I am one of a group of 14 University of Vermont Pi Phiis, class of '75, who rent a house on the shore every year for a long weekend. Our houses have always been lovely, but this one stood out as the best for its accomodations. With its 8 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, two kitchens and huge livingroom, there was plenty of space for us all. The weather was overcast unfortunately for the entire stay, but it is a wonderfully charming and cozy house to be in in any kind of weather. The deck is huge with beautiful views and a great little beach right down the stairs. The bay is perfect for children to swim in, and the bottom looked nice and sandy and clean for adults to swim in as well. I would highly recommend this house!

Words cannot describe how wonderful our Southwest at Little Harbor weekend was. It was the perfect setting for our office birthday weekend. The house is magnificent and lent itself beautifully to mingling, relaxing, and to everyone present finding their own niche and activity. The setting is spectacular. The sunsets could be appreciated from the home's large deck. The house has every amenity. Everyone was enveloped in the comfort of the home and the many fireplaces. There is not one need or want that the house and setting did not satisfy. The owner was incredibly helpful and accomodating leading up to our weekend - a true pleasure to work with her. Thank you Southwest at Little Harbor for making our celebration so memorable.

This house is a gem, located just an hour away from Boston. Incredibly spacious, with gorgeous views of the ocean.

My family visited this INCREDIBLE home for the 4th time to celebrate Christmas. As always, we had a great time enjoying the waterviews, relaxing by the fire, cooking dinner all together in the huge kitchen, and we mostly love the warm and inviting atmosphere of this fabulous home! Kate is wonderful to work with and of course Lew is a sweatheart! I would NEVER hesitate to book this house..in fact, I wish I would hit the lottery so I could rent for a week in the summer! Our family's stay at your home was absolutely beautiful in every way! We were married @ sunrise on Christmas eve and then our two families returned to the house for 3 days of heaven. The sunsets from the large deck were magnificent. We couldn't t imagine a better place than your view of buzzards bay. Also, the way the house is laid out so that each and every bedroom has a water view was great. No fighting over rooms... The house was thoughtfully restored in that it retained all of its original charm and you can just feel all of the special times that must have been shared over the years. The two kitchens had great layouts and were well stocked with all accessories needed. The enclosed porches at each end of the house were also a wonderful place to relax or socialize. The large living/family room provided more than enough room and seating for our large party. Basically, plenty of room for everyone to be together, but also plenty of room to spread out for pricacy or to just kick back and read. Not to mention the view and a few fireplaces throughout the house. Our time at southwest at little harbor was truly exquisite and we will cherish these memories always. The rental family was great and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. We believe they truly appreciate what a special place they have and show much generosity in wanting to share it with others. Pictures do not do this property and home justice.

Great Weekend Getaway

We rented this house for a long weekend in September and loved it. We were right on the beach, walking distance to a golf course and a short drive to the Cape, Boston and other great destinations. The bedrooms were perfect, we had a bigger crowd but were still able to get everyone into a bed. The seven bathrooms was also perfect when we needed to get ready to go out in a hurry. It was almost like having a private bathroom! The house is well stocked for big meals too! We had steaks and veggies on the grill and since there were two kitchens we were able to have 4 lobsterpots going at once in addition to pan cooked items. Finally, our hosts were very gracious and accomodating. They were able to answer questions and when we had bad weather for most of the weekend they even offered to let us extend our stay by 1/2 a day at no extra charge. You won't go wrong renting this place!

Family Reunion

We will be spending our family vacation in 2012 for the third consecutive year, in this great home on what feel like our own private beach. It is spacious and comfortable, very clean, and well equipped. It has something for each of our three generations. It was fun to watch three of the teenagers graduate to setting up sail and going out on our catamaran for the first time. We're all looking forward to next summer...perhaps to find our own private corner or to join others for games, kayaking, or relaxing on the beach. Building sandcastles on the sandbar is also enjoyed by all.

Cape Cod Magic

Our family has spent a marvelous week at this wonderful ocean front home in Cape Cod since 2004. Not only is it an enjoyable experience because of the location and the terrific house, but the privacy that can be enjoyed on this huge lot is unique. We go in early July and have always found that the breeze off the ocean keeps it cool, inside and outside. It is just a short drive to stores and restaurants but it still feels like you are out on your own island. There is easy access for kayaks and during low tide, children can walk out for several hundred yards and it is only knee deep. There is no place better to vacation in the Northeast than this!

