My family really enjoyed our trip to NC and our stay at Aloha Cabin. The Cabin is exactly how you see it on the website, clean, beautiful views and a great owner who really takes care of her place. We took our kids skiing for the first time on Cataloochee Mountain and they loved it. Overall I would highly recommend Aloha Cabin.

I highly recommend Aloha Mountain Getaway for your vacation in the Maggie Valley area. Aloha was very easy to work with and provided us with great information to maximize our time in NC. The cabin was everything promised and more, we were 10 people (including 4 kids ages 7 to 12) and we were quite comfortable. Aloha even provided us with a miniature Christmas tree for us to celebrate the spirit of the season. We will defenitely return on the near future. We left with great memories of our vacation in Maggie Valley and our visit to Aloha's Mountain Getaway Thanks Aloha!

One of the best vacation experiences in Maggie Valley

Guest: Twin's pop (Athens, GA)
Date of Stay: 12/21/11 Review Submitted: 01/09/12

We have visited Maggie Valley so many times for our family getaway and the experience at Aloha Mountain Getaway last winter was one of our best ones in the area, not only for the affordable price but also for the owner's kindness and concerns as well as the home-feeling atmosphere of the rental house. One concern for winter visitors is that you may have to be very careful when it snows a lot and the temperuture is low because the access will be very limited in heavy snows. Other than that it is a perfect place for enjoying beautiful scenery and family reunion for your vacations.

The house was all I expected and more. Aloha is very helpful and gave good directions which allowed us to find the house easily in the dark. Close to waynesville and even closer to Maggie Valley. No complaints from our large party of family and extended family which included 3 small kids. We truely enjoyed our stay at this home in the mountains and will visit and stay here again.

Owner response:We are so happy to know that you enjoy your stay. Hope you and yours have a very nice holidays. Aloha

October Birthdays at Aloha

Guest: G-G (Sumter, South Carolina)
Date of Stay: 10/20/11 Review Submitted: 10/31/11

My parents and us five daughters (we had no brothers) enjoyed celebrating the parents birthdays at Aloha Cabin. The pictures do not do it justice, this cabin has so much room, the open floor space for den, dining and kitchen is so nice. We had plenty of beds, baths, and spaces to spread out! We enjoyed the gameroom, we even had a Ping Pong Contest with all participating and the PE Teacher of the family won, of course! The view was heavenly, the ride up to the cabin exciting and of course Maggie Valley and Waynesville always a joy! Thank you for sharing your "Getaway" with us! South Carolina Girls and Parents!

Aloha Mountain Getaway is a beautiful, spacious home nestled in the mountains east (I think) of Maggie Valley. The house is close to the sights and activities of Maggie Valley and close to the shops of Waynesville. The house is beautiful and well-equipped. There is plenty of room for a large family or even two average families. My sister and I were there with our grandchildren. The boys really liked the game room on the lower level. My sister and her husband and I enjoyed the deck and the roomy bedrooms. There are plenty of bathrooms for everyone to use to not be in each other's way. We truly enjoyed our stay at this "mountain getaway". Maggie Valley is one of our favorite places to visit. We plan to return next summer -- probably for a more lengthy stay.

Great Family Getaway

Guest: Diane (Lakeland)
Date of Stay: 06/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

Our vacation time at Aloha Mountain Getaway was perfect. The spacious accommodations made it so that our large family of ten could spread out comfortably. The cabin, tucked up in the Smoky Mountains, was nicely furnished and very clean. Our family enjoyed walks almost every morning down the quiet mountain road. And in the evening the children loved playing ping pong, darts, foosball and pool. We definitely hope to be back!

Owner response:Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We do our best to keep the cabin clean and well maintained for our guest. We are so happy to know it is appreciated. We look forward to your next visit. Aloha

Family Mountain Getaway Weekend

Guest: Jo (Charlotte, NC)
Date of Stay: 06/10/11 Review Submitted: 06/27/11

My family's experience with Aloha Mountain Cabin was excellent. It was nicer than expected because the $140 per night is a great price for such a roomy house in the mountains. The furnishings were nice. We were initially disappointed there was no air conditioning bur the night mountain air was great for sleeping. The four bedrooms were perfect for our family - 1 year old grandson, two married daughters, two son-in-laws, and the two of us. Our family loved the ping pong table! The outside property needs some tending. The inside of the house could use a good "spring cleaning". Aloha was extremely helping, always answering email and phone calls quickly. Downtown Waynesville is very quaint and only 15 minutes away. There was a festival going on and we enjoyed the live band and clogging groups. We ate at Sweet Onion restaurant and it was delicious. I'd recommend reservations because it can be crowded. We loved the serenity of the house location and could barely see neighboring houses. Yes, I would recommend this house to a friend and my family would return.

Owner response:Thank you so much for your review; with our guest comments we can improve our services. We are pleased that you and your family had a good time and hope we can help you in the future. Best regards, Aloha

Aloha Mountain Getaway made our Christmas very Merry!

Guest: Tiffany (Myrtle Beach, SC)
Date of Stay: 12/21/10 Review Submitted: 01/05/11

Our family of 7 stayed at Aloha cabin for Christmas 2010 and had a marvelous time. The cabin was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed, and we really enjoyed the foosball and ping pong tables. The porch was great and had a beautiful view and the fireplace was perfect for cold winter nights. They even provided a pack-and-play for our toddler. The Wi-fi was much appreciated by the computer savy in our group, and the board games and puzzles were appreciated by those of us who needed a computer vacation. We lucked out and got snow for Christmas, although 9 inches was more than we had asked for! We hiked the same trail that an earlier poster did and saw the elk, which was a great experience for all. Three of our party did the smoky mountain railroad polar express trip and loved every minute of it. There was plenty of grocery shopping within a few miles, and downtown Waynesville was charming. Mostly though, we just hung out at the cabin, and it was spacious enough that we could all play a card game together or seperate and do our own activities. The surrounding area in the cabin neighborhood was great for taking walks- we made friends with some horses down the road- but save your stamina because the walk back up the hill was a lot tougher than the walk down. I would recommend this cabin to anyone!

