody. Our kids (aged 12 & 8) were very comfortable in the bunk beds and having our own bedroom with TV, DVD & ensuite was great. Location for driving to & from the Disney parks is perfect to come back for a swim & some lunch during the day. You can even see the fireworks from the hallway balconies if you don't stay late in the parks. Having laundry in the suite means you don't need to over pack and can keep towels and clothing fresh. The pool area and hot tub are terrific, there's mini golf and grocery and a Starbucks right out front, practically on the property and there's a 24 hr Walgreen's and liquor store across the street. We had a great stay and would stay there again if we were to return. Things to know: no daily housekeeping like a hotel unless you request and pay extra for it, but not a big deal.

This condo was the perfect spot for my family, my twin daughters loved the bunk-beds and we loved having our own room. The view is spectacular. We spent 5 days at Disney Parks and this condo was within 5-10 minutes driving range. We would definately stay here again. It was great to have our own kitchen area as well.

Great stay we were very happy with everything. Attractions all very close by and the pool was awesome. Views of the lake very scenic and peaceful. The accomodations were great and the price was exceptionally reasonable. It is so pleasant to sit on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view of the Lake and pool. Having the jetted tub was very relaxing. The central location for eating, shopping at the outlets and Disney was so convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any request we had. This resort is highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here while on our honeymoon, back in late July 2009. We loved it! The location was perfect for both Disney and Universal. It's close to everything, but traffic isn't bad in the immediate vicinity. The view of the lake from the balcony is great. The staff in the front office are all friendly and helpful. We will definetly stay again as well as recommend it anyone wanting to make the most of their Orlando stay.

Our stay at the Blue Heron was simply perfect! This condo is immaculately clean, perfectly located, and surprisingly quiet. My family of 5 had a comfortable stay in the one bedroom unit~two boys slept in the bunks and one took the sleeper sofa. The washer/dryer unit in the condo allowed me to return home with clean clothes!!

What a joy to escape from Wisconsin's cold winter to this clean and beautiful condo a hop, skip and jump from Disney parks. With a serene lake view to look at from the rear balcony, it helped us to relax, away from all the crowds. Evening fireworks from Epcot were on view on the front balcony and a spectacular night-time scene of all things Disney as well. We felt very safe and secure as the elevator requires a 'door key' and all the people we met were friendly; the staff very helpful. It was only 5 minutes from Downtown Disney ~ so we often went over there for a night-time sundae at Ghiradelli's. It was just so close to everything we wanted to do ~ we loved it!

Wonderful, relaxing getaway from the hectic!

This condo is wonderfully furnished, was even more convenient to all the Orlando attractions than I'd even imagined, and yet was remote enough to provide a peaceful getaway from what can sometimes be a hectic vacation. The view of the lake is stunning, especially in the morning. The pool and other facilities were excellent. On nights that we weren't at the Disney parks, we could watch the fireworks from the front balcony. You get so much more for your money by staying outside the Disney resort. This condo is cheaper, yet offers so much more comfort and style. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, some even within walking distance. Jared, the owner, was always easy to communicate with, and the rate was exactly as he quoted to me. I definitely recommend this property to anyone seeking a trip to Orlando, but wants to have a place to "crash" in comfort and style at a ridiculously affordable rate! I do not every plant to stay on a Disney Resort property again! This is the best!

The location of this condo is excellent for sightseeing, vsiting the theme parks and outlet shopping. Golf, restaurants are all nearby. The condo itself is perfect with balcony overlooking the pool, hottub and lake. We would choose the larger unit next time as we found it a little tight with four people (perfect if the children were small). Underground parking and security was good. Very easy and quick checkin.

Save yourself the time and effort it takes to research a great vacation spot. Just pack up and stay at this beautiful condo resort. It is close to Disney and Sea World, and an hours drive to cocoa beach and kennedy space center. Resturants, drug store and yes even a starbucks right next door. It is nearly brand new, has a beautiful view of the lake from the balcony where you can enjoy the sunrise, and is keycard secure. The front desk staff are helpful,they rented a car for us, and printed our boarding passes as well. The pool, hottub and deck and walkways by the lake add the finishing touches. Thank you for a wonderful home away.

