Meadow View Lodge was a great choice for a vacation/get-to-gether with our adult children and their spouses this summer. There was ample room for all eight of us and something for everyone with an entertainment center, pool table, fast internet access and a hot tub. The house is well located to visit all the attractions in the southwest corner of Colorado that surround Durango proper. We hiked, drove jeep trails, visited Mesa Verde and found wonderful shopping and dining in town. At the end of each day, Meadowview Lodge provided quiet and privacy and, as promised, incredible views. The deck, the living room and the master bedroom all have fantastic mountain vistas - exactly what we came to Colorado for. As we are a family of cooks, we were especially impressed with the well stocked kitchen. Absolutely everything we needed for large family meals was to be found, including a grill and serving dishes. Keith was more like a host than an owner - he checked in, offered advice and made sure our visit came off without a hitch. We enjoyed our stay in this house immensely and will come back first chance we get.

What a beautiful home! We were fortunate to spend two weeks and enjoyed every minute. The views were breathtaking, really better than photos can convey. The house was comfortable, clean, and stocked with everything needed. The pool table and hot tub were both great perks. We enjoyed hikes around the house and saw wildlife every day. Great location - we were minutes from town, train, & airport. We also enjoyed Mesa Verde. The owner was attentive and helpful – lots of tips on what to do and where to dine. We’d love to stay again!

We had the pleasure to stay at Meadow View Lodge for 5 days in June. The wonderful views were as described. The house was clean and had the supplies we needed for our stay. Keith was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Our boys enjoyed the pool table, hot tub and hiking around the house. We enjoyed having space for them to run around. Unfortunately, our travel schedule didn't leave us much down time at the house. We are hoping for a return trip soon so we can enjoy the house more. We did not get to see any wildlife around the house - that was our only true disappointment. We had a wonderful vacation - we will definitely recommend the Meadow View Lodge to our friends and family looking for a great place to stay while in Durango.

Our family of 6 stayed at the Meadow View Lodge for a week, and enjoyed every minute of it. The description of the house is absolutely accurate, and our high expectations have not been disappointed. The house looks just like it does on the pictures with tasteful interior, and the really stunning view! The owner will make sure that you have everything you need, and can be reached at any time. He really wants you to have a great time in his house. It also is the perfect location to explore the southwest of Colorado. Mesa Verde, Telluride etc. are all only one to two hours away. And Durango is a small but vibrating town with beautiful shops. I definitely would recommend the Meadow View lodge to friends and relatives.

Instead of giving gifts, each year my husband and I take our children on a vacation for Christmas. We have found that the memories bring more joy and last much longer than gifts. This December we went to Durango. Unfortunately, the snow did not cooperate and many of our activities had to be canceled. Fortunately, we stayed at the Meadow View Lodge. When we weren't checking out the local tourist attractions, we hiked around the property, relaxed in the hot tub, had a "pool" tournament, played games by the fire and enjoyed the beautiful views. Thank you Keith for these wonderful memories!

My family and I go to Durango every year for Halloween, and this year we had the good fortune of choosing the Meadow View Lodge to stay at. This was by far the best place we have stayed in Durango. Keith went out of his way to make sure that everything was perfect for our stay (and it was) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed hot tubbing under the stars and playing pool until the wee hours of the night. One of the best features of this house was the AMAZING VIEWS. The house is located on top of a hill and you can see for miles in every direction. The location of the house is great too, far enough outside of town to really feel like you are 'getting away from it all' but close enough to town to go shopping or go to dinner. We have been staying in Durango for many years, and generally we like to try out new places every year, but that all change after staying at the Meadow View Lodge... We have found our new vacation spot! Thank you Keith!

