This cozy mountain hideaway is waiting for you - offering three bedrooms and a bunkroom(two with king size and two with twin sets), each of which have their own private bath ... ideally configured for two couples and their children to share a fantastic vacation experience.
The main level Great Room, which overlooks placid Shumont Lake, features hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, and french doors that open onto a covered porch that wraps around three sides of the house!
The Dining Room has table seating for six with two additional seats available at the bar, and an additional breakfast table for two. The Sitting Room is right off the kitchen and offers an extra TV for the kids to hook-up video games (Super Nintendo provided with games)and watch DVDs, as well as a pull-out futon for additional bedding. There is a screened porch accessible off the Dining Room which affords a fabulous overlook of the lake for outside entertaining and relaxing. A small fireplace (chiminea) on the deck is great for roasting marshmallows or a little warmth on a cool night.
The Master Bedroom on the first floor is fitted with a king bed. It has a bay window and its own set of french doors that open to the covered porch. An additional two bedrooms (each with their own bath) are located upstairs with an open loft in between overlooking the Great Room below. This loft has been outfitted as an extra living/recreation space with books, games, and a foosball table. The finished lower level has a bunk room with twin beds, seperate bathroom with shower stall, and a TV viewing area with a large screen (52") TV, gas fireplace and air hockey table. Total living space is approx 2750 square feet. Pack-n-Play and highchair provided for those traveling with small children. This is a one acre nicely wooded lot set down from the street for maximum privacy and as close to the lake as you can get! Over 300 feet of lake and cove frontage with dock in place for fishing and swimming! Bring your poles! Or enjoy a relaxing spin around the lake in a paddle boat built for two! Or try your hand at sailing our Sunfish sailboat!
In addition, enjoy access to all the amenities of the Rumbling Bald Resort (formerly Lake Lure Golf and Beach Resort and Fairfield Mountains), including two 18 hole championship golf courses, restaurants. boating, sandy beach on Lake Lure, indoor and outdoor pools, lazy river, tennis, miniature golf, spa/fitness center, and more. Enjoy the peace and privacy of our Shumont Lake property when you want to get away from it all, but have access to all that Lake Lure has to offer less than five minutes down the road!

My husband and I have had the most glorious honeymoon here in the mountains and your beautiful home. This home and it's location are truly a slice of heaven and it gave us a wonderful week to restore, relax and recharge. When we arrived and saw the champagne and glasses you left for us and card, it made us feel so special and welcome! L'il Built-more is a wonderful place to stay and a very difficult place to leave! Quite possibly the best vacation we have ever had. Chimney Rock and Grandfather Mountain were spectacular and only a short ride away. Linville Falls are awesome. What made all of those day trips so special was coming back to L'il Built-more and just grillin & chillin. The children had a blast on the lake with your water wheeler, sunfish and the kayaks(that we brought). Foosball was a it too! Hope to be back soon! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We all enjoyed the many adventures this area has to offer. Some of us will most fondly remember our time playing foosball and fishing off the dock (especially because we caught several fish). Others will remember the trips to the pool and the golf course (both real and mini), while we'll all remember our trip to Asheville and The Biltmore. What will certainly stay in our memories for a long time to come is the fun we had together on Lake Lure and throughout western North Carolina. We definitely hope to return soon. Great place! Kitchen is clean and amazing! Bedrooms and bathrooms prisine with lots of room on the deck to relax & enjoy the lake view. Two families stayed here & had a really great time.
