We rented this home with 3 other couples for a wine country weekend. We were riding the wine country century. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Karen allowed us to check in early since nobody was staying there the day prior. We headed over early and spent the entire afternoon on the deck enjoying the view and all the wildlife. Cooked a great meal in the well appointed kitchen. I have not cooked on an induction cooktop before, but it worked fine. We rode our 100 miles the next day and and had a delicious meal at the Glen Ellen Inn (although the service was far from perfect there). Got up the next morning and lounged in the hot tub for a while before lunch and wine tasting at a nearby winery. All in all we loved the home and all four couples left saying we have to figure out another weekend that we can come back here. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for everybody. Complete peace and privacy. Thanks Karen!

This was an excellent place to celebrate a birthday and visit Sonoma wine country. The property was very nice, with a big kitchecn, BBQ, hot tub, large oak trees and nice outdoor seating area with incredible views of the city lights and bay. The rooms were large and well appointed. The kitchen was well equipped for dinner prep.

This is the second year the Mudwomen have gathered at Pepperwood Place. It has always been perfect for our gathering. Beautiful accomdations, set in serene, picturesque enviornment, with all the comforts and pleasure of our own homes. We would highly recommend Pepperwood Place for any group gathering, plenty of space, amenities and stock with everything a group could possible need for a perfect reunion, vacation or just a wonderful get away. We would gladly come back year after year.

We chose this home for its view; the view and the setting exceeded our expectations. The home is spacious, elegantly furnished, and comfortable. It is close to town, yet you are in a serene, bucolic setting. The garden is beautiful. We spent the Thanksgiving weekend there and spent a lot of time in the kitchen, which was large and included all the amenities. The view from the kitchen window into the garden was beautiful. The house and the linens were very clean. Karen was wonderful to work with. Would definitely go back!

Very well appointed home, nicely decorated and quite roomy for 4 couples and 1 single. Lots of cooking supplies provided. The kitchen was large and there were many areas for our group to hang out and visit. the patio areas were lovely and we decided to eat in 2 out of 3 nights to enjoy the home. Having 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms made for lots of privacy.

Words don't do this place justice. It's the feeling you get the moment you pull into the driveway--amazing! What a special retreat high in the treetops of Sonoma. Our family of married brothers, sisters and spouses spent an amazing four nights in this wonderful home. Karen was super to work with and the description of all the amenities only touches on all that is available. The location was perfect for touring local boutique wineries as well as day trips to Napa and San Franciso. Don't miss out on a personalized wine tour with Platypus Tours we highly recommend it. Hands down one of the best vacations we have ever had! Thanks Karen, for hosting us in your beautiful home.

Just...wow. The pictures posted here, while beautiful do not do this home justice. Not only is Karen a wonderful person to work with (prompt, kind, professional, understanding) but the second you put your bags down you feel like you're home. There are tons of amenities here, it really is a comfortable, serene getaway. Our favorite part was having breakfast on the porch with the most spectacular valley views. There is lots of space, you'll never feel cramped; it's perfect for a girls weekend or couples getaway. Thank you, Karen! I would recommend this place a hundred times over a hotel to everyone I know!

My family and friends came out from Ohio for a week of winetasting, hoping the house would be as pictured online. As we pulled into the drive, a family of deer were there to greet us, and we hoped the house was a beautiful inside as it was outside. Karen did not disappoint and the pictures are not just staged for show - the house really is as lovely as it looks. The ammenities are 4-star hotel worthy, there really wasn't anything we needed that wasn't available, including a closet full of cozy robes! We spent most of our time in the kitchen (with a wall full of windows and a gorgeous view it wasnt hard to do) and just relaxing on the deck overlooking the valley. Coffee in the morning, wine in the evening - it doesn't get much better. Pepperwood Place was a wonderful memory and we definetely will be coming back.

This house has it all. Far enough away from Sonoma to feel secluded, but close enough to make trips to the Sonoma Market, etc. a breeze. The views off the spacious deck are spectacular, with incredible sunrises. Comfortable, well appointed bedrooms have great amenities including robes. The hot tub is nice, with great views of the valley. But the star of the show is the kitchen! The pub table and fireplace make the kitchen the central room of the house. The kitchen is stocked with a great array of cookware, spices, etc.. We loved this kitchen so much that we only went out to eat one night, the rest of the week we spent cooking together and enjoying our wine purchases from earlier in the day. Karen makes the rental process amazingly simple, check-in and check-out were entirely painless. In short, this house will not disappoint. We'll be back!

We were four couples on a wine country vacation and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Pepperwood Place. The views are spectacular and the neighborhood is very quite. The house is beautiful inside as well, with a great kitchen. We shopped in Sonoma and cooked all our dinners, and also enjoyed the grill, deck, patio and hot tub. The house is just outside of Sonoma, and convenient for everything we like to do. Karen was great throughout the process, and I highly recommend this property.

Every year 4 couples get together for a weekend of wine tasting somewhere in California. The Pepperwood Place exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, clean and felt like home. All of the rooms were beautifully decorated so no one couple felt like they had a bad room. The extra little touches like luxury robes in each room made you feel like you were at a resort. We spent most of our time outside on the huge decks overlooking the gorgeous views. It was so peaceful and relaxing to be outside of town, but not an inconvenience if you forgot something at the store. In the mornings and evenings we had a family of deer come and visit. The house and kitchen included everything you might need. Karen, the owner, was especially great to work with. I now want to change our tradition and come here every year!

