This Ski, Waterfront Retreat Home offers truly Five Star Accommodations and
is located only three miles from Olympic Whiteface Mountain!
The house is a two story, 3-4 bedroom newly renovated home with everything new!
It has been designed and furnished with careful selection of antiques, contemporary pieces and original artifacts from around the world. All the mattresses are brand new and of good quality. Bath and bed linens chosen carefully for their quality, like Italian, high count thread sheets and Ralph Lauren designs.
The richness of the Earth tones welcomes all with its warmth and is in harmony with the surrounding nature.
Ground Floor:
An Adirondack style porch, furnished in a comfortable, eclectic manner welcomes all!
Perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the mist lift off the mountains, or sip the wine to the evening serenade of cicadas.
The large living room opens up to a majestic, ever changing vista of the Mountains.
The easy comfort of a couch and armchairs invites to become one with nature.
After the sun goes down one can be entertained by choosing from our collection of movies, music or books. The gas fireplace will add a warmth to the ambiance of the room as well as the people in it.
The antique dinner table sits eight, with room for two more at the kitchen island.
Perfect place for the whole family to have an evening of card games, monopoly or good old-fashioned conversation. The kitchen is a state of the art affair. You’ll find all the tools and gadgets needed for preparing magnificent meals. Italian, color coordinated dinnerware and a cookbook written by the local chef are just a few special touches.
For summer cooking you may want to step out to the deck. There is a gas grill, picnic table and Adirondack chairs grace the beautiful lawn.
Our eight person Hot Tub with special features and extra powerfull jets is everybodys' favorite spot.
In our study you’ll be surrounded and perhaps inspired by an interesting collection of art, books, or the glow of candle light. By night the queen size futon and hand embroidered screen from India transform it into a comfortable bedroom for two.
The ground floor bedroom, furnished with a casual, country elegance, provides a Queen Size Bed and is easily accessible for those who don’t care to climb the stairs.
The main floor has a bathroom with a bathtub. We try to keep the Epsom Salt handy, for those achy muscles from all that active fun.
Second Floor:
The Master Bedroom is truly Masterful! A Queen Size Four Post Bed with a red baldachin invites romance and the creation of special memories. The room is inviting and elegant with oriental touches, like the 17th century Chinese traveling chest.
For the little and big kids - a sunny room for happy times!
Two sets of bunk beds, where the lower full size bunk folds into a couch during the day.
The room is bright with color and hand made art work from Guatemala, like the animal carvings and Mayan calendar tapestry.
Bathroom with a shower and a view of the Mountain.
The casual elegance and comfort of this house makes for a very special experience of Town and Country.
"Everest Dream" is nestled in a valley, in the village of Wilmington, providing breathtaking views of both Whiteface and Stephenson Ranges. It sits on almost an Acre of private, fenced-in property that includes over 80 feet of shoreline on Everest Lake.
There you can swim, fish or launch the canoe available for you to use - for a mellow paddle or some serious bird watching! Lake Everest Beach with live summer concerts is just across the river. Some prefer to sit on the dock and chat or watch the water roll by. Perhaps later in the evening you’ll stoke a fire in the fire pit on the shoreline.
The large yard is great for playing croquet, badminton or volleyball.
Here you can submerge in the unique experience of an authentic Adirondack Village.
Walking to the store, village library or for a country breakfast at a nearby restaurant brings back the joys of a time gone by in most places but lingers here in the Adirondacks.
Lake Placid Village with all that it has to offer is just ten beautiful miles away on the most picturesque road of the Adirondacks. Here you can enjoy shopping, dining, arts and crafts, museums, The Olympic Center, golf, horse shows, movies, festivals, nightlife, ... or "in short" - hustle and bustle of this special, lively Olympic Village.
The 140 square foot screened and fully furnished gazebo, overlooking the water, is all of our guests' favorite spot!

Charles & Renata, My family, my sister, other sister and her family truly enjoyed our stay. Your place was so comfortable, clean and gave us a feel of being at home. Everything that we needed was right there. Your description of amenities and everything else were to a tee and the information that you provided about places to eat, supermarkets and places to see were a great help. The location was perfect. It was so close to everything! The gazebo was such a delight to sit in early morning with coffee or late at night with a glass of wine :-). What a beautiful site sitting on your dock at the river. The fishing was also great. There was something for everyone of all ages to do including our dog. We are still talking about the wonderful vacation that we all had. Thank you so much for the memories that my sisters and our families will always treasure! I would recommend this property to anyone. Thanks again.
Owner response:Thank you, thank you Lisa! This makes me really HAPPY ;-)

Weekend of winter fun!

