Our LOG CABIN CHALET, built in 2006, is truly a private mountain getaway, located 10 minutes from the friendly town of Burnsville in Yancey County. Your family or small group will find our log cabin to be the perfect getaway from the stresses of daily life, while enjoying nature at its very best.
Relax in the secluded hot tub on a separate deck, among nature, enjoying the sounds and sweet mountain air and beautiful long range mountain views. The Cane River which is about a 5 minute walk from the cabin is 100 to 200 feet wide and accessible to fishing.
Walk down the side of the mountain on a stairway, to our private campfire site, with well stocked dry firewood. Enjoy roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. You can see the campfire site from the Hot Tub on the ground floor. When going into the basement from the Hot Tub is a foosball table.
This three-floor log cabin is extremely secluded. Interior walls are finished with tongue and groove native Knotty Pine, and equipped with a gas log fireplace, ceiling fans, and central air conditioning and heat for your comfort.
Upon entering our cabin on the second floor, you will find yourself in the family room. Get ready to snuggle up on the sofa or loveseat in front of the gas log fireplace. The family room has a 36 inch High Definition Television, Direct TV, and a DVD/CD player with a variety of DVDs. This entire second level has solid oak hardwood floors, with Berber carpet in the two bedrooms. There’s also a large laundry room with a washer and dryer for your convenience.
The kitchen has beautiful oak cabinets and all new modern appliances, including an electric glass top stove, microwave, toaster over, coffee maker, and dishwasher. All cookware, dinnerware, and utensils are provided. There is a gas barbecue grill on the front covered deck for your use, along with 4 rocking chairs to soak up the scenery. There’s also a ping-pong table in the garage.
The 400 square foot loft, on the third floor, has a beautiful, solid oak, king size bedroom set with a thick pillow top mattress and your own private full bathroom. There’s also two soft leather recliners for reading, viewing another 36” television, or looking outside the huge loft windows, with beautiful views - truly a getaway within a getaway.
Our Cabin is ideally located within an hour’s drive of ski resorts and all major attractions in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, including The Blue Ridge Parkway 30 minutes away, The Biltmore Estate 40 minutes away, Asheville 30 minutes away, Blowing Rock, Boone, Grandfather Mountain and Banner Elk. The Mount Mitchell Golf and Country Club is 30 minutes away, voted top 10 in North Carolina and rated 4½ stars by Golf Digest, as is the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to Mount Mitchell State Park, which is the highest elevation East of the Mississippi River, 6684 feet. In fact, Yancey County has the 18 tallest peaks east of the Rocky Mountains. Skiiing at Wolf Laurel is also 30 minutes away. Whitewater rafting in Hot Springs is only 40 minutes away. We have a binder of information of places to go and things to do.
Discover the nearby towns overflowing with local crafts, Southern hospitality and rich history, along with the Penland School of Art. Yancey County is filled with more artists per capita than any other location in the nation. Galleries and numerous private studios are abundant. Nearby is gemstone panning - great fun for kids.
If you are expecting a larger group or family reunion, two other similar cabins are nearby. One is approximately 400 feet away; the other is a four minute drive. All three cabins can sleep 24 to 28 people. Added discounts if renting 2 or 3 cabins at a time.

Weekend Special $375 - Friday AM to Sunday 2:00 PM.
Nightly rates are 2 nights minimum. $75 Cleaning Fee required.
Payment in Full is due at reservation for booking a weekend or 2-3 nights.
Payments for longer stay require 50% Deposit at reservation, balance
due 30 days prior to arrival date. Security Deposit required.
Cancellations must be 30 days notice to gain full refund.

House is beautiful, nice location and equipped with everything. We visited family and took in the beautiful countryside. Highly recommend the Frend Broad Rafting Expeditions and a visit to Grandfather Mountain. Can't wait to visit again!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. We are from New Jersey - the most densely populated state in the nation and we LOVED being so close to nature and getting away from it all. The cabin had every amenity we could possibly want, was very clean, and close to town for groceries, etc. We highly recommend the cabin. It will be tough going back to the traffic jams in New Jersey.

Beautiful place to spend our 5 year anniversary!! The 3rd Annual Blacksmith Festival was interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed the Toe River Arts Counsel Galleries! Also we loved the firepit!!
