  We stayed in this condo for 16 days in January 2013 and it was great. Tile floors were easy to keep clean. I never stay in a condo that has carpet. View from lanai was wonderful. The owner was easy to deal with and very nice. The only reason I did not give this unit 5 stars is that the blinds were kind of dirty and the slats kept falling off, and the frying pan was so old and yucky, I threw it out and purchased a new one which I left for the next renters.

  The location of the condo is perfect - easy walking to everywhere in Waikiki. We loved the full-sized balcony with a super view of the sunset. We had three people in the condo which meant we had to put the sleep sofa away every morning in order to have a living room but it is fairly priced and we enjoyed having hotel-like amenities in the lobby. You get what is described and Fumee responded promptly to every email sent.

  When I look for a vacation unit, I act like I am going to buy the place. I need to have a nice kitchen (even though we don't ever cook), a full size refrigerator (for all the leftovers, bottles of water and juice), nice furniture that I can slouch in post-beach/golf, and an actual bedroom door. This unit fit the bill perfectly. We had stayed at the Ilikai before and love the valet staff and don't mind paying the $25/day which is charged by the resort on day one. The resort is also at the beginning of Waikiki so you don’t have to drive through all the crazy traffic. I was a bit uneasy sending a money order to the owner and opted to pay a bit more using PayPal. I also protected our vacation with the VRBO insurance. There were so many rules and requirements that it made me a little nervous and it was difficult speaking with Fumee at times. Upon arrival, the unit was everything the photos depicted. My nits about the place: dishwasher still out of order; faucet in kitchen was very loose and it was hard to tell if you were going to get steaming hot water, or cold; bathroom faucet had no caulk so you had to hold the spigot down while you were turning on the water so it wouldn’t move around; old battery in the TV remote so you had to get up to turn on/off/change channels; no beach towels; thin, ball-y/pill-y sheets. There was a pool pass to get towels, but they are only to be used poolside at the Ilikai. All in all, it was a good stay, and we received our entire deposit back within a day.

  We arrived on 30 Nov 12 and stayed until 8 Dec. This condo was absolutely wonderful. The description of this condo was dead on. The pics provided in the add are accurate! The balcony view was very nice. You're able to see the Marina and the beach from the balcony. The Ilikai is also beautiful. This condo is located within walking distance to everything! The condo was clean and comfy! Fumee is very helpful and I loved the immediate response I received to my questions. I checked out on Sat and I received my deposit on Mon. I definitely recommend staying in this condo.

  We were very pleased with this condo. It is just as pictured and described. It was so nice having a kitchen during our visit so we could save a little money on food and spend it on fun instead. We surfed, hiked, kayaked, and snorkeled. The location of the condo is great with a couple nearby grocery store options (Foodland at the Ala Moana Mall or Walmart 1.5 miles away); there are also plenty of restaurants and activities in walking distance. We also appreciated the door separating the bedroom from the living area as we had two teens with us and it helped provide some privacy and a noise barrier. Fumee, the owner, was very responsive through e-mail, answering all of our questions and making the whole process easy. We will definitely stay here again if we make it back to Oahu.

  We spent 12 days at this Ilikai condo. The condo was as pictured on the website. The view was beautiful and relaxing. Fumi very promtply answered my emailed questions. We loved the updated look of the condo and appreciated the wall separating the bedroom and living area. I was able to watch TV in the living room without disturbing my husband in the bedroom. We used the valet parking, $30 a day, although we could have parked in the marina parking lot for $1 an hour. You really don't need a car if you stay at the condo, but we were visiting relatives, so we needed the car. The condo is conveniently located near Ala Moana. Recommendations: Saturdays farmers market at kapiolani community college, Tasty Tuesday dinners at Aiea Bowl (need a car for this), malasadas at Leonards on Kapahulu. We would stay there again!

  The unit is clean and modern, with a fantastic ocean view. The night view is also breathtaking. This unit is one of the few Ilikai units that have been renovated and designed as an one-bedroom unit (as opposed to a studio). We didn't end up spending much time in the unit because there is tons of things to do in Honolulu. The buildling is steps away from the beach and within walking distance to the Ala Moana Mall, Wakiki beach, Hilton village, and the International Night Market. We had a car rental and parking was pretty easy to find in the neighborhood. We really appreciate Fumee's help and hospitality. She is very quick to reply emails and gave us lots of valuable information.

  We were two sisters celebrating a 65th birthday and spent 5 nights at the condo. The Ilikai is a lovely older condo/hotel with character- next to the Hilton. This unit has a wonderful view of the harbor and the Ala Moano beautiful beach. Sitting on the large lanai was great - both at night and in the morning. Although small, the walled off bedroom allows some seperation and it is much better than two beds in one room . Being a 5'11" woman, I was surprised that I slept comfortably on the sofa sleeper. The unit was very clean. and functional - and the pictures are accurate. Being up high added to the view & it was very quite - even sitting on the lanai. There are a number of full time residents who are very friendly and helpful. Only complaints -- The dishwasher was broken, but there were only two of us and there is a dish drainer. The dishes and pots and pans were better than many places - although there was nothing left behind by previous renters in the kitchen. We had to buy dishwashing soap and salt and pepper which usually condos have, but some people probably prefer not having other peoples' used condiments. The beach and the lagoon are just down the ramp by the swimming pool and a half block walk next to the fence by the lagoon. All Hawaii beaches are public -- including the lagoon. If you are a walker and shopper, the big shopping center is close by ...but better you can walk all the way to the end of the Waikiki beach. Lifeguards and better swimming at the other end of Waikiki - but this end is more peaceful... The swimming pool is great - especially early in the morning when it is reserved for adult swim. Friday nights you can see the Hilton fireworks from the back of the Ilikai .. and Friday nights they have their own Hawaiian entertainment. I would recommend renting a car for a day at at time to explore the island - but in Honolulu take tours or the bus ($1.00 for 65 and older) or walk. Parking is expensive...$25 a day valet at the Ilikai. May some free parking somewhere by the canal - but not sure where. Parking meeters are no longer 25 cents an hour - more like $1.50 & up depending on the area - and there are also time restrictions. During the week, you can park in the Diamond Parking lots at the Marina for $12 for 24 hours or $6 for 10 hours - but on weekends the price is $1.00 an hour. It was a nice place with a great location -- especially for the reasonable price. Thanks for sharing your condo!

  We had a wonderful, restful week at this condo. The photos are accurate and the condo is very clean and well maintained. Fumee was such a wonderful help to us, too; she gave us great suggestions and ideas! We loved being right next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and their amenities, as well as the closeness to the Ala Moana Shopping Center for groceries at Foodland. Downtown Waikiki and all its shops is an easy walk as well. No need to rent a car! We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

  Ilikai condo is conveniently located quite near the Ala Moana Shopping Centre and only a 15 minute walk to the action in Waikiki. There is a spectacular view from the Lanai of the Ilikai Marina and Honolulu. Apartment offers good kitchen facilities for self catering.