Just came back from a wonderful weekend at Everest Dream and absolutely loved my stay! My group of ten went for a mini-vacation to spend in the country side, some of the group chose to ski while others went tubing or drove to the town area. Those that spent the daytime skiing went to Whiteface Mountain, which was a short 3 mile drive away. The mountain was great with plenty of trails and beautiful scenery. Those that drove to nearby Lake Placid described the town as very charming and also thoroughly enjoyed tubing as well. At night, we had good old fashioned fun of card games, grilling food, and general chit chat/bonding. The house is very cozy, well-kept, clean and nicely decorated. Each room has a theme adding to the overall ambience. As I read in another review, the only (very slight) drawback is one of the "rooms" is not actually a room- it is a study with a futon with no closed off door. This wasn't a problem with my group as no one was seeking ultra privacy as we went for a feeling of group togetherness. The amenities listed are all accurate and provided. We had some minor problems with the hot tub- the screen where the temperature is digitally shown was not working so I had to guess if it was hot enough and sort of blindly increase the temperature. It still worked though, nonetheless- though there was one day we couldn't seem to get it hot enough. The owner also emails nearby restaurants and attractions, and there are some nice looking places. I didn't happen to shop around or see these places as we chose to stay in the house for the most part. Wilmington is very beautiful and the views from the house are breathtaking. Even just standing outside at night and seeing the stars so clearly was a treat. Getting out of the suburban/urban areas for just a weekend really brings me a lot of joy and happiness. Thank you again for providing us with a wonderful weekend. We hope to come again soon!
Owner response: Thank you so much Julie for taking your time to share your Adirondack experience at Everest Dream! It is most appreciated ;-) We are so glad to hear that you have enjoyed your stay in Wilmington, and are really happy that we were able to accommodate your request for an extended time on your departure day. It sounds like you made the best of the time you had there. I'm very sorry that you had to deal with the challenging control panel on the hot tub ;-( We have looked in to it and are happy to report that a new one is in it's place ;-) Thank you for choosing to stay with us! Best, Renata

Our stay in February 2011 at Everest Dream WAS like being in a pure white Adirondack dream-land -- watched over by the many changing faces of nearby Whiteface Mountain. After glorious sunny days snowshoeing and skiing in the locale's famed winter wonderland we luxuriated with a glass of wine snuggled up in front of the fire or soaking our bones out in the hot tub. The house more than lives up to its pictures -- it radiates comfort and charm and the owner has a deft designer's touch that is never trite or tedious and there's a wonderfully well-appointed kitchen for hearty gourmet meals. The ample grounds stretch all the way down to the lake and include a magical gazebo. Set at the edge of the quiet Village of Wilmington, the house is conveniently close to the bustle of Lake Placid in the heart of the Adirondacks. All in all, Everest Dream is truly a wonderful timeless place to relax, recharge and get away from it all. Five stars for sure!

The house was as pictured but the setting was a little surprising when I arrived. Unfortunately the house sits very close to another house that is rather run down and is also fairly residential (the nearby church bells going off hourly got to be a bit much). To their credit, the owners have done a great job with privacy fences and the grounds were well very kept. There is access to the water (but no views from the house) and the steepness of the bank near the river and the lack of a hand rail kept the older members of our party from gaining access. My single biggest complaint with the house is the exhaust associated with the hot water heater. It was very warm during our week (we needed the windows open) but when somebody would take a shower the exhaust would fill the house with choking fumes. The vent appears to be at ground level and below several windows. This was VERY frustrating. We also had trouble with the smoke alarms going off. Two nights in a row (around 12:30am) they woke the house up. This caused me to conduct a complete search to ensure there were no issues (there weren't). It's possible that the extreme humidity and/or the exhaust set them off.. Regardless, this ruined two nights sleep. It did, however, contribute to several new family stories. We ended up cutting our vacation a day short. I suspect this would be an excellent rental during the winter (when you can keep the windows closed). You can't deny the beauty of the location and it's very central to many attractions in the area (a great home base). The gazebo was definitely a high point. The kitchen was very well equipped and we ate most of our meals at the house. The owners were also very responsive when we contacted them with concerns. The care taker was VERY helpful pointing out locations (beach, fishing, etc) (thank you so much!). It's possible we just had a particularly bad week.