A special thank you again to Keith for our best lodging experience yet. The home is beautiful, the view is heavenly and the location is perfect. We also appreciate the special attention given to make sure our stay was comfortable. The first morning we were there, I went out with binoculars to watch for deer but found I didn't need them because the deer come right up by the house morning and evening! We spent many hours out on the deck but the view from inside the home with the large windows is just as wonderful. This truly is a dream home, Thank you Jean & Bill

This house was exceptional in everyway, it was tucked away on a mountain overlooking the fields below in the Pines. Nice clean sheets and beds, and a great steam shower. There even was a hot tub to look at the stars and a grill to cook the steaks. We loved every day and kicked back on the deck or went on soaring in Durango! We will be back Kevin and thanks! More than we expected. Much more. Meadow View Lodge is a very secluded piece of heaven, high on a hill with breathtaking views. The pictures on the website are very good and accurate, but they just can't do justice to the actual peace and sedate surroundings of the home. We stayed one week, and the only visitors we had were chipmunks and squirrels (and quite a few muledeer around as we went back and forth to town). A short drive to town, about 15 minutes, Durango is so far, our favorite town in Colorado, and we've been hitting quite a few of them the last few years. We rode the train to Silverton, visited Mesa Verde, went to the melodrama play in town (which was followed by a wonderful Vaudeville act (this, in Durango, I thought???). The actors were truly excellent! Check it out. Keith, the home owner, was very conscientious from beginning to end and was a pleasure to do business with. We loved the home and the location so much, we considered making him an offer! It was truly difficult to leave. Trust everything you see on the website, it is everything and more. Just make sure you have a good map to get there - it is remote (which is what we wanted!). We plan to return, again, and again. Thanks, Keith. Keep us in mind, if you do want to sell..........Jim and Cheryl, Oklahoma City.

There always seems to be a bit of hesitancy, espcially being a a first time VRBO renter. However, after e-mailing Keith and talking to him about his Meadow View Lodge, we felt very comfortable. We stayed there in June and would highly recommend it. It provided easy access to Durango and surrounding areas. Beautifully set on the mountain side with wonderful views. The house was a great place to come back to after an adventerous day to kick back, relax and enjoy the hot tub. We would definitely be a repeat renter.

My husband, dog and I arrived at the Meadow View Lodge for a one weeks’ stay, immediately we were taken in by the wonderful surroundings of the 22 acre property. We immediately booked an additional day. As we entered into the house we instantly felt at home. The furnishings were very tastefully done and inviting. The views were spectacular from every direction; we awoke the first morning to the almost-full moon setting over the La Plata Mountains, we were visited in the morning by deer and enjoyed the back roads behind the house for running with our dog. We have been staying at VRBO houses for the past 4 months and Keith has been one of our best hosts. He was very accessible to answer questions and very attentive to our needs. Fortunately or unfortunately, we had blizzard conditions the day we were to check out and needed to extend our stay, Keith once again came to the rescue. Dennis came and plowed the two days worth of snow and there was a lot of it. We never felt stranded! This was definitely a great location and house! Thanks Keith!

WOW! What an incredible home situated in the trees with fabulous views and lots of peace and quiet. My husband and I, our two small kids, my parents and their two dogs thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities this beautiful property provided. The layout was perfect for early risers and late nighters, hot tub on the deck to watch the sun rise or set or view the wildlife (we saw turkeys and deer), great hikes and plenty of pool tournaments kept us busy and happy. The drive downtown was short and pleasant. Yes, we highly recommend the Meadow View Lodge and special thanks to our great host, Keith, who was professional and personable and always a phone call away. It made our Thanksgiving vacation so memorable. Thank you.

We spent a very relaxing Labor Day weekend at the Meadow View Lodge. It was the perfect place to see the wilderness and enjoy some time out of the city. The house was perfect for our group and our dog had a ton of room to roam and explore. Keith was easily accessible with any question. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and look forward to getting back to the MVL sometime soon.

Keith's Meadow View Lodge is a fantastic place to stay if you're thinking of vacationing in the Durango area. The house is situated high on a ridge, which offers both seclusion and spectacular views, yet it's simply a short drive to town, where you can find just about anything you want among the various stores, shops, restaurants, etc. The house itself is very well-maintained and has every modern amenity. Relaxing in the hot tub was a fabulous way to unwind, especially after a long active day in the mountains. Keith is the consummate host. He was extremely accommodating and always available if we had questions or special requests. I highly recommend the Meadow View Lodge to anyone who appreciates privacy combined with luxury and value.

