High above the rat race, yet minutes from I-40, this spacious, rustic and elegant cabin lets you escape Above it All! Up here, you’ll enjoy discovering the special touches that await you throughout this charmingly appointed log home. Whether enjoying the cozy elegance of the four bedroom, three bath, three story cabin or discovering the local attractions that are conveniently nearby in Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Asheville or Cherokee, you will feel welcomed and instantly at home.
Every detail has been attended to and you will find special touches in every room from big fluffy bath towels and luxurious pillow top beds with hotel quality linens; to a graveled terrace in the yard, complete with a fire ring; to hot chocolate and candles waiting for you in the exceptionally well equipped kitchen cabinets; to a deck swing that lets you float out over the endless mountain views, soaking up relaxing moments, above it all.
With so much to see and do nearby, you’ll have a hard time deciding if you’ll spend the day at home enjoying the creature comforts and activities provided at the cabin, such as books, board games, video games, movies and satellite TV on the High Definition Wide Screen TVs (the one in the great room has surround sound), getting family or friends involved in a rousing game of pool in the rec room, or just relaxing in the oversized Hot Tub out on one of the two decks, perhaps after a stroll, hike or jog (you decide your speed!) along the endless country back roads that wind up and down in our area. Among never ending carpets of wildflowers, beautiful trees and abundant wildlife, the impressive ridgeline views of the Smoky Mountains will take your breath away, if the hiking doesn't! There’s even a Civil War period graveyard just around the bend, inviting the courageous to explore.
Just a short scenic drive will take you into the Great Smoky National Park and the Cataloochee Valley where more hiking trails beckon. This valley is home to the only herd of Elk this side of the Mississippi. The elk have been re-introduced into the park and are freely roaming through the valley. Wander and explore the preserved pioneer community while watching for the elk to come down to the open meadows for their morning and evening grazing. There are a number of beautiful waterfalls also in the area and you won’t want to miss the thrill of Sliding Rock – a 75 foot natural water slide!
In nearby Maggie Valley, you’ll find lots of fun activities. There’s skiing and snow tubing in the winter at Cataloochee Ski Area. In the summer, play golf, go rafting or horseback riding. The kids can race go carts, play mini golf or mine for gems among other things. Less than 10 minutes away is the delightful town of Waynesville with all the amenities you’d expect to find in a small city. The award winning downtown area of Waynesville has been restored to its earlier charm and glory, boasting wonderful shopping and dining. Downtown Waynesville is sure to be a highlight of your vacation-it always is for our family. And if you are up for a slightly longer drive, Harrah’s Casino is in nearby Cherokee and in the other direction, a mere 20 minutes away, is Asheville and the famous Biltmore Estate.
We invite you, whether as a couple for a romantic getaway, or a larger gathering of family and friends (we have a network of friends with other cabins within walking distance) to enjoy this wonderfully charming mountain getaway -- Above it All!

My wife, I and 3 children spent a wonderful week at Above It All. This is probably one of the nicest cabins in the area. The house has plenty of space to stretch out, relax and even hide from the kids :-) The home is equipped with state of the art electronics for entertainment, fully stocked kitchen, lots of movies, games, you name it. The home is neat and very well taken care of, absolutely Awesome! You will not regret booking this home but it may be hard to leave. Chris & Sarah

We just had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful cabin the week of Christmas. It snowed on Christmas day and kept snowing for 4 days. The cabin is well built and beatifully decorated. The cabin is wonderful for extended families to get together at because each of the three levels offers privacy. We would recommend 4 wheel drive cars during snow season. We ended up staying in the cabin the entire week because we were afraid we wouldn't be able to get back up the mountain with a foot of snow on the ground. It was okay though because there were so many games and movies provided not to mention the great sledding hill and jacuzzi. We would love to come back again but next time we'll bring a snow shovel to dig out.

I can't say enough good things about this cabin or our week there this summer. In fact, I'm looking at the photos again just to reminisce! :-) This cabin is so well appointed that I was continually amazed at how much thought must have been given to the details. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and there are books and notes and instructions and recommendations on everything in the cabin and in the area. It's just a perfect place! The fire pit was wonderful. The size of the cabin allowed us to spread out. The view is unmatched. I've told so many friends about this cabin that I only hope it's available when I'm ready to come back! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We loved it!

Spectacular views and a great setting. Our family spent three nights at "Above It All." Wonderful views from the sunrise and fog in the valley to the stars at night. One of our sons proposed to his girlfriend while on the porch with the mountains in the backdrop. Needless to say we were all happy to experience the warmness and beauty of the cabin. We hated to leave. Excellent location to any place you want to go from Waynesville to Cherokee. We would highly recommend "Above It All."

We just returned from a weeks vacation in "Above It All" and I must say that it was absolutely wonderful there. The "cabin" was beautiful and completely furnished with anything and everything you could possibly need, even down to games for children! The owners went to great lengths to make sure everything is there for your enjoyment and relaxation. We went with 3 other couples (no grandkids this time) and enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi, playing pool, roasting marshmallows on the fire pit outside, having cocktails on the porch in the evening and looking out among the mountains to the beautiful stars in the sky. We did everything we set out to do, including horseback riding in Maggie Valley and seeing ELK in Cataloochee Valley! There's nothing like visting the mountains to bring you back to nature and refresh your heart! We were all so glad that we picked this cabin for our vacation and vowed to return soon! Thanks for one of our Top 5 vacations ever!
