Our spacious well-appointed 4 bedroom home is a Licensed Vacation Rental (Sonoma County #581N) It is located on 1.5 acres in a private community in the hills west of Sonoma, and sits 1300 feet above the valley floor. It is surrounded by mature Oak and Bay trees giving you beautiful wooded views from every window. There are sweeping views of not only the hills but the south end of the Sonoma valley, the Carneros wine region and the north end of the San Francisco bay waters. Our hills are bustling with deer, wild turkeys, squirrels and many, many species of birds.
Our guests say that our house feels like a "5 star" hotel: that’s exactly what we’d hoped. As you enter the front doors you are greeted with the warmth and welcoming feel of this home.
There are neighbors but with the beautiful mature vegetation you can’t see other houses. You will feel like you’re in a world of your own. We are 5 miles from Sonoma’s central square where there are world class restaurants and great shopping. The drive will take you 12 minutes. We are also in the heart of outstanding wineries: Many are less than 30 minutes of our front door.
Our kitchen has always been a favorite gathering spot. Lots of counter space, a great expanse of windows, a fireplace and our “pub” table all provide the perfect atmosphere. Our spacious dining room lends itself to romantic dinners or upbeat gatherings.
The living room and sunroom overlook our large deck and the expansive views of the valley and distant mountain ranges. The morning sunrise is spectacular. If you prefer to sleep late, just grab a robe and enjoy the valley views with your first cup of coffee.
The Sonoma valley is known as the Valley of the Moon. There is nothing more breathtaking than the big orange moon rising over the hills and flooding our deck with its glow. You’ll have a bird’s eye view.
Each bedroom has a personality of its own. Every bed has a down feather comforter to give you warmth without the weight and down feather pillows that will perfectly adjust to your preferences. All bedrooms have additional seating that will give you comfortable places to get-away from the group if you need a quiet time to talk or read.
The wine country is a destination in itself: add to that this really terrific house and you have the perfect combination.

We had a wonderful time at Pepperwood Place-- despite being up in the hills, was very conveniently located. The deck is just lovely, and the house was full of amenities- even including comfortable robes for guests- we felt right at home. The house was exactly as the pictures show- lots of space, beautifully tucked back into the trees overlooking the valley below. Such a wonderful place to be spending our girls' weekend in Sonoma. We had a wonderful week at Pepperwood. The views were spectacular, the house was immaculate. Plenty of space for us all to spread out. Everything we needed was on hand, even an assortment of spices! Located only 10 minutes from Sonoma, was ideal for dining out if we wanted. Most nights we stayed in because we enjoyed the house so much. We loved "A taste of the Himalayans". We stayed at this beautiful property to celebrate my 30th birthday. We were 4 couples and the house felt spacious and well organized. We spent a lot of time cooking together and just hanging out in the family room admiring the views. We loved the nice touches like the robes and multiple fireplaces. It gave such a cozy and welcoming feel to our stay. Karen was wonderful through the whole process. We will definitely look into coming back, perhaps in the summer! This was our second visit to this beautiful home overlooking the Sonoma Valley. Being able to enjoy our stay in such a comfortable and inviting home was wonderful. The home is very well maintained and the owner provides just about all the basic needs for personal grooming as well as a very well stocked kitchen with all the staples. We would wake up each morning to enjoy the fantastic views and wildlife who often wondered the property. We enjoyed a great dinner at El Dorado in downtown Sonoma as well as touring wineries in Napa and Sonoma.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

When we left Pepperwood in early 2011, our group made a pact we would return to this amazing home. When we left this year, we made the promise. Pepperwood is truly an amazing experience. The sunrises on the deck are spectacular! The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. And the kitchen... it rocks! Everything you want to experience is close by, but the house feels like it is on a mountain by itself. As always, Karen makes the rental process so simple and friendly. Simply the best!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our stay at Pepperwood place was simply perfect. The views were amazing; we were lucky enough to see the sunrise each morning - a total surprise for us East Coast folks. If you stay, you must make it a point to watch the sun come up over the mountain….truly beautiful. The house itself is warm and inviting, with large windows so you can see the view from every angle even when you are inside. Aside from being absolutely immaculate, the bedrooms are furnished luxuriously with beautiful down comforters and are set apart from the rest house so you have more than enough space for a large group. The kitchen is well stocked; in fact we enjoyed the house so much we ate in 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. There were so many special little touches, from the robes and hair dryers to the sweetener packets in the kitchen….Karen has thought of everything. I certainly hope to go back soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our group of 8 adults traveled in from 3 different states converging at Pepperwood. The home was immaculately clean and had everything promised in the listing in top shape for our arrival. A quick trip to Whole Foods in town got us off to a great start for a casual meal at the kitchen table. All of the plates, glasses, bowls, etc. that we needed were right there. Coffee and French Toast in the morning, then off to the vineyards, steaks on the grill at night. Our time was greatly enhanced by being together in this spacious and warm home. We all hope to return, either together or perhaps separately with our families. Karen is delightful to work with.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This place was exactly what we (4 couples) were looking for and more! As soon as you pull into the driveway, you just know the place is going to be awesome. The home had everything we needed and was so clean. The views are incredible and we all just loved hanging out on the deck at night hearing all the evening sounds as well as watching shooting stars right in front of us! We also got to see deer right in front of the kitchen window!! There isn't one thing that I could find wrong with this place. You will not regret staying here, I promise!!! I can't wait to plan another trip to Sonoma and stay at this home!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Stayed at Pepperwood Place from 8/22 through 8/25/12 -- and did not want to go home!! Everything about the place was absolutely wonderful. It is spacious; private; well-stocked; views are breathtaking; hot tub is nice and warm; rooms are very nice size; bathrooms are very nice size; kitchen and dining area were perfect. There were 8 of us and a two-year-old and we were there to attend our daughter's wedding in Sonoma at Gundlach Bunschu winery, which was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended. And our home away from home at Pepperwood - it was the icing on the cake!! In the morning, we woke up to turkey deer spottings; in the evening we went to our comfortable beds after sitting on the deck and overlooking the beautiful city lights. We did have some trouble operating the remote for the television, but really, who needs television when you are surrounded by mother nature, and I have to say when we took our time and did everything the directions stated, we were eventually able to get it turned on and flip through the channels with no problems. I would highly recommend Pepperwood Place; you will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
