Haro Haiku on the West side of beautiful San Juan Island The house is nestled below the ridge line - with the Olympic mountains, the Strait of Juan de Fuca beyond, and Haro Straits immediately below. Approaching the house, you pass by a Japanese-inspired garden with a 62 year old Bonzi black pine center piece. Inside Haro Haiku you'll find a contemporary blend of eastern and western style and decor with a decidedly Asian attitude. The interior lets the outside in through an ingenious use of sky lights and widow placements in the exterior and interior walls.
The views are spectacular!! From South Vancouver island, across the straits to the Olympic Mountains, Pt Townsend, Mt Rainier, and Whidbey Island it never fails to inspire and delight. Sunrises, sunsets, ship and boat traffic, the lights of Victoria, and the Olympic Peninsula, clear starry nights, cloud formations, combined with the sound of whales and surf below. Truly awesome!!!
