Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2000

A group of fiends that share a love for the beauty and splendor of the area and everything it has to offer in outdoor activities, dining and of course shopping in Cody.

Why the Owner Chose Wapiti

My wife Janet and I fell in love with this area 12 years ago - how can you beat the mountains, the river, Yellowstone, Cody and the people. We ask your closet friends Dave and Kathy to consider sharing a second home with us in an area Teddy Roosevelt called the prettiest place on earth. Once they visited our home and the area they agreed and have never regretted the decision.

The Unique Benefits of this House

A true 360 degree view of the mountains. If you enjoy fishing, back country hiking, white water rafting, cross county skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling or horse back riding then this is the place for you. You are less than 25 miles from the east entrance to Yellowstone and less than 20 miles to the historic town of Cody.

Excellent Accomodations

Beautiful views from every direction. Close to Cody, convenient to Yellowstone and a trip to BearTooth. House is beautifully decorated, comfortble beds, everything we needed to cook and grill out. Was clean and the caretaker was pleasant to work with, very helpful. The owner, Frank, was informative and also accomodating when we requested a change. It was everything we hoped for on our 3 couple motorycyle ride West. We would definitely return.

An experience like no other!

My family of 6 spent a week at this welcoming haven with indescribable views. The photos posted don't do justice the the most awesome views you would ever want to wake up to. The house had plenty of room for my grown children with a kitchen that was very east to work from. I loved after coming home from a long, but memorable day in the parks to sit around the firepit and chat. This home offered us the quality time together we all need every now and then. We named the horse in the next pasture and fed him each morning, also deserving of names were all the elk heads! Your caretakers Jay and Ida are wonderful, generous people with lots of info to share. They are a treasure. With the house being about halfway between Cody and the entrance to the park, we felt it was perfect. Cody is a great town with everything you may need. Nearby we were able to white water raft, see the rodeo and of course my guys wanted to shoot guns for the first time.Take a trail ride up those beautiful mountains for a family Christmas picture you'll keep forever! We all left for the airport wishing we had another week, and vowing to return. Thank you Frank for a perfect "getaway house".
