After reading all of the rave reviews for this home, my wife, children, and I were pleased to find that they were all right on target. Despite having rain for the majority of the time we were in Siesta Key, the amenities of this house made our time there incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. Our arrival began by meeting the owner, Bob (who was super helpful and friendly), and getting a nice tour and overview of the house, plus a helpful explanation of some of the surrounding attractions. Though we brought our own computers, a nice iMac was provided, along with a printer and wireless connection. The Internet was super simple to connect to, and the speed was definitely adequate (I'm a Web developer, so high speed is definitely important to me :). We loved the location, because it's within walking distance to the beach, but there is also easy access to just about anything else you can imagine -- grocery stores, movies, a mall, a large number of restaurants, gas stations, jet ski rentals, and on and on. The pool is amazing. The lanai in the back is the perfect place to spend your time, whether taking a break from the sun or spending time outside on a rainy day. We used the grill quite a bit. Bob was thoughtful enough to make sure there was a full spare propane tank, which we ended up needing. Sure, you won't necessarily find every single spice or condiment in the kitchen, but there certainly were quite a few already there. In my opinion, providing everything for everyone isn't really necessary. The grocery store is right down the street. :) We left several things that we purchased for those who came after us (just as those who came before us did). I would HIGHLY suggest this house. We hope to be able to return in the years to come and will certainly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

We just returned from spending a month in this beautiful home. The home is very clean and comfortable. The location is close to the beach and shopping. The owner has furnished the home with tasteful furniture, the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals and there are beach chairs, umbrella and coolers for trips to thebeach.We enjoyed the pool and the large lanai. We would recommend this home to our friends. It was nice to have the owner meet us at the house when we arrived. He recommended we go to the Myakka State Park which we enjoyed. We love the Clam Chower at Capt. Kurt's which is close by.

We went on a vacation with our 2 yr. old daughter and my in-laws. The house is spotless and the lanai is a lovely spot to have lunch. The beach is close by and Bob, the owner, has beach chairs and beach accessories to use. It was great to have toys for a little one including a high chair! Crescent Beach has powdery sand and the ice cream shop across the street is not to be missed. Lido Beach is a 20-25 minute drive north (and west) and is great for shell seekers. The Marie Selby Botanical Garden on Tamiami Trail north is not to be missed. We had a wonderful lunch at the Oasis Cafe (mediteranean) close to the house. There is a publix grocery store close by, which is convenient for buy breakfast and lunch foods. It's also nice that there is a dvd collection for visitors. When we arrived, there were no condiments at all in the refrigerator so we had to buy all that, which was a bit of a bummer (and expense). Despite that small issue, we loved the house and would definitely recommend.

We found this home a perfect environment for a wonderful vacation. The home itself is immaculate and furnished to a very high standard with every conceivable necessity. Even an Apple Computer ! There are TVs and DVDs in the bedrooms as well as in the living room. Our 2 year old granddaughter was with us and we had the use of a stroller, highchair and many toys for the beach and home. We loved the lanai with its heated pool, outdoor grill and furniture which lends itself to comfortable outdoor living. The location is amazing...walking distance from Crescent Beach with its baby powder white sand, supermarkets and many other shops and local restaurants. The dazzling sunsets are well worth a walk in the evening or one could enjoy them from the beach or the nearby restaurants. Bob the owner met us on arrival. What an incredibly kind and thoughtful man. He explained all the amenities in the house and when he heard that we would not have a car until the next day when our family joined us, spent much of the early afternoon driving us around showing us the Siesta Key Village, Crescent Beach , recommending restaurants and even took us to the nearby Publix to buy groceries. A couple of highlights for us was our bird walk in the Myakka State Park Park and our visit to the Botanical Garden. The car trips to Lido Beach were easy and quick and we thoroughly enjoyed St Armands Circle with all its boutiques and restaurants. We all look forward to a return visit !