I have rented this beautiful home 5 times. Each time I walk through the front door, I feel like I am coming home. It is warmly decorated, immaculate, spacious, inviting, well stocked and offers a gorgeous ocean view. Kate and Lew are a pleasure to work with. I have rented for friends getaway weekends and for my family Christmas party.I cannot respond as to what is in the area for activities, because we never leave the house once we arrive since we are there for relaxation. I highly recommend this home rental for any occation and any type of traveler. Whether a girls weekend, family re-union, parents with children, couples...everyone will enjoy Southwest at LIttle Harbor.

Offsite Business Meeting

I rented this home for our company's 3 day offsite budget planning meeting with a week's notice for 16 coworkers. I'm very pleased to say it exceeded our expectations in terms of space, layout, and accessibility but it was also a beautiful environment in which to conduct this meeting from a teambuilding perspective. We cooked together in the spacious kitchen(s) and there was room for everyone to pitch in. I can't say enough about the ease with which this last-minute meeting was planned and executed and that's in part due to working with Kate and Lauren. Thanks for a successful 2011 Budget Planning Session!

A lovely wedding getaway

We reserved the house for our fall wedding weekend, so that our families would have a place to stay for several nights together, and we could hold the service in the large living room. The house was perfect -- roomy enough to be together and not together, comfortable, clean, and full of character. The location was perfect -- autumn sunlight and color by the ocean. It was a very small wedding, and our guests reported that they had a fantastic time, so we know we made the right choice. We will forever treasure our wedding memories at this place.

We need not spend time searching for the perfect vacation this year as we found it in your great home in July 2010. It has everything from the warm and friendly greeting by Lew and Lauren, great kitchens which were very clean , well maintained, and well supplied, to the superb view and sandy beach upon which many sandcastles were built. It has something for everyone...space for gathering and space for that quiet time, both inside and outdoors. I am ready to sign a contract for July 2011. My children and grandchildren can hardly wait for another great family vacation at SOUTHWEST AT LITTLE HARBOR.

My husband and I rented Southwest at Little Harbor for our daughter’s wedding in June of 2010. This lovely, beachfront estate was the perfect site for a traditional New England wedding! This venue would accommodate intimate weddings, anniversary celebrations, retreats, reunions, or extended family vacations beautifully. The home is lovely - very roomy and welcoming for guests of all ages. The facilities are wonderful. The gourmet kitchens, sun porches and common areas, the numerous large bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the private beach, all in beautiful seaside surroundings, make it a perfect place to entertain family and friends and celebrate a special occasion. The home is very comfortable, with its own distinct charm – a great place to relax and enjoy life! Many opportunities exist for pursuing outdoor leisure and water-related sports and activities. There is plenty of space to accommodate those who want to relax privately, gather in small groups, or enjoy being with the group at large. We especially enjoyed that our close family and friends were able to spend the entire weekend with us and that we could enjoy preparing many special meals together. In addition to being pleasant, helpful and accommodating, Kate, one of the family members who owns and manages the home, was very efficient in helping to meet our needs, answer our many questions, and make excellent referrals for various caterers and vendors. Family members, Lew and Lauren, were on-site to greet us when we arrived and make sure the home was in pristine condition. We have such special memories of the wedding weekend at Southwest at Little Harbor. For the quintessential New England experience, celebrate your special occasion here!

The best birthday party for our NANA for her 85th. Your house is beautiful and just perfect for our extended family. The kids enjoyed every inch of the beach and the basketball court. Our girl's club stayed here for the weekend! We invited our husbands to join us and despite the "chick flicks" and "girly games" they had a great time too. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home1 In the past, we had gone to a hotel down the Cape or rent a home in N.H. Neither of those accommodations came close to how much we loved our stay here. We are already talking about our next visit and want to stay longer. Your home is so HUGE and beautiful but you have managed to give it a warm and homey feeling.

Our family is spread across the country and every summer we look forward to spending time together in a "fun place". Southwest at Little Harbor has by far been the most fun place of all! All the bedrooms, bathrooms, sunrooms & long hallways gave all 10 adults and 6 grandchildren (10 years to one year) plenty of space to have fun, run around, sleep-in or sneak off to read in a quiet, peaceful place. Thank you for sharing this treasure with us. I especially enjoyed the beautiful landscaping, and waking up to the sound of the ocean. We loved Chef Paul, the clambake was fantastic, best clam chowder we'd ever had - and he was a delight!
