Les Bouyssières is a traditional, cosy, slate roofed house with attractive stone walls and original wooden beams. The house sleeps 4/5 in two bedrooms. A separate, attached studio for two people, comprising a further air-conditioned twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and water closet, has its own access and small breakfast terrace.
The house has been carefully renovated to retain its character and charm and is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard, demonstrated by its 4-star classification for comfort and quality from the Office of Tourism of Lot. The house sits in its own unenclosed gardens of flowers, fruit trees, lawns and grassland and is set in an area dotted with similar small stone-built farmhouses in an area of working farms producing such crops as wheat, maize and tobacco and raising ducks and geese. It is a few minutes walk down the road to the quiet village of Creysse and the river Dordogne.
The combination of gas fired central heating for cooler months and air conditioned bedrooms for hot summer months make the house welcoming and comfortable all the year round. For visitors who need to keep in touch with home or office, a broadband internet connection provides unlimited access to the web.
The south-facing front terrace, plus the terrace at the rear of the house are both equipped for outside dining. All around are superb views of the cliffs and wooded slopes of the Dordogne valley. The 4000m2 gardens include a private parking area.
The area is rich in history and medieval architecture as well as being within easy reach of spectacular cave systems, many famous for their prehistoric paintings.
There are many restaurants nearby where visitors can enjoy the excellent local produce. |