11/28/10 Positive We have just returned from two very enjoyable weeks at the S.Pool Home. We found it to be exceptionally well equipped and feel we are good judges as we have rented homes in many countries. Its proximity to fine beaches and shopping made it perfect for us. The pool and lanai is wonderful. Lots of toys for the kids too. We used it everyday. There is outdoor dining and a excellent gas BBQ. We consider the SPH a real find. Thanks for your attention Bob. 08/23/10 Positive The Sarasota Pool home is perfectly situated next to Siesta Key with just a short walk to one of the best beaches on the planet. All amenities you need are located within a short drive of the home along with some great restaurants. We really enjoyed Phillippi Creek, the Outback, SKOB and Sharkey's down at Venice Beach. There's also plenty of shopping nearby at the the two Westfield Mall's. St. Armands Circle is also well worth a visit. The house is furnished to a very high standard and has everything you need to hand. There are three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a very spacious lounge and kitchen. The laundry area was an added bonus. The computer also came in very handy for checking routes to various restaurants and places of interest. There was also the beautiful swimming pool! What we found was that most everything was provided for us. I like the fact that everything is near by, but the neighborhood is quiet. We enjoyed having our own pool and were minutes from the beach. The home is attractive, clean, well maintained and has every convenience your own home would have. I would recommend this property to anyone. Our four year old granddaughter had a great time and so did we. Would definitely stay at this home again. His father was there to welcome us and give us a tour of the home when we arrived. The home was immaculate. The pool was warm and sparkling clean. The kitchen was well stocked. We used the gas grill everyday and enjoyed eating lunch on the lanai. The Apple computer and wifi were a nice bonus. Plenty of shopping very close by. Siesta Key beach is our favorite. ( love that white,never hot sand ) but, plenty of other beaches to check out in the area. It was great having coolers,beach chairs, beach towels ect.. available for use. Even two bikes . Bob you thought of everything ! My only regret is that with all these great reviews, the house may not be available for our next vacation. We will definitely be back. He provided information on local food/attractions and spent time explaining the home and its amenities. The home, what can I say, well cared for and clean with nice furnishings, fully functional kitchen with amenities. I personally enjoyed the grilling out on the lanai and the pool. Very convienient location close to all services from grocery and resturants to boat rental and beach 3 min. drive or a 12 min. walk. Would reccommend to friend and would definately stay again. This was our first trip to Sarasota and Bob was kind enough to,answer any questions we had about the area and to give us tips on how to get around and local spots we should visit. The home is located just minutes from the finest beaches in the country. We recommend Turtle Beach, somewhat secluded and less crowded, very nice, the sunsets are unbelievable! The home is well maintained and includes everything you will need for your stay, Bob has taken the time to think of everything. The Pool was great, we all enjoyed it, the perfect compliment to our stay. The home was well stocked with everything you would need, plenty of toys for your time at the beach, bicycles should you want to take a ride around the area, nice amenities such as mac computer/internet, wifi should you want to bring your own pc, gas grill, truly anything you will need. We were minutes away from great local restaurants, Publix should you want to dine in and plenty of shopping. We recommend a trip to St. Armand's Square just 10 mins away, great shopping and dining! If you are looking for the perfect Sarasota getaway we highly recommend that you stay here, you will not be disappointed! We hope to be back.... The Villa was in a fabulous location just 5 minutes drive to the public beach and also a publix supermarket less than a mile away. The Villa was of a very high standard and Bob has really thought of everything. The pool was great with plenty of toys for kids to use and lilos if you just wanted to relax. There are also coolers, chairs, umbrellas and toys for use at the beach which is why we chose to drive there, but you can walk in 10 minutes if you wish. The Villa was very clean and fully stocked with everything you need,and more, from the kitchen to the bathrooms and bedrooms and also luxurious items like the internet. In fact we struggled to decide whether to spend time on the amazing beaches and dine out or stay around the pool and eat in. We did both! We stayed with our 4 year old daughter and there was more than enough to entertain her, with DVD's and games. If you are considering spending a vacation in Siesta Key then you should definitely look no further than staying here. We hope to be lucky enough to