You will LOVE our SERENITY SUNSET CABIN on beautiful Buck Mountain! This GATED community offers a stocked fishing pond, a 75-foot waterfall, beautiful hiking trails, a covered picnic pavilion with grills and firepits. PLUS there are over one hundred miles of ATV trails.
You will be supplied the gate entry code to our magical getaway. The location feels "way out in the country" and our cabin is on SIX ACRES - so you have plenty of privacy. BUT we are close to Highway 421 (four lanes which are snow free all year round!), and then right up the mountain WITHOUT those death defying twist and turns some locations require! Our driveway turns right off the main paved road in the community, but from our house you cannot see anything but mountains!
We are between Boone (art galleries, restaurants, and ski resorts), the Blue Ridge Parkway (flowers and wildlife), and Wilkesboro (Wal-Mart and Merlefest!), and there are SO many activities to do. OR you can simply sit on the porch in one of our rockers and watch the spectacular sunsets over the breathtaking mountains.
The cabin is a real log cabin with great views. The three bedrooms have plenty of room with a king-sized bed in the master suite and two twin beds in the sleeping loft, then a king sized bed, sitting area, and bathroom downstairs. Our beds are the finest quality Kingsdown mattresses with high quality sheets. GAS FIREPLACE inside is cozy for watching movies! Firepit outside is perfect for making s'mores.
The master bathroom has a shower/tub combination. When you enter the cabin you will feel like you have stepped back in time being surrounded by all of the authentic wood and lodge furnishings - but do not worry... there is a flat screen TV. PLUS HIGH-SPEED INTERNET with a little desk perfect for your laptop.
The great room has soaring ceilings that continue out to the roomy porch. The kitchen is EQUIPPED with everything you need - toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans, refrigerator with ice maker, full-sized stove, and MORE! Downstairs you have a full-sized washer and dryer. Local art covers the walls to make you feel right at home. Solid pland dining room seats 6 with the leaf but cozy for two lovebirds as well!
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR PROPERTY IS NON SMOKING. If you do smoke - please choose another property as we are unmoving on this rule!
The property around the cabin is wonderful for hiking and deer watching. We also love to feed the HUMMINGBIRDS which frequent our feeders on the back porch.
We are very familiar with the surrounding area and would love to give you suggestions on the best places to eat, ski, boat, fish, shop, or spelunk! Several small towns close by have fantastic art that should not be missed.
There are some great mountain music festivals and events close by. Let us know your interests and we will steer you in the right direction... local style. We especially love to eat so we know the best place for biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, and GOOD BARBECUE.

Why the Owner Chose Wilkesboro
I looked all over western NC for two years before choosing Serenity Sunset Cabin. I love this location because we are way up in the mountains but do NOT have to go through death defying twisty roads to get there - good roads all the way! This is important to me as I am a native Floridian used to sea level!

We love to HIKE, sit on the porch and ROCK and watch the clouds rool over the mountains, go to all the great local restaurants and EAT, and watch the DEER family in the front yard!
