I have stayed here with my family and friends for many years and keep coming back. An all-season, spacious chalet with all the modern amenities, including large flat screen TV with cable (for us this is great for the little ones or that late night movie!). Large, open great room accomodates several families at once for dining dancing and games. Lots of parking. Wooded mountain setting provides a great Vermont experience. Lots of wildlife to be seen right off the deck! Located in the immediate vicinity of Waitsfield, VT, everything you'll need is right there. Shopping, restaurants and movies and of course year round outdoor fun. Winter offers two nearby major skiing resorts to suit your needs and abilities, ice skating and a great quiet getaway with indoor fireplace. Summer offers river rafting, swimming, the best Saturday Farmer's Market ever, outdoor fireplace, hiking - you name it. We love this place. It is always neat and clean, owner is only a phone call away should need be. House is stocked with menus to local restaurants, brochures for all local activities, local newspaper, maps and even a fun guestbook!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for the koodoos. I appreciate that you enjoy my chalet. It is built for comfort and practicability. I'm pleased you enjoy it as much as I. I so enjoyed reading your comments.

We stayed here for Norwich University parent's weekend, which was also Columbus Day weekend. The weather was not good, but when we did have visibility the views were awesome. I recommend you drive around the neighborhood (on the hill) to truly appreciate the views. The house has plenty of sleeping and everyone was comfortable. There was enough seating in the large living room and at the dining table. The kitchen is well-equipped, including large pans, spices and some condiments. The only problem we had was finding the place on a dark, rainy night. The house numbering system does not seem to make sense. Evelyn was very easy to work with. I thought that my daughter would want to stay closer to campus next year, but she loved the house and is already suggesting we stay here again.Owner response: I appreciate the great review of my chalet. Thanks. It is dark on the roads not in the Village. Waitsfield is not equipped with street lights which allows for the country setting we love.. Hopefully the directions (which include a map and written directions) suffice in making it easy to find our house. The numbers do not make any sense I agree. We were always #4 Glenview Road; the Town changed it to 511 which means nothing to me either. The directions do state that we are to first house on the R. after turning on to Glenview Road. I shall endeavor to underline this information when sending it to my next rental.

Our stay at this lake house was very enjoyable. We loved the space: very large deck and a fantastiac patio. The house was very clean and is almost brand new; everything is in good working order. Two bathrooms realy helps with 9 persons. The house sleeps 9 very easily and has a super kitchen with eating space. We made use of the dock even though we did not have a boat. The directions were great and we had no problems finding the house. The lake is beautiful and so large; it goes on and on. We look forward to returning soon; possibly in the fall with the foliage.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I took a group of students to this place for a theater retreat. The owner was incredibly accommodating, and the property was wonderful, both in general and for our special purposes. The house is in impeccable condition, and you can tell that the priorities in recent renovations were quality and aesthetic concerns; it was super clean when we arrived, is well appointed (the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 12 people), the wood stove was both very efficient and cozy, and the house's floor plan is very convenient, allowing for both social togetherness and privacy when needed. I slept in a very cute loft-like upstairs bed "cove", with the stars right above my head when I fell asleep, most other bedrooms feature four bunk beds that are perfectly comfortable when you are not looking for luxury accommodation but congenial atmosphere. If you need a place where to spend quality time with a bigger group of people, away from everything, this is definitely a great pick. We went in April, and there was still some snow of on the mountains just across from the living room window. It must be spectacular in winter!Owner response: The house accommodates a lot of persons well. The sinks in every bedroom add to the ease of shaving and putting on makeup. The house is all redone and looks great. The master bedroom has a queen bed. It is cozy and large at the same time.

Thanks for allowing us to use your beautiful chalet. The accommodations are outstanding. The views are great. Very comfortable; the sinks in the bedrooms are a super idea - no bathroom problems - people were able to shave, dry their hair and put their makeup on in the bedroom. The house takes a lot of persons well. Very roomy. W. TantilloDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Most family friendly lodging experience. Great idea having sinks in every bedroom. With large family, it works out great. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Lots of space to spread out and have fun. Everything is up to date and in good condition. A pleasure to stay in. Looking forward to our next trip here. Skiing was wonderful; accessibility from your house is fine - we skied all three of the ski areas you can see from your front windows. We may do a summer week next year also - the area is beautiful. We understand the fall views are spectacular with all the red, orange, gold and green foliage.Thanks.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