This was our first rental with VRBO and we were the first renters at Everest Dream. It remains until this day the best place that we have rented. It was just soooo cozy and romantic. Very nicely furnished. The view from the water and the automn leaves were simply stuning. We went for a little peaceful boat ride. It was one of the most relaxing weekend.
Owner response:So good to hear from you Rachelle! Thank you for your kind words!!! We always remember our First Renters! It's like with our first LOVE, it never gets forgotten ;-) Yes, and I remember the brand new toaster oven with the cardboard left inside!!! It's time for you to come back! Renata

Great home! Well kept up, clean, towels/linens all taken care of, big living/eating area. Awesome hot tub and nice big property. Approximately a 5 minute drive to White Face! Great skiing!! Only negative is that the 4th bedroom is not technically a bedroom. Its a room very nicely kept and with a pull out futon, but it is in an open living area away from the living/dining rooms, though. The owner is great, easy to communicate and make arrangements with. I'd stay here again!

Went up with 6 friends on our annual Whiteface ski trip. Plenty of space for all of us to sleep and hang out comfortably. Hot tub was amazing, it is right outside the backdoor making it easy to get in and out without freezing to death. Would highly recommend this rental to anybody looking for a relaxing/fun weekend of skiing during the day and relaxing at night. Not much going on in Town when we were there, but Lake Placid is a short 15 - 20 min drive away. In addition we have a golden retriever who is very active and the large backyard was perfect for her.

Nightmare Rental

We rented this house for a relaxing family weekend getaway. Relaxing it was not! The plumbing backed up and feces spewed all over the downstairs. Yes, these things happen ..I suppose. It ruined one of our days as we attempted to clean, protect the owners belongings, find a suitable place to stay etc. Worse than that was the owners response. First trying to put us up in a hotel resembling 'Deliverance", offering another property an hr away in a blizzard that slept only half of our party, and finally blaming us for the problem. Owners ended up refunding one night which did not in any way even cover the hotel rooms for 10 people and the additional meals we had to spring for since we no longer had access to a kitchen. Certainly not the way to treat your guests after such a harrowing experience. The decent thing to do would have been to graciously apologize and refund the weekend for the horrible inconvenience. Nice house, but would absolutely not recommend dealing with these people!!
Owner response:Like you, I wish that this Nightmare hadn’t happened, and that neither one of us had to experience the emotional stress and unpleasantness of this situation. Lorraine, you yourself expressed that the house was in perfect shape in your praising email upon your arrival. There was no evidence whatsoever of any sort of problem with plumbing or drainage raised from the continuous guests we have had staying in the house. The house was inspected, cleaned and laundry done before your arrival. Ten people of your party stayed in the house, using plumbing facilities without any problems, until there was a clog the caused the back-up of the sewage on the last day of your stay. The fact is that you didn't call me to report the problem, as asked in our rental agreement, instead you tried to fix it yourself, in result causing more back up to both the toilet and the bath tub. When we finally received your call, hours later, we responded right away. The Roto-Rooter company was scheduled to arrive in an hour to fix the problem, clean up and disinfect the affected areas. When you expressed your discomfort with staying in the house under the circumstances, I offered, with no hesitation, to refund your money for that night so you could seek alternative lodgings. I also offered you another rental property that we own, (half an hour away) at no charge. You didn’t like it because it was too far form Mountain. After the problem was fixed that night I was informed by the plumbing company that they pulled out a sanitary napkin out while cleaning the pipes, which was what had clogged the toilet. Even though you mentioned earlier that the only person that was at the house, when the accident happened was a “not feeling well teenage girl“ I am not assuming that you were responsible for this clog, and am not holding your responsible for it, even though the evidence may point to that. We gave the benefit of a doubt and refunded your full damage security deposit. We didn't charge you the $100 cleaning fee. We refunded you the cost of your last day stay with us, which more than covered the lodging that you found in lake Placid. However, when you suggested that I file an insurance claim and refund your the money for the whole weekend, under the threat of a negative review, I chose not to do that...

Every room has a very personal touch to it. The hot tub outside is a great asset and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly want. In addition to relaxing in front of the fireplace and enjoying tons of space around the house, the surroundings were also very beautiful and peaceful. This was definitely an upgrade from the other houses we have stayed at in Vermont. The mountain is close and very easy to get to as long as you have a car. I would strongly recommend! A real Everest Dream come true ;p Thanks, Charles and Renata, for making our stay very comfortable and assisting with finding the keys at 11.30pm on a Friday night!
