This large three bedroom two bath home built in 2006 is over 1400 square feet and has wood flooring, new appliances and new furniture. The home sits on a secluded 5 acre lot minutes from the Cosby entrance of the Smokey Mountains. You can walk right out the front for long quite strolls of nature viewing. It's a nice walk to a local farm with produce stand or to watch horses feed in large pastures. The heavily wooded lot is in a natural Appalachian Mountain environment that consist of many tress, boulders, plant life and no visible neighbors. There is a commercial street light and large steel gate on the property for safety and privacy.
Three different entrances to the Smokey Mountain National Park (Cosby, Greenbrier and Big Creek) are within 35 minutes for fishing, hiking, tubing, rafting and swimming.
All the shows and action of Gatlinburg are a simple 30 min drive down HWY 321, yet the house is away from the hassles and traffic jams on HWY 441.
Although the house is located in a secluded area, it is only minutes from the Newport Shopping District with a Wal-Mart, restaurants, and entertainment. Enjoy live Blue Grass music every weekend at the famous Front Porch restaurant 10 minutes away or take in a stock car race on Saturday night at the Newport Speedway. You have the choice of 4 different rivers for rafting located within 1.5 hours, while the Pigeon River is only 30 minutes away (visit NOC dot com for information on rafting)The home is located 15 minutes from I-40 and 10 minutes from Newport, Tennessee off HWY 321. Mapquest directions show it's 29 miles from the homes driveway to Gatlinburg city limits off Hwy 321.
A word to the wise: Please be diligent in your VRBO search. I see so many nice looking cabins on this site in the Cosby/Gatlinburg area. The problem is many are located directly off a busy/noisy road.
