  I had an amazing time staying at Jim's Beach House in Playa Grande with my family! All eight of us had enough space and privacy which was great! The location is perfect because it's just a short walk to the beach, close to three great restaurants, and a mini grocery store. I enjoyed being able to walk to the beach in the morning and go for runs down the beach. After a long run the pool was a perfect place to swim and cool off! You can hear all the birds and ocean while laying near the pool which made it so relaxing! We all could do the things we love to do on vacation while staying here. We enjoyed surfing, swimming in the pool and ocean, reading, walking on the beach! We liked going to happy hour at Bula Bula's for a margarita and appetizers! What’s so great about staying here is that you can walk to everything and don’t really need a car. The kitchen was perfect for making dinner at home and we could all sit at the big dining room table to enjoy dinner together! We used the bbq outside a few nights too! It’s just a short walk to get the boat that takes you across the estuary to Tamarindo where there is shopping and other great sightseeing! I will definitely be back to Jim’s Beach House again!

  Just finished two incredible weeks at Jim's Beach House! Many thanks for the hospitality and fun times. My husband and I enjoyed peaceful mornings on the balcony with our coffee, listening to the birds, taking photos, lounging at the pool, and walking the beach every morning. My brother was up early to check out the morning waves at Playa Grande so the guys could catch the best surf. Our 4 adult children loved the beach, pool time, surfing, and local sightseeing, especially at Bulla Bulla's where we were warmly welcomed. We soaked up the sunset views and took a few road trip adventures to the National Parks to hike, soak in the hot springs, and tour the rainforest. Everything was spectacular!

  Our group of five friends spent a relaxing week at Jim's house on Playa Grande. The house is very spacious and provides a lot of privacy with the bedrooms widely spearated. Having the private pool is a great to come back after a day in Tamarindo, on the beach or zip-lining to relax during the cocktail hour. Max cleaned the pool every morning and was a big help in arranging our zip-lining excursion about a 40 minute drive from the house. He also shared tips about local restuarants and other resources. For example, on Thursday afternoon, a man and his son came by the house with coolers full of iced fresh fish, lobster and shrimp. We bought plenty for our group and grilled it for a tasty meal by the pool. Jim's son Willie was always available to answer questions as we made our reservations and gave us tips on restaurants and other activities. We had fun at the neghborhood Great Waltini's Restaurant and walked there for dinner on two nights.

  Had a great time, Jim's beach house was extremely comfortable and accommodating for all our relaxing needs! Poolside was an afternoon favourite! For all our touristy needs we had Max who was so helpful in directing us in the right direction with the right people, as well as being around for a few good laughs! For my 3rd visit back to Playa Grande once again I left counting the days till I go back! Pura Vida!

  I visited Jim's Beach House for a last minute getaway in December and was blown away by the size of this home. We spent countless hours by the pool and enjoyed the ambiance of the area to its fullest. The property manager, Max, is as helpful as any person I have encountered on my travels. He helped out with arranging travel to and from the airport, some excursions for us to do, and was a really knowledgable about the area and pointed us in the right direction for everything we needed. You will find a long term friend in Max. The house is immaculate and has plenty of room with well appointed rooms all with King size beds and futons. This place can sleep a ton of people and everyone will have more than enough space to enjoy your own private vacation within your vacation home. Very short walk to a pristine beach and a 5 minute walk to a grocery store with alcohol and small stuff for the house. All in all, you can't go wrong with this house and we hope to return this year and make Jim's Beach house a regular vacation home!

  I just spent Thanksgiving week at Jim's Beach House. We had such a great time! The house was very spacious and had everything we needed... towels for the beach, cookware for Thanksgiving dinner, a pool, BBQ, etc. The house is so close to the beach and in a great location. We could have spent the entire week, never walking more than 5 minutes from them house and been completely entertained. We rented surf boards and boogie boards, had breakfast, dinner and drinks at some of the local restaurants and caught the gorgeous sunsets each night. We did drive up to the volcano for a day, it was awesome. We got to do zip-lining, horseback riding, rafting and then soaked in the hot springs at the end of the day. I would definitely recommend this for a day trip. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and I already can't wait to go back. Also, a special thank you to Jim, Willie, and Max for checking in on us before, during and after the trip to make sure we arrived safely and had everything we needed.

  Upon arriving at the house, we were amazed at how beautiful it was. Stunning natural wood beams everywhere and it seems to just "fit" in with all the nature that surrounds it. The full kitchen made it easy to cook home-style dinners to save a little money and then venture out to some of the local restaurants when we wanted to have others cook for us. Dinners on the patio were the best! The crystal blue pool was nice to cool off when it got too hot for the beach. Overall, this is the best vacation house we have ever stayed at and will stay there next year when we go back. Thanks for having us!

  My Friend and I stayed 4 nights at Jim's beach house and had a wonderful time! Staying only a short (40 sec) walk from Playa Grande enabled us to surf as much as our hearts' desired. The waves right out from the house were always fun and without crowds at all. The house was very clean, furnished, and provided all necessities including proper cookware and spices to outdoor activities like kayaking. There were a selection of restaurants and a small market within a few minute walk of the house, which was very convenient. The town of Tamarindo is only about a 10 - 15 minute walk down the beautiful beach and across the estuary where a boat taxi can give you a ride for a $1 in case you need to go into town. The house also provided a list of phone numbers for tourist activities nearby, and plenty of Costa Rica Guide books, and fun ideas from previous guests. We felt very safe and secure in the beach house and the Playa Grande community, and had no problems at all. Overall it was a perfect vacation in paradise and an experience we will never forget. We can't wait to go back and stay at Jim's Beach House!! Pura Vida!!!

  The place worked out great for our family trip, all adults. Plenty of room for all. The people there were very helpful with helping arrange all our activites. Try the zipline by the volcano, 50-60 mph, its awesome. -

  loved it - owners made it easy, property manager was fantastic. secluded, close to beach, so good. pool was perfect for kids when it got too hot. AC make the nights cool.