return in the future. Not to worry, it far exceeded our expectations. All the previous reviews are spot on. Great location, fully-stocked, immaculate, wonderful pool & lanai, etc. For breakfast, try the cinnamon roll at Word of Mouth (6604 Gateway Ave.) or anything at Simon’s (5900 South Tamiami Trail). For lunch, visit Jackie’s Diner (5758 South Tamiami Trail). The consensus of the group was that the best mojitos were at the Columbia Room at St. Armand’s Circle. (Their 1905 salad is another standout.) High points of our visit included sunsets at the beach at Siesta Key (a ten minute walk from the house.), Myakka River State Park (use the main or south entrance to the Park) and the Ringling Museums (you could almost set aside a full-day to see everything). Or just enjoy the pool and lanai. We don’t know when we’ll return to Sarasota, but if we do, we’ll definitely stay at the house again if it’s available. What a fabulous vacation home. We had been burned in the past at a different property in Florida and were a bit hesitant to rent over the internet again, until we began conversing with Bob through emails. What a most accommodating host. The home is perfect for vacationing for a couple or a full family. Perfect! Bob maintains this home with the utmost of care, and provides anything you may need for a memorable vacation. This is our first time being able to stay for two weeks anywhere, and plan to extend that next year at this same home, if we are fortunate to get the time we want. Even though the weather wasn't ideal, we still utilized the beautiful pool and lanai. The neighborhood is like our own, quiet and friendly. The location is most ideal, close to beaches, shopping, and attractions. I would highly recommend the home to anyone and hope to beat them to the perfect time next year! We just spent a month at the Sarasota Pool Home, and having rented several houses in Florida before, we can say that this is among the best. If you are looking for a house away from home to enjoy your vacation, then this is it. It comes so completely set up that the only things you will need to bring are your toothbrush and clothes. And don’t bring many clothes because you only need shorts, a t-shirt and sandals, and of course a bathing suit. There are plenty of shopping opportunities (like St. Armand’s Circle) if you want more clothes. The best part of this house is the location. You are not on the beach, which is a plus because it can get a little crowded there, but you are within walking distance (10 to 15 minutes); or by bicycle or car (5 minutes), and parking is free. You can spend all day at your own quiet backyard pool and still shoot to the beach for the sunset. It really is ideal for total relaxation. Don’t forget to check out all the beaches in the area: Crescent Beach and Siesta Key beach, but also try Turtle Beach and Lido Beach if you are looking for more tranquility.

If you want activities other than the beach and swimming, there is plenty of shopping, but there are also ample cultural events. The Ringling Museum is must, and be sure to go to downtown Sarasota on Saturday for the Farmer’s Market. St. Petersburg and Tampa are only a 1 ½ hour drive and you have Bush Gardens and the Salvador Dali Museum for starters, and the list of options there goes on and on. If you are into outdoor activities such as hiking and biking you will find two great parks within a half hour of the house – Myakka River State Park, and Oscar Scherer State Park, with great biking and hiking trails, well marked. Or try the Legacy trail for a 10 mile bike ride through countryside. Restaurants are also abundant, (Cafe L’Europe at St Armand’s Circle is very good) and if you are Pizza lovers, check out Pontillo’s (just behind the Publix Super Market.) This house really does have it all and you will definitely not be disappointed. I should also mention that the owner, Bob, is a great host and you will come away feeling that you have gained a new friend. He could not be more helpful, and if you are lucky enough to meet his parents, you will have found two more really great people. If you are looking for a vacation home, don’t miss this one. We will definitely be back. However much time you spend there, you will find it is not enough. If you don't book this property, in our opinion, you will be making a big mistake! After watching the Travel Channel's "Best Beaches", we chose to go to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - Siesta Key Beach! My husband and I booked the Sarasota Pool Home (the first week of June) after doing extensive research of rentals in the Siesta Key area. We looked at properties on the beach and off, but always kept going back to the Pool Home, and so glad we did! It was exactly what we wanted! Imagine, your own tastefully decorated and maintained 2000 sq. ft. home, no other tourists to deal with, no elevators or parking issues, with a beautiful screened pool (open 24/7) all to yourselves to swim in under the stars! Add to this, a gas grill, covered screened lanai, lots of wonderful patio furniture to enjoy, and a privacy fence with lush tropical plants surrounding it!