We are HUGE Disney fans and always say on Disney property, however after staying in this beautiful, spacious, very clean, great location, gorgeous view, friendly services, awesome transportation guys and most of all romantic as well as family oriented condo I will never stay on disney property again. This is our new Disney Destination. There is even miniature golf and starbucks right out front of the building. What is even better is that you can avoid the crowds and watch the fireworks from the balcony. I could not have asked for a better time that what I had here. We HIGHLY Recommend that you visit and promise you will feel the same. Drew & Lori Miller

BEUTIFUL CONDO, EXCELLENT LOCATION. ON-SITE SECURITY, SECURE PARKING AND A KEY CARD IS REQUIRED TO ACCESS THE ELEVATOR. THE CONDO WAS GREAT, VERY CLEAN WITH AN EXCELLENT VIEW. MY WIFE AND I ENJOYED OUR STAY. THANK YOU, WE WILL RETURN, YEAR AFTER YEAR.

Terrific location to Sea World and Disney. Lakeside view is wonderful. Just step outside the front door and you can see the Epcot Globe. So many restaurants, from fast food to moderate at this easy exit, I-4, exit 68. Delivery for pizza and Chinese. Master bed comfortable. Walmart right down the street and large food store just around corner. As with all rentals bring your own pillow. Top bunk has a guard rail so no worries if needed. Ample parking, unit was well taken care of. When visiting this area again I would go back.

We were pleasantly surprised at the breathtaking view from the condo balcony of the lake, pool and sunrise every morning. Fireworks display from Disney on the street side of the building every night. Prime location to everything!! This condo is a 5 star!!

Had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing time. Condo was comfortable, clean, close to all attractions, and perfect for our vacation. Staff and services great. Kids loved using pool & hot tub all day. View from balcony was beautiful. Met people from all over North America. Definately want to stay again. I would suggest it to anyone. Just what our family was looking for in a vacation. Sherry

The Henderson's are long time VRBO customers and this property is a really great location, very nice amenities and an unbeatable price...We found it was more comfortable and easier getting to and from the Disney Parks than staying in a Moderate or Value Disney Resort Property.

We were MORE than happy with our condo in Orlando. Not only was it centrally located, it was absolutely beautiful. The lake outside our room was breathtaking and watching its relection in the mornings made breakfast even more enjoyable. The condo was beautifully kept and a wonderful place to unwind after tackling the WDW parks all day. We would stay here again in a second and recommend it to anyone else going to Orlando!

The room EXCEEDED my expectations. Great view of pool area and lake. I must admit, I was a little apprehensive about the whole process - finding a place on line, etc, etc, but everything was hassle free and effortless. The people at the front desk were wonderful. The location was GREAT! Mere minutes from DisneyWorld, restaurants, and entertainment. Location is very easy to navigate. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Thanks again!!!! We will be back!

The condo was excellent - it was very clean, in great shape, and absolutely perfect for a small family. The kids swam every night in the pool, while we relaxed with some wine on the balcony. The staff were all courteous, polite, and responsive to our needs. The location was ideal - easy to get to all the resorts, great restaurants, and shopping. Overall, a fabulous trip!

My husband and I stayed at this exact unit on our honeymoon in 2008. We LOVED it. The unit was very luxurious. We were only a mile from Downtown Disney. There is also a super Walmart very close by for groceries, as well as tons of restaurants and an outlet mall. You cannot beat the location and the price. I was shocked to pay such a low price for a unit that was top of the line! We were very pleased with how the owner handled booking. Overall, we had a blast! My entire family (all 26 of us), will be coming to Disney in 2011 and we will be staying at the Blue Heron.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This condo was great for my boys' first visit to Orlando! The location, price, and amenities were fantastic. My family felt right at home. We would definitely stay in the future.

Stayed here over the New Year. Unit is GREAT for a family. We packed light and did laundry IN THE UNIT.EASY to book,Close to Universal and shopping.Had a great relaxing vacation with the family.Mini golf right there, Wave Runners and Restaurants within walking distance.Only problem was the weather. ALREADY booked same unit for spring break 2009