A Home Away From Home

Guest: Mary (Durham, NC)
Date of Stay: 12/10/10 Review Submitted: 01/13/11

We were planning a girl's weekend and this cabin met the requirements for having a separate bed for each of us. Aloha was very responsive in answering questions and concerns. We were pleased that it was easily accessible and comfortable. (She gives very good directions with landmarks.) Our visit included the Biltmore and shopping for Christmas. I gave it a four instead of a five b/c we had to furnish our own paper supplies and there was a used sponge to do the dishes instead of a clean dishcloth. I would say it is a home that let you feel at home.

Guest: Tampa Travelers (Tampa, FL)
Date of Stay: 11/20/10 Review Submitted: 12/08/10

My husband and I and four of our grandchildren ranging in age from 14 to 22 stayed at the Aloha Mountain Getaway during Thanksgiving week. The house is beautiful, comfortable, well-appointed and absolutely inviting. Aloha provided us with all the information we needed to get there and with a lot of data about nearby activities. The view from the front porch was stunning and I still miss getting up early and gazing out at the mountains. We enjoyed lighting the fire in the evenings and relaxing with tv or games. On one occasion, we took a day to travel to Bryson City and took the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad trip. We recommend it to anyone of any age. Although you feel you're far away from civilization, the house is close to many amenities. The Ingles Supermarket in Waynesville is just 10 minutes away and offers anything you may need. We happened to get there when the shops in historic Waynesville were holding open house. Everywhere we stopped to look (and buy), we were offered refreshments by some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet. We also drove to Asheville, to the historic district, and found interesting shopping. We stopped for lunch at the local Mellow Mushroom Restaurant which is so eclectic you can spend more than your lunch time inspecting the place itself. In all, we had a wonderful time and hope to return. We have already spoken to friends about the house and have recommended they check into it whenever they are going up to that area.

Owner response:Dear Lorena, We are pleased that you and your family had a good time and enjoy the house. We appreciated your feedback and hope to have you as a guest again. Have wonderful holidays! Aloha

Wonderful stay!

Guest: Phil (Durham, NC)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/20/10

We really enjoyed our stay at Aloha Mountain Getaway. Aloha (the owner) was very prompt in replying to emails and sending all of the needed information to confirm our stay. The cabin was not very remote but we knew that before we booked. It was nice to have our creature-comforts and also be so close to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The neighborhood was very quite and there was certainly plenty of space between the houses (we could be barely see the next closest house). The house more than adequately accommodated 5 people (each with their own bed). We found all of the supplies that we needed (utensils, cookware, etc.). We cooked all of our meals for the weekend at the cabin and had no issues. The place was very clean. We took advantage of the foosball and ping pong table in the game room. We LOVED the Wi-Fi. We used the Internet to plan our hike in the area and we even gave someone a video tour of the place while we there. We hiked the Boogerman trail and another trail and ended at a scenic area where there were multiple herds of elk (this was in Cataloochee Valley). Thanks, Aloha, for helping us have a great Fall getaway in the mountains.

I found this cabin last minute, and it was really cheap! cheaper than what I would have expected it to be... Im always skeptical about things that are too good to be true, but was i wrong!!! this place was GREAT!!!! you can not beat the price! Great location and view! and only 15-20 min away from Cataloochee Ski resort! We had 8 people in the group and there was plenty of room, maybe a little too MUCH room for 8! =) But we all had a great time, and I'll be looking forward to coming here again next yr when i plan our snowboard trip again!!! THANKS ALOHA!!!!

My family and I (a rather large group) stayed at the Aloha Mountain Getaway in mid February, 2010. The cabin was lovely, very clean, spacious, and cozy. The view was absolutely wonderful!! My children had a blast playing in the game room, which is heated. The kids also enjoyed hiking around the cabin and climbing and sledding down the hills. It snowed a lot during our stay and it was truly beautiful; however, I would recommend 4 wheel drive if you know there will be snow!! Mrs. Aloha was amazing.. She is very nice, honest and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I would love to stay at this cabin again and again, year after year!! I would highly recommend the Aloha Mountain Getaway!

We had a great two night stay. Cabin was clean and in great working condition. Owner was extremely helpful and accomodating. Only drawback would have to be the road leading to the cabin. It is very narrow and there arent any safety rails to keep from falling into lake in case an accident were to occur.

The aloha cabin was a beautiful home and I am so glad that I stayed here with my family. Although the drive up the gravel road was different than I expected, the amazing mountain views by far made it more than worth it. All the boys enjoyed the ping pong table. The house had all the details, from great, clean, furnishings to really soft toilet paper. It was an awesome visit.

We rented the place for 2 nights (Feb 27th - March 1st 2009). We were a group of 5 couples and we had a lot of fun at the place. The Table Tennis and foosball kept us busy indoors while the skiing kept us busy outside. Ms.Aloha was really helpful and our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The location is perfect.

My family of four stayed a week in this beautiful cabin in October and it was a wonderful experience. The home is tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean and uncluttered. Our kids had a great time playing foosball and ping-pong down in the game room, which is unheated but it wasn't uncomfortably cold down there. It was wonderful having a nice laundry room, too. The Tempur-Pedic bed was awesome! That's what we have at home, so that was a nice little luxury on vacation. A very quiet and beautiful area. The road up is a little narrow and scary---I don't know how it would be in winter but no problem in fall. Cooking out on the deck was great with the pretty view. Aloha is so nice and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this home.
