From the moment you set foot in Gull Cottage you will relax (actually that starts when you get out of the car and smell the fresh sea air). Large white shabby-chic couches invite you to plop down, or go outside on the deck and sip on a glass of local wine.
Grab a bag and go pick up the treasures that the sea delivers daily. The beach is breathtaking...but the sunset makes you lean over and kiss your loved ones. The beach is a short walk away - 2 minute drive or 8 minute stroll.
Head down to the embarcadero (2 miles away) for some incredible seafood. We have got some great suggestions for you. Take a short drive to Cayucos or Cambria for a peek in the antique shops four stories high. Or take a tour of the Hearst Castle.
Come home and dream the night away. This is one sleep you will not forget. There is nothing to hear...imagine silence...

Why the Owner Chose Morro Bay
The Central Coast is a magical place. It's peaceful and the nature that abounds is gorgeous. We chose our home Gull Cottage - Morro Bay for a place to relax and get away from the hub-bub of Los Angeles. The location is a perfect distance to the beach and to Del Mar park (perfect for our kids and dogs). We have also become avid Kayakers. We spent the first year there providing a retreat to family and friends and eventually opened it to wonderful vacationers from all over the world.

We always know that relaxation is our first priority and boy do we get it. From long walks on the beach with our sons and dogs, to long naps in the garden, to the incredible and on-going events in and around San Luis Obispo county...Gull Cottage - Morro Bay is the perfect place to unwind and get away. Not in the mood to cook? Take a trip to the Embarcadero and eat seafood and bbq'd oysters at some of the most amazing restaurants along the coast. You'll love your seal friends too!
Just a short drive up the coast (about 20 minutes) You really could spend hours milling about through the stores and galleries. Head to The Nest for great food!
A western town at the ocean?! It's true! This is a great place to go visit the many antique stores and for a great seafood bite!
A magical experience. Try it at dusk and watch the sun go down. You can make reservations at the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Just a few minutes past the Hearst Castle is the famous site of the Elephant Seals. Check to see if they are there before you take the trip. They are massive and beautiful!

Hi! We're Grant and Jessica George, proud owners of Gull Cottage - Morro Bay, Ca. We work in the tv/film industry in Los Angeles as Voice Over talent for different movies, tv shows, radio, cartoons and corporations. Jessica also works as a Marriage and Family Therapist. We began traveling to the Central Coast to go on creativity weekends, where we would write, develop and create some well-known and wonderful projects. We found Gull Cottage within a day and knew it was a perfect place for us to relax and grow our family. It's a magical place and has provided moments, hours and days of bliss for family, friends and our vacationers!

Calling Visiting Cal Poly Parents! I've waffled between raving online about my experience here or keeping it my very closest secret. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home and surrounded by TLC and beachy artistic warmth. I arrived with my dog and found it so wonderful to be able to open the back door to a fully fenced sweetly welcoming backyard that was completely private (complete with charcoal grill and utensils). I have a son at Cal Poly (an easy 20 minute drive), one at UCSB and another living in Palo Alto- it's a great location to gather. We all enjoyed the peace and beauty. We soon discovered Cayucas beach (with my dog off leash)! While walking, a horseback rider trotted by with his dog trailing. The beach is so very different than the LA beaches I'm used to- it feels almost virgin in comparison. You have to go to understand. The owners, Jessica and Grant, were so responsive, friendly and organized- not in residence, but available if needed. It truly felt like we were visiting a friend's home. If you enjoy artistic endeavors of any kind- no matter what level, the cottage will encourage your creativity. Spencers market right down the street has homemade preserves and butters to die for. The restaurant recommendations from the owners were spot on. Our family highly recommends Gull Cottage for your next stay. (and it's SOOO much better than the motels- even if they are close to campus!) We bet you'll agree.

Wow! What a great stay. Not only is the house adorable with every need covered, but we took the kids to Del Mar Park just a short walk away from the house. We took Molly the Trolley into town and took the great suggestions that the owners had given us. They are "foodies" so listen, they knew their stuff. Even their recommendations for kayaking just off the beaten path made for a great time had by all. This house is in a neighborhood and not in town. But there isn't traffic and we rode our bikes down the beautiful bike path. Morro Bay is a quaint little town that has no evidence of "city" in it. We are coming back and coming back to Gull Cottage for sure! This is one of the best rental houses we have been in and we travel a lot! It's spotless and absolutely charming.

What a delightful time. From the moment we called, owner Jessica answered every question we had. The reservation process takes a minute and she is amazingly organized. As far as the cottage, it's adorable and decorated perfectly with extra blankets, a "forgot something" basket, a lovely little deck where we watched the cows and every amenity that you can think of. The beach was a hop, skip and jump away and we took some of the great insider tips that the owners gave to us about places to eat, things to do and local attractions. My wife and I have already decided to come back next year and stay at the Gull Cottage.
