Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
I am a private pilot and could choose to have my vacation home anywhere; but I chose Spencer, TN. Why? Friendly folks, natural beauty, peaceful living. That's what I want in a vacation. You are close enough to Knoxville, Chattanooga or Nashville to go enjoy the Grand Ole Opre for an evening then come back out of civilization to the tranquility of the cabin.
Why the Owner Chose Fall Creek Falls
There are 10 State Recreational Parks in the Cumberland Plateau area; miles of waterways and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Fall Creek Falls is amazing but do not overlook the other attractions in the area: Burgess Falls, Rock Island Falls, Cumberland Caves, Edgar Evans State Park, the Centerhill Lake area and the red roof cabin at Mountain Crest! While the area is beautiful - the red roof cabin at Mountain Crest IS your vacation destination. There is everything you could possibly need for a long term or a short terms stay. No worries if it rains: with over 400 movies, games, satellite TV and internet, there is no need to go anywhere else.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
My favorite things to do at Mountain Crest: 1. Sit by the fire 2. Sleep by the fire 3. Work by the fire (do you see a theme here?) 4. Play games in the game room 5. Sit on the porch swing and watch the day go by

A small group rented this cabin for the weekend during a local cycling event. The cabin is really nice inside with plenty of room to move around. The property itself is pretty awesome with lots of rocks, creeks, and even a pond. Not to mention the great view of the valley. For us it was very convenient to Sparta (where the event was) and a great place to go and ride. The overall experience was great, from the ease of getting into the cabin, to the time we left. We will definitely be back next year. Maybe sooner!

This property was truly as good as advertised and the owner was great to deal with. I took my nieces and nephews (between the ages of 7-16) for spring break and they all had a blast. there was something for everyone to do. I would return again and definitely refer this property to others.

Hay this cabin is well made & if fully equipped with everything you will need. Just bring your clothes & friends & food you will be all set for a great get away from all the stress of work & what ever messing with you. we cooked on the grill. like charcoal but the gas grill worked great. The people at the stores around the cabin are friendly & helpful. there is a lot to see when your there to. Hiking or just riding around seeing nature at her best!

The photo's do not do the cabin and the area justice.Very clean, and so peaceful... The swing on the porch catches just the right breeze to enjoy the beautiful mountain view. And the Shower supplies were a very nice touch. Keep your tennis shoes handy, lots of beautiful Water Falls ....We would absolutely recommend this cabin for every-one to enjoy it as much as we did! The owner was very pleasant and helpful with all the arrangements as well. We will be returning for a longer visit next time ,Hopefully sooner than my husband thinks .I just fell in love with the Cabin and the area!

The Cabin and the view were outstanding. Coming from Florida, snow was added touch from Mother Nature we did not expect. Loved the small town scene.

This cabin was the perfect place for our family's Christmas gathering. We enjoyed the huge table that easily seated everyone for a terrific meal prepared in the cabin's well appointed kitchen. We loved the layout that zoned activities - gameroom on the basement level, conversation by the fire on the man level, and cozy t.v. viewing in the loft. Views of the area are terrific and the cabin has easy access to local stores. Wonderful spot!
