We loved the condo. It was spacious and well stocked. I found that it wasn't very child friendly with all the breakable things sitting around on various tables. Having the pack n play and high chair was a huge bonus. The trip to the beach was a journey with chairs, beach toys etc. The trip seemed like a maze to me, in and out of condos, pools and the final treck. I would recommend that you park on the beach to carry all your things or at least have someone drive closer to drop off heavier items. The pool closest to the condo didn't have an umbrella or any place to get shade and the bathroom was locked but the 2nd pool did and that bathroom had no toilet paper. We were the only family in the pool most of the time. The owner couldn't have been more accomadating and you can see her loved for family throughout the condo (which I appreciate). A good time was had by all!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your review.. Yes, I do have some pretty things, which is ok to pack away during your stay. I have a little one myself. But it only takes a few mintues to baby proof. The umbrella was damaged by a wind storm and was replaced. Not sure how the bathroom by the pool was locked. Could have been by accident or as a funny by someone. Our stay at this villa was wonderful. We brought our family together from NC and FL and had wonderful family time, pool time, beach time.and St Augustine adventure time. The location is perfect, easy to locate and the view from the balcony is terrific, especially for 4th July fireworks. The unit is well equipped and beautifully decorated, spacious for a family of six and very comfortable. We will want to return.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family stayed at Janis and Steve's condo for a few days in July 2012. The condo is great and just as described... it was clean, had all the necessities we needed, and had a nice "home" feel. The beach is about a 5 minute walk through the complex (a bit of a maze but just follow the smell of the ocean), OR just drive right onto the beach if you plan on staying for the day. The beach is great at this location and not super crowded which we liked. We also loved the location as it's less than a 10 minute drive to the historic district. We would definitely be interested in staying here again next time we visit!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We’re snowbirds and just spent two months (mid February to mid April) in this beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and oh so spacious condo. The furniture is upper end high quality, so different to the type of furniture you sometimes find in beach rentals. The owner, Janis, has obviously spent a lot of time and money decorating and furnishing her condo and it shows! We were also really pleased with the condo complex which has great amenities, pools, hot-tubs and lovely walkways to the beach. The location of the Villas of Ocean Gate is perfect, it’s right in the center of Anastasia Island, within walking distance of many amenities and close to numerous restaurants and shopping. We saw the most amazing sunsets right from our balcony and also some equally amazing sunrises on the beach. The beach is HUGE and if you like to walk or cycle, you can literally walk forever...I think I did! Dealing with Janis was a pleasure, and although we haven’t met her in person, after our e-mails and ‘phone conversations, we feel like we’ve known her forever. We’re taking home some very happy memories of our stay and we highly recommend this condo, you will not be disappointed.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Janis, I wanted to send a short note to tell you what a fabulous time we had in St Augustine. Your condo is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. The weather was perfect everyday for walks on the beach and spending the day in downtown St Augustine. We four former high school girlfriends cound not have found a better place to stay during our wonderful girls getaway. A BIG thank you for all you did to accommodate us. I came to Florida for a family wedding. I was looking for more then one place to rend for the week. I highly recommend this condo and its owner. We had a wonderful time, the beach the complex is connected to is perfect. The drive into town very quick. It was a real pleasure working with Janis. She keeps both her condos in perfect shape and is so easy to work with. It was like we opened the door to our own house (our own house if it were really clean and on the beach). We held a small bridal shower and the living room and balcony made it a perfect spot for the event. If you are looking for a great place and owner, rent here!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This condo was wonderful, it truly felt as if we were staying in a friends home. Everything that you could need was in the kitchen and the granite and appliances were beautiful. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Location was great very close to beach and attractions. We were not able to use pool etc because of cold/ rain but it looked very nice. Would definately stay again!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I belong to an International Resorts Exchange and have enjoyed the accommodations of some the worlds finest resorts. When we saw your condominium, we were extremely impressed. From the beautiful home furnishings to the luxurious granite counter tops, everything was immaculate. It was so comfortable and convenient to many points of interest. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches and surrounding local sites. We especially liked strolling through historic St Augustine and our trip to the Golf Hall of Fame. We were very pleasantly surprised that the condo is actually much more spacious than it appears in the pictures. The master suite was fabulous! The entire condo was equipped with all we could have asked for. Sitting on the balcony was very relaxing and, of course, sitting by any of the pools or visiting the beach was great. The unit is very close to all the area attractions. We would definitely stay again! Such nice owners, too!Owner response: We have been blessed with wonderful guests. Thank you. The condo is beautifully decorated! We loved how spacious the place was! There was so much to do and see in St. Augustine. The beach is beautiful, and we all had a wonderful week relaxing!
