This was a spacious house, very private with a beautiful view. House was very well equipped, with plenty of linen. Perfect location for exploring Yosemite. Driveway was very steep but added to the privacy and breathtaking views from the house. Check out time is a bit early in comparison to other properties and the fact that there is a lot of close out activities to complete when there are 6 people in the group. We bbq'd on the deck each night, relaxed the hot tub after hiking and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

From the moment my wife and I and our 14 month old son arrived at The Logger's Retreat (in Sept. 2011) we knew we were in for a great weeklong retreat. While we spent half our time hiking Yosemite, Tuolumne, and the Sequoias, the time we spent here was the perfect way to relax and soak in the Sierra air. The house was immaculate, well-furnished and well-stocked, and very comfortable. The furniture looked good AND felt good... and the big flat screen TV was a nice touch too (especially since we brought up our gaming system too :) ). Can't recommend The Loggers Retreat enough!

This is a well equipped house with all the facilities we could have wished for. It was very clean on arrival with lots of useful information provided about the house and surrounding area. Finding it was easy using the provided directions as well. It was very convenient for Yosemite being about as close as you can get to the southern entrance without actually being in the park. We self-catered having picked up all the groceries we needed at Raley's in Oakhurst on the way. Our Yosemite trips included Taft Point, Glacier Point and the west end of the valley near El Capitan. It being August the valley was busy around Yosemite Village but we didn't spend any time there so it wasn't so bad for us. We will happily return to Logger's Retreat if we ever make it back to Yosemite in the future.

Words cannot express how grateful we are in finding a beautiful place such as this. We truly and immensely enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by the majestic view of the surrounding mountains and the refreshing fresh air not available in the cities. Staying at Logger’s Retreat and visiting Yosemite could never have been memorable and pleasant where not for a convenient place to stay. We even wish we could have stayed longer. The convenience of the household amenities made it easy for us to prepare our meals after hours and hours of visiting the picturesque views that your house offers an addition to the short driving distance to the South Entrance of Yosemite Park. We truly looked forward to waking up each morning to see what the day had to offer. Our first day at Logger’s Retreat was snowing which was such a treat for us to have breakfast as we watched the flurry of snow blanketing the tall trees. The second day thankfully was sunny so we had the opportunity to venture to the park to explore. We look forward to visiting this beautiful place again!!! A really amazing and spacious place!

We had a group of 12 adults stay in this beautiful cabin for two nights in January and it was a really amazing space. There was plenty of sleeping options with essentially 4 bedrooms (1 bedroom upstairs and 3 downstairs). The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked so there's no need to have to bring your own cookware or spices. We also had a 13-mo old and there was a crib in the laundry room that was perfect for him. The place is extremely well-maintained and has spectacular views with large windows. The hot tub was also comfortable enough for 4-6 people and an awesome way to relax after a long day of snowshoeing in Yosemite. The owner was also very responsive to e-mails and any questions I had. Overall, an excellent rental! One of the best I've had on VRBO!

We stayed in the Logger's Retreat between Christmas and New Year's 2010. It was awesome. The house is nicer than it looks on line and bigger. It has a good layout and well working appliances. The area around the home is beautiful. The only draw back with the house is that it has white carpet...a bad choice for kids, but we managed by having some strict rules. We were snowed in twice and it was fun. We parked at the bottom of the driveway, but with 4 feet of snow, you call it a day and hang in the hot tub. The kids played in the snow fit hours on end. David, the owner was awesome, accommodating and attentive.... The kind of guy you want owning the house you rented. The house seemed to the three families that stayed there to be a good value for the money.

My family and I spent the long Thanksgiving weekend at this wonderful retreat & so close to Yosemite! We were lucky to have arrived days after an early snowfall. The home was spacious, clean & well equipped. It was such a great location with it's close proximity to Yosemite that we were able to spend 2 of our days in the snow covered park. I hope to go back to the "Loggers Retreat" in the future- hopefully spring or early summer. The property surrounding the home was beautiful but due to all the snow we couldn't take advantage of the nearby hiking trails on this visit . We brought along our 2 dogs & they loved it as much as we did ! The ONLY downfall was the steep icy driveway. David was informative about the driveway situation so we were well aware of a possible icy challenge and were prepared.

Our family of 11 stayed at the Logger's Retreat to attend the wedding of our niece in Yosemite Valley. The moment we stepped into the house, we felt comfortable and just about everything we needed was provided, including a baby crib, stroller and backpack! The place was very clean and well maintained and spacious. There were three generations of family but we all had comfortable beds and the linens were plentiful. The place was exactly as we saw in the pictures on the website and the owner was very helpful with information and finalizing the rental process. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the house and the Yosemite Valley, but we hope to return some day, and will heartily recommend Logger's Retreat to family and friends.