The home is nestled all the way at the top of a private road. It is the perfect house if you want to be away from noise and traffic. From the deck you overlook the tops of the trees below....and sitting in the hot tub at night with a thousand stars above you fells like heaven. There are great trails in walking distance. The house is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and it is all done with style and care! From the garage to enter by, the steam shower, the soft sheets and towels and the pool table-everything makes you feel quite at home. I highly recommend Mountain View Lodge to anyone looking for a place in Durango that is off the main road but close enough to get to any destination with ease. Susan VDP

We just got back from staying at Meadow View Lodge for a week during spring break/Easter 4/12/09. It was wonderful. One could not ask for a more beautiful or relaxing place to wind down in the evenings. Kieth kept in good contact with us to make sure the home was up to par and that we were enjoying things. Even when the storm knocked the power out Kieth took care of making the calls necessary to get power back. But it was all good, we got to totally enjoy using the fireplace that night. Being able to relax in the jacuzzi was out of this world. My fathers favorite part of the whole trip was the house. Waking up in the morning and just before bed, having the herd of mule deer grazing right outside the windows in the yard was just such a peaceful feeling. We would without a doubt stay at the Meadow View Lodge again if we ever come out that way. Kieth's hospitality is more than one could ask for from a rental home owner. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to rent your home. The Erdelles-Lamb Family

Oh My Goodness!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful Christmas we had! The home, property, wild life, ton's of snow, where do I stop..........everything about Meadow View Lodge is more than we could have ever ask. When we arrived on Dec. 21st there was a foot of snow and when we left on the 29th there was about 3 feet of snow..........we loved it! Dennis plowed us out each day we needed him and believe me..........we needed him! FYI.....if you need a place to leave extra car that can't make it up the hill.......try the hospital...that is what we did and it worked out great. The boys went each day to town and dug out "snow ball" and moved her to a new parking place! She survived with no problems. Keith checked on us often and that was appreciated as well! Between Keith and Dennis...you will be well taken care of! Our daughter was proposed to on Christmas Eve and we're excited to be planning a 2010 Wedding! The Meadow View Lodge will always be special in our hearts for more reason than one! Thank you Keith for sharing your breath taking home with us for Christmas!

We had a wonderful 1 week stay! The house is great. It sits at the the top of a ridge and has gorgeous views. It is so quiet and private yet close to downtown Durango. Keith is great to work with and always available. Hummingbirds and deer came right up to the house. The kitchen is well stocked, the game room is a lot of fun, and the bedrooms are very comfortable. The hot tub was so relaxing in the evenings. The stars are awesome, but it is also enjoyable watching lightening during storms over the mountains. We enjoyed the Durango & Silverton train, Mesa Verde, Telluride, hiking, 2 different hot springs, and white water rafting. We would defintely stay here again if we came back to Durango. We totally enjoyed our stay at Meadow View lodge. Our family used the lodge during our stay for the memorial service for our beloved mother/mother-in-law/grandmother. It was perfect for family to gather with the spacious open floor plan. The lodge was equipped with everything we needed! The grill was great, we enjoyed the deck with gorgeous views. The game room was a wonderful hangout for the kids. Keith is great to deal with and always a phone call away!

This house definitely lives up to its billing. The setting is perfect with spectacular views of the valley and mountains. It offers complete privacy without being overly hard to reach by car. The house is clean and very well equippd with everything you need. The hot tub on the deck is the icing on the cake. We have rented a lot of properties over the years, but this is the best by far. We'll be back!

Excellent house. As the website says, 4WD is necessary in winter. In the summer, even a family sedan will make it with ease. Views are spectacular. Valley's below, and big peaks off to the west. The sun sets right over the top of those big peaks. The house is well equipped: Wood for the fireplace, kitchen ready to go, and even a nice set of pool cue's. As an allergy sufferer, I was happy to see that in addition to the feather pillows and comforters, there are plenty with non-feather fillings. An easy detail that some rental places forget. Keith is available by phone, and easy to get in touch with.