What a great find for us. We stayed for four nights with two other couples and the home was so comfortable and well equipped that we couldn't wait to return at the end of the day. We cooked in every night because we didn't want to leave. I was concerned that it would be too far out of Sonoma to make it convenient, but that was not the case. Picked up great prepared foods at Sonoma Market and shopped for other groceries at Safeway. The fact that spices, staples, etc are provided at the house is such a plus. The home was spotless, the dishes are plentiful, more varied glassware than you can imagine, and the hot tub was wonderful! Can't wait to return. Do not hesitate to stay at this wonderful home. We called the owner and told her, "Your website is deceiving........ it's NICER than it looks on your site":

We mainly rented the house because our son was getting married on a vineyard close by. But we cannot say enough about this house. It is absolutely beautiful and is tastefully decorated. The scenery, the wildlife, and the peaceful surrounding makes this house perfect for a weekend get away or longer vacation for three or four couples! We would love to go back and enjoy this house with more time at our disposal.

Girls weekend away and we had a GREAT time! Beautiful home, thoroughly enjoyed the large deck space in the mornings for quiet reading, and taking in the wildlife. Very serene and relaxing! The kitchen was a perfect setting for a bunch of gabbing women while preparing meals and enjoying our yummy wine finds from the local tasting rooms. The hot tub was a welcome and relaxing treat at the end of a day of walking the square and visiting all the wonderful boutiques! Highly recommend this home for families and couples as well, the sleeping areas and bathrooms are spacious and everything is so well appointed!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Pepperwood. There were six of us (3 couples) celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary. The house was absolutely perfect. We all had a comfortable bedroom with a private bath. When we get together we enjoy cooking a great meal, the kitchen at Pepperwood is very well stocked with plenty of room for all of us. Having the fireplace in the kitchen was an added bonus with the chilly nights we experienced. The grounds around the home are absolutely beautiful. We saw deer and other wildlife every day. We asked for a spa recommendtion from Karen. Per her advice we spent a day at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa which was just perfect. We hope to return to the house again in the future.

I can echo other peoples recommendations for this house. We were a group of 8 women enjoying a weekend up in Sonoma and the house was a peaceful serene retreat. The outdoor deck was a beautiful place to have dinner and watch the sunset. We all slept comfortably and enjoyed making dinner in the the large kitchen that was fully stocked with all the kitchen utensils, spices and appliances we needed. The hot tub was a luxurious amenity and had great views all the way to the SF bay! I am definitely going to return (this time with my husband!) to this house in the near future!

I absolutely agree with everyone elses comments, right down to the deer in the yard. Our group of 5 women who have been BFF's for the past 20+ years stayed here the first week in November. It was perfect! So much nicer than staying in a hotel or B&B! The bedrooms are very nice and the beds were so comfortable. Each of us had our own comfy robe hanging in the closets. That was very nice since several of us flew into the Bay Area, saving room in our suitcases for our purchases made while shopping at the square. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck with views of the valley at sunrise all the way to the San Francisco Bay. The kitchen is spacious enough that we could all fit comfortably around the "pub" table and enjoy our "happy hours." The living room is appointed with beautiful, comfy furniture where we could all sit and talk, talk, talk by the warm fire. We were able to enjoy background music because the owner took the time to create very clear and helpful operating instructions for those of us who are a little challenged in operating stereo equipment. In other words, every detail was carefully considered. The property is a great retreat, and very secure with automated gates at the driveway. Although we were there only two nights, it's so spacious, it would be perfect for extended stays.

Wonderful venue for a 40th reunion of our graduation from US Naval Academy. We (4 couples) had a great time in this home with plenty of great facilities for hosting numerous gatherings/dinners/hot tub parties, etc. The rest of our group stayed in both adjacent homes on Pepperwood and the 20 of us had a ball. Karen, I can't tell you how much we enjoyed your beautiful home! The neighborhood is so lovely and quiet. (I enjoyed some early morning walks with the deer.)The decor in the home is beautiful and I can not think of a single thing you are missing! Absolutely fabulous! I could spend a week just hanging out at the house reading books, drinking wine on the patio, soaking in the hot-tub....etc. Unfortunately (or fortunately) there's just SO MUCH to do and see around Sonoma and Napa; we didn't have NEAR enough time to just relax at the house! We will definitely have to come back!! Thank you again for a vacation we will always remember in such a beautiful setting.

Very nice large house that would sleep 8 very comfortably. Saw deer every morning and evening. We sat on the deck every evening and enjoyed the spectacular view and drank some of our purchases from the day. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Sonoma/Napa area. Last October six of us spent a long weekend in wine country (99% in Napa) and honestly the highlight of our trip was the house we stayed in! This house is so well laid out, cozy and has all the creature comforts you could want. We cooked dinner and snuggled next to the fire to enjoy a movie togeher on several occassions. Without fail we saw several deer in the yard every morning. I really can't recommend this place highly enough. The trip to Napa each day is a pleasant and scenic drive.