We stayed at the Logger's Retreat in September & had a wonderful experience. The house is absolutely amazing- it exceeded our expectations. It's large, clean, and beautiful. There are incredible views from every room. Very child-friendly- our one year old had a blast exploring everywhere. We used the baby carrier & crib- it was so nice not to have to bring our own. The best part of every day was having our coffee on the kitchen deck & watching the sunrise. "Retreat" is a perfect description!! We had a number of questions before our trip & David was very helpful in answering all of them. We will definitely be back.

I, my husband, son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and their dog had our own accommodations and it was wonderful never to feel invasive or crowded. We always got together for our family times in the main areas of the home, on the decks and also outside. We were close to the entrance of Yosemite, Mariposa Grove and other areas of interest. All necessary amenities were available in the home and to have magnificent views and scenic beauty was an added bonus. We awoke to the chirping of birds and feeling the gentle breezes wafting across our faces from the open windows. Our granddaughter was thrilled to have a fire in the firepit roasting marshmallows and the final night we sat sipping champagne in the hot tub gazing at the zillion stars in the sky. What more could you ask for? Thank you Suzanne and David for sharing your beautiful home.

We spent wonderful 4 days here. The house is in a great location, secluded, quiet, but close to Yosemite Valley. It has everything you might ever need. The caretaker and owner take great care of the house and their guests and help with everything you need. Our boys loved the snow storm and sledging down the driveway and hiking in the snow. We adults enjoyed beautiful view from the living room. We hope to come back.

We've just spent a fantastic week in this property. Everything is great up there, location, view, rooms, amenities, things to do, all exceptional. Even in the not so good time (who would have thought of 20" of fresh snow and a whole day power outage in April?), it was a great experience, not to mention David who drove-up from Pasadena to plow us out, without us asking for it ! The Loggers Retreat was amazing. It had everything we needed and more. The views were spectacular from every window in the house. While we were there, we got about 4-6 inches of snow which made the trip even more enjoyable. We had a great time exploring around the propery on treasure hunts as the kids call it. The only draw back was the driveway. We were able to drive up to the house on the first day and drop everything off. The next day was when we got all the snow so we had to park down the hill for the next 3 days. We really didn't mind, it just made it hard when we had to carry everything down to the car when we left. The kids (ages 4, 5 and 9) loved everything about the house as did my Husband and I. Thank you allowing us to stay in your wonderful house. We will be staying at the Loggers Retreat again.

This property is the best in the Yosemite region, with its expansive spaces and great location. Best yet, you needn't worry about hauling condiments, cleaning supplies, and toiletries up the hill, as the owners have outfitted the home with EVERYTHING you could ever need. The only thing to watch out for is the driveway. If you see any hint of snow on it or if their is a chance, forget about driving up. Just look at it as the most spectacular Stairmaster you'll ever use. Other than that, you'll enjoy every second there.

This home is the best available in Yosemite. We enjoyed the expansive spaces, great homesite, and the hospitality of the owners. Home is very well equipped; don't worry about linens, toiletries, condiments... as the home has it all. Just watch out for the steep driveway. If snow is in the offing, park at the bottom, and enjoy the most spectacular Stairmaster you'll ever use. Highly recommended.

With windows everywhere, the view is fabulous and the atmosphere very relaxing. It was a wonderful place to relax and unwind after busy days hiking through Yosemite. Although, the drive was a little far from Yosemite Valley, it was as good as it gets if you want to stay outside of the park, and not too far from restaurants and groceries. Oakhurst was about 14 miles, had numerous restaurants and at least 2 large grocery stores. The only slight down side for the 4 of us(we had 1 couple and 2 separate individuals) was that there was no shower in a public area of the house- both were accessed through bedrooms. However, this was only a minor inconvenience. I would definitely recommend this house, and would choose it again if we're ever in the area.

Truly a wonderful property! The view is amazing. If you really want to go to Yosemite and truly get AWAY from everyone AND stay in an amazing place, then Logger's Retreat is for you. We had friends who stayed in the valley and it was a zoo. Whereas we had a wonderful, isolated, relaxing time, but still a stone's throw from what you want to see. It was exactly what we were looking for. I wholehearted recommend!

We had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights in March during Spring Break! The house is spacious and laid out very well, with the master bedroom upstairs and the other bedrooms downstairs. The kitchen has everything you need to cook/prepare food....even condiments in the pantry and fridge. The best part is the fabulous view all along the back of the house! We had great weather for sitting on the decks and enjoying nature. Bring your own books or borrow one from their library and read to your heart's content outside. It was a very peaceful and relaxing trip, and I would certainly go back again. The only downside for some people might be the really steep, winding driveway and no satellite TV. But lucky for us, the huge snowfall came the day after we left!! Thanks again, David...we loved your home.