My husband took lots of pictures of the tropical plants, flowering bushes, and palm trees! Also, wanted to mention that our cousin and her husband own property on Lido Key. When we told them we booked the Pool Home, they drove by the property. They told us the home was extremely nice, and that the owner must have it professionally maintained (which he does, and pool service as well). You'll also notice upon check-in, a nice touch by the maid...fanned toilet paper and wash cloths! The home truly is immaculate, AND no extra cleaning fee charge! A BIG +! As seen in the pictures, it has beautiful decor and furniture, a large screen TV, DVD player with a nice selection of movies, 6 disc CD player, and an Apple iMac computer to boot! A beautifully tiled shower off the master, a large main bathroom (large mirrors and plenty of room for the ladies to get ready :), a formal dining area (with a beautiful hutch), eat in kitchen, as well as a laundry room and a separate office. A double car garage, with more beach equipment than you will probably need. All this and just a short walk, or drive (we did both) to Siesta Key Beach! With respect to the owner, he made sure our every need was met. He was out of town during our check-in, so his lovely parents gave us the "Grand Tour" and made us feel right at home. Although we did have the pleasure of meeting Bob during our visit. His hospitality was above and beyond our expectations! Found out he has a birthday very soon. My family stayed here for one week. The house is just perfect. Immaculate condition. Great facilities. Our children just loved the pool - we loved the pool and lanai! The owner has considered everything - providing beach towels, beach chairs, kids toys, umbrellas, cool boxes - laundry detergent, shampoo, toilet rolls etc etc. Great place to stay, Five minute drive to the beautiful Siesta Key Village too. We stayed at this property for two weeks and absolutely loved it! We had previously vacationed at a Condo on Siesta Key the past 4 years but decided to try a house for a change as our daughter was getting married there and the whole family was coming for the first week (friends joined us for the second week). It was so much more pleasant having your own private screened in pool & patio and a fenced yard for our grandkids to play in. The beach & shopping were within walking distance. The house was immaculate; bedrooms spacious and comfortable. As far as amenities go, everything we could have wanted was there! We will definitely make this our vacation home for next year, and hopefully many years to come! This is a wonderful house. It is a 5 minute drive to Siesta Key beach, and the neighborhood is conveint to everything you need for a great vacation. First of all when we arrived at the house, Bob {the owner} met us and gave us the Grand Tour of the house. He gave us the keys and said if there is anything that we might need to just give him a call and he would help us. He even had soap, laundry detergent, toliet paper etc. All we needed was our toothbrush. The home is decorated beautifully and is very clean. The beds were very comfortable. There was also a computer that he let his guest use. We used the heated pool/lanai alot! He even supplied beach towels,beach toys,coolers etc. The home is in a great location. We walked to the beach and is very close to highway 41 { many restaurants to choose from if you don't want to cook }. We would recommend this home to our friends and family. We will definitely be back to stay at the Sarasota Pool Home. We just ended a month's stay at Bob's Siesta pool home. What a great time we had ! The location was perfect. You will not find a cleaner more well equipped vacation home anywhere. Everything you need is right there. The lanai / pool area with a gas grill was wonderful. The best part of the house is the owner ! You will never rent from a more concerned , caring landlord than Bob. This is not your typical "pick up the key at the rental agency" type deal. Bob met us when we got there and and gave us the grand tour and made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who appreciates a quality property. We'll be back. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The weather could have been a bit warmer, of course, but we did get in the pool a few times anyway, and had plenty of the rest and relaxation we were craving. I've been in a number of rental houses on various family vacations but have never seen one so well furnished and well kept. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone I encounter who's considering a vacation in this area! Thanks again for being so accommodating and for helping us to have such a fantastic honeymoon! This house is great! It has a heated pool with Lanai and a screened patio. The decor is so pleasing we took notes for home. The appliances are all up to date and there is an on-line computer that we used to find restaurants, activities and directions. The location is close to the beach and also highway 41 that has lots of restaurants shops and food stores. We will definitely return for another stay. We were three couples and had plenty of room. That said, I can’t thank you enough for making our holiday in Siesta Key so pleasant. Normally I don’t want to return to the same place when I have been on holiday, but I sincerely hope that we can have another vacation in your holiday house. Date Submitted: October 15, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008 The property is exactly as described on the web site and was enhanced buy Bob and his son David meeting and introducing us to the property on arrival. The property was clean and clearly well maintained. The property is so comfortable and well equipped that it tempts you to start and end your day in the outside patio area. When you do venture out turning right and walking over the draw bridge for 10/15 mins ( or a 2 minute drive NB parking is restricted) allows direct access to the beach and a number of restaurants/bars along with a small supermarket. Turn the other way at the end of the road and again a 10/15 min walk (or 2 minute drive) gives access to a shopping plaza and more restaurants/bars. Although there was just the two us which meant the property was much larger than we really needed, its ideally set up for 6 adults or a mix of adults and children. We would have no hesitation in recomending this property for a comfortable and relaxing stay and its is ideally located to walk or drive to some of the local amenities. As an indication of Bob's willingness to ensure our stay was comfortable, we have a laptop issue during our holiday and he was willing to provide a recomended contact name to resolve our problem. We found the home extremely suitable for all our requirements. It was superbly situated in a very central location and surrounded by lovely beaches and plenty of eating establishments and supermarkets/malls. The home carried a lot of equipment to cater for all requirements and I even noticed a buggy and cot in the garage. The absolute beauty of this home was that every need was catered for, even down to the computer being available to use. We found the standard of hygiene to be high. There were ample towels and beach equipment meaning that we didnt have to buy anything to enjoy our time at the beach, which was near enough to walk to although we opted for being lazy and used the car!! There was a selection of board games and a selection of dvd's available as well as a very comprehensive tv package (not that we used that). The whole house contained all the equipment that we needed and more. We made full use of the BBQ and pool which was even better than the photographs suggested and catered for all weather patterns. We were welcomed to the home by Bob's son David who gave extremely helpful and clear information to assist us on both the property and surrounding area's. We also met Bob during our stay and found him to be very pleasant and again very informative. Siesta Key village is a beautiful place to visit and catered for our evening entertainment and after a hectic week visiting the parks at Orlando was much needed rest and relaxation. We would highly recommend "The Hub" bar/restaurant in the village which also had live music as did some of the other eating establishments. We would definately stay at this home again. When we arrived Bob and his son met us and gave us a tour and showed us everything we needed to know. We were in Sarasota for our son's 14U National baseball tournament with our college age daughter and her friend and the girls had plenty to do in the area and at the house enjoyed the pool and computer. The house was VERY clean and had everything we needed plus every bed was comfortable. The luxury of the washer and dryer in the home was great with having to wash baseball uniforms every day. All the extras of beach towels, coolers, boogie boards was great. My husband and son loved fishing under the Stickney Bridge and caught plenty of fish. My daughter and her friend ate at Coaster's restaurant near the bridge and really liked it. They rented bikes for the week and we able to get around easily that way. I would highly recommond this house for anyone staying in the area. We plan to definately go back to Siesta Key and would stay here again. Bob, We had a great week at the pool home. I loved having the computer and wireless access, that way my husband could do some work and there was still a computer free! Also, the pool was wonderful, the kids had a great time! I think of all the places we've stayed this was by far the best. It was great having everything at the house we could need, we were very pleased to have beach toys, coolers, pool toys, games etc. already there. We just completed a week long stay at the home and it was wonderful. There were six of us total, two small children and four adults. The house was plenty spacious for all of us. The house has a pool of course and it was wonderful as was the screened in porch. The house also came equipped with everything we could need, games, beach toys, even a stroller.
